Considering mine was supplied with an incomplete sector gear, there’s a good chance whatever the problem is is fixable.
That’s what I was thinking.
Hopefully for him, it might be a quick and easy fix.
Maybe it just needs someone to have a look at it…

im sure we can make something work. I’ll still get some info together and post it here incase theres something that stands out. That pinion gear mesh issue that @Wombat posted does sound like a likely cause of the sounds coming out of it.
Keep the offer in mind, but if you can sort it and have the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself, that’d where the kick is in this hobby of ours.

So one unit has a gearbox issue and the other one is low FPS. Thoughts on which should I tackle first? Im happy to pull them apart and reassemble … i just cant get the gearboxes back together properly. Anti-reverse spring always pops out the split boxes side … plus other problems. I also have some dexterity issues due to a finger injury years ago (gad dang trailer hitches). This has proved limiting in with fine work in the past.
