Any gel retailers out there feeling the sales pinch with stock shortages from their suppliers?
I informed my retailer who deals directly with iHobby that by Xmas supply and demand will be much tighter - despite iHobby telling them that there would be no changes affecting imports = bullshit!
What are your backup options financially if sales are tanking up to and post Xmas?
I have informed my retailer of what’s happening and to think ahead so to speak. It didn’t help with iHobby pissing in their pocket and keeping them completely in the dark re: AEG restrictions and so forth. I as a customer brought it directly to the retailer attention - much to their shock.
Unfortunately they are heavily snowed under with other commitments on top of their business, that this is the only financial lifeline
they can rely on at present.
Why would they fold. They are a diversified hobby business with a strong foundation in drones and collectables. Blasters are now a small part serving a loyal customer base, rather than the major part they played in the unsustainable sales of first adopters
I know Brad has helped at least iHobby with sharing his pistol imports procedure. So it’s likely we will see iHobby and other importers follow that and keep at least the gas pistols going. But it is still early days as there is a lot extra that needs to happen both before export and after import and it’s all time.
AEGs are still very much in the may not happen basket but there hasn’t been giving up just nothing to announce. Home affairs is crippling with their lack of response and data base updates.
Something to do with a safety test firearms need to undergo when being imported, but naturally those tests wouldn’t work with gel blasters of any kind and they don’t seem to have any intention of developing any kind of test so just leave it at “there’s no standard to compare too so we just won’t let them in” mentality.
At least that’s what Scotty was telling me at Xforce.
