I fried a pair of front tyres on an Nissan Pulsar SR20. On dirt, well under a minute. It was great fun. Tried a 5.0 V8 Ford falcoon, that took more minutes but got there
Maybe Doc had a build in mind when these parts were ordered, or is it just a coincidence that the scale size and colours match this particular vehicle?
Itâs quite possible he may have ordered this particular vehicle to suit the build he had in mind from the very start.
Which came first, the Chicken or the egg?
Maybe heâs got some more parts to add to this build to come yet.
Maybe heâs gotten even more parts to add to these parts so that he can fit more parts to enable him to attach the rest of the parts to actually achieve his original build plan once the parts all arrive!
Either way, something seems to be evolving into something here.
Itâs not big block brushless âyetâ
Plenty go stupid stuff that I may or may not have already ordered as part of the plan for this build!
Certainly wanted one of the fleet to be a bit of a Hiroshima Screamer, and this poor thing drew the short straw as the model that I planned on building for such the task!
Changed the plans, leaving the White Wellbody Hilux as a standard looking replica and muck around with the more âmodifiedâ looking Tan Custom Trayback instead.
Removed the original 180 sized motor and tiny plastic gearbox for a 370 motor and Alloy reduction gearbox, along with swapping the old C-14 electronics for the latest C-64 modern board.
Unfortunately test driving it, power to motor keeps cutting out, so donât know if itâs a brush issue and water breaking the motor might help out, swapping to larger capacitors on the board âŚor just fit it with all aftermarket RX/ESC gear and be done with it!
Yeah for sure mate.
Expecting a stock 180 motor designed ESC to power a 370 motor under load is asking a lot!
All cool that the suppliers will sell you these upgraded parts, but as we well know from the Gelbaster and vehicle industry, upgrading one part requires 10 other different parts to be changed to get that single part to work correctly with everything else!
This Tan C-14 certainly doesnât look as âracyâ as the white C-24 with the monster truck style wheels fitted, but definitely more suited for the Mad Max/Redneck Mud Bogger look Iâm chasing for one of these smaller crawlers as a modded looking vehicle.
Iâd be upgrading ESC if were me if everything else checks out.
Some of those types are only 15A Escâs and the cutting out sounds like itâs hitting itâs limit.
With the bigger rims and tyres putting extra load on the drivetrain.
The Neebrc brushless outrunner combo I got for mine is 45A another reason I went for it, should be plenty plus only running near stock tyre/rim size. Well thatâs the plan for now anyway
Your advice duly noted mate, and today being paydayâŚmore RX/TX/ESC/Motor Combination kits and a few other goodies finally got to hit the âBuy Nowâ button in my very large shopping cart list!
Then start browsing further and having to show GREAT restraint until a few more parts arrive and can consolidate where Iâm at in the plans for each vehicle before looking at further parts.
Have got some upgraded 1500-1600mAh batteries that I was trying with these tyres, but can tell the stock electronics and steering servo just ainât up to the task, so all the gear to upgrade everything is now on its way!
Modifying the White C-64 Dual Cab Hilux with the brushless system to fit/run my leftover TURNIGY 2S/3S AIRSOFT/Gelbaster batteries.
PLENTY of grunt to run one of these vehicles all day long I reckon, unlike the stock Chinese 500mAh batteries these things are supplied with!
