Random shit from mates
Awesome work mate and great to see some 3D printed models for something different.![]()
![]()
Been a while since I posted any updates here, even though Iāve built another 3 aircraft since!
Thought Iād show off the latest addition to the fleet, which SHOULD be the last Aircraft on my wanted list⦠well for now anyrate! ![]()
Apart from the F4U Corsair that I have, this is my next most favourite WW2 Warbird that I have loved since I was a Kid ![]()
Same 1100mm scale as my Corsair, but was EXTREMELY difficult to actually find one, as they are a very old model that sold out many years ago.
As such, the Electronics are now outdated and I forgot to purchase an RX system for it in my excitement of finding one.
So after some impatience and quick deliberation, I went to the storage unit and grabbed my old long suffering Red Ranger to steal the systems out of that and retire the old girl for a while.
I will only use the V3 Reflex Gyro from this and the waterproof 50A ESC, and will have to find another 10CH RX out of another plane to be able to run both the Retractable Landing Gear and Landing Flaps, as the Red Ranger only has the 6CH because it doesnāt have any of those features.
The TYPHOON only comes out of the box with the old V2 Reflex and 40A ESC, which is okay, but V3 is able to be programmed through Bluetooth, whereas the V2 is not.
I havenāt even looked in my spare parts pile yet, might already have a spare 10CH RX kicking around somewhere with a bit of luck!![]()
Oooh nice. Mine is still stuck in bay 9 Hangar 14 after the stupid pilot tip stalled it
![]()
Iāll get there one day, been super busy with rl shite.
DAMN! ![]()
Thatās the issue with this one and the Corsair, really only purchased as awesome operating scale models, not so much for flying off our dodgy local Cricket Oval.
Have already finished building it, as well as spending an hour or so searching for another 10CH RX for it, but to no avail.![]()
I was going to pinch this one out of the new HUSKY,
but that would mean that the Red Ranger 6CH wouldnāt be able to operate the lights, so just gonna have to order another 10CH and wait before being able to fully set up the Typhoon.![]()
Thereās one 10ch here Lemon Rx DSMP 10-CH Telemetry Stabilizer Receiver (DSMX/DSM2 Compatible) | Next FPV
Bit exxy though ![]()
Cheers mate, appreciate it ![]()
Have already just ordered another FLYSKY 10CH from my usual supplier for less than $30 delivered to my door in 7-14 days ![]()
I stick with the FLYSKY gear as I can bind and programme up to 20 different aircraft from the one TX, saving on a lot of time, equipment and money. ![]()
I could have gotten one for about $23 delivered, but why feck around over a couple of dollars cheaper with longer shipping times! ![]()
Yea cool thatās the best way and I go for Flysky stuff too. Good price and it works. Thatās what we want. Iāve got a pilot problem is all haha I knew I shouldnāt have flown that day as there was about 20k of wind, I thought na Iāll be alright itās f all.
WRONG splat. Ah fk haha

Was a rapid disassembly ![]()
Iām with you on that one mate!
Only 2 or 3 days ago was down the weir with the boat and a couple of planes watching and waiting for the gusty winds and waves to settle down.
Ran into an old retired fellow who wouldnāt let up wanting to see these new fangled electric boats and planes in action.
Long story short, I obliged, sunk and fried the boat and crashed the KINGFISHER on its 3rd takeoff.
As soon as that happened, he just packed up his chair and left! ![]()
Needless to say Iāve spent the last 3 days glueing the KINGFISHER back together, and now just waiting on a new Prop before I can get it back on the water again.![]()
Oh well shit happens I say, if I get bored there is always that to reassemble haha ![]()
The day you get bored will be the day your heart stops mate!![]()

Too true, should of seen the kaos this morning. Got the FJ45 out Iāve had for 26 years out still going great guns. Fired off at 3am to beat the heat. Missions accomplished.
Hopefully that week old WA heat is backing off for you?
Yes looks like cooling down Sunday and for next week. These midnight, 1am 3am starts are taking itās toll on me and hide in the afternoon. Not so much the temp even being 55c itās the sun and the UV rays. My shirt feels like itās just been ironed itās not good working conditions. Oh well why Iām like fk it just work at night, cool, no flys, got torches n stuff to still get things done.
I always had the lucky opportunity running my own workshop to start before sunrise and knock off around 10-11 for a trip to the pub for lunch and beers for the rest of the 50ā° heat of the day, then back to work around 8-9 pm until 2-3 in the morning to beat the heat.![]()
Sure takes it out of ya, but better than being a mad dog or Englishman!
For sure. Where there is a will there is a way to work around things. I laugh some smart arse locals oh you are soft I was doing such and such in that.
See if I give a fuck, do you want a medal or a chest to hang it on.
![]()
Yeah I know those types!
Of course I never had the opportunity when I was working on farms for other owners, but I was a LOT younger then and had no choice but to just get on with it!
I love the heat, but it certainly makes things harder the older I get.![]()
Good to see things cooling off for you mate, and before ya know it, weāll be whinging about the cold and floods!![]()
Never flood where I am. Hang on FFire posted something about inland flood in my area in canāt remember 30,000 years.
Iāll have to get my floaties on for that one
I really will be old if I make it that far

When I was younger did a 6 month stint in the foundry. Lost 7 kilos down to 55 and average bench temperature was 63c. That was not too bad as I did it and you are not out in the UV direct sunlight is the killer. I tried my temp gauge out in the sun earlier it blew through 60c here and the LCD screen shat the bed. So the pic I put up was when it come down from blazing and started working in the shade. But I already knew it was going to be a tinker that afternoon. News said it broke records everywhere at 48.9c, I was like what, thatās a cold snap ![]()
Yeah mate, certainly understand that sort of stuff!
Was regularly 70ā° plus under the leirage in the cattle yards when the DPI would shut us down due to āheat stressā on the animals, but a big Fuck You to us workers having to spend the next 3 hours in those temperatures running them all out into the paddocks!
Thatās the beauty with heat though, as long as you stay out and endure it, the better the body gets used to handling it!
It always gets me when I tell people that we had 50+ degrees in the workshop for 3 days straight, and they reply with ābullshit, the Government Records say that the highest recorded temperature was 42 degreesā ! š«©
