Bit of discussion around V2.5 gearbox blasters lately.
Which of the V2.5 gearbox gel blasters have you lovingly fondled?
Which is in your shopping basket right now?
If you got to open one up, what are you hoping to see in terms of parts & quality?
Are all the V2.5 gearboxes capable of this mythical “extra range & accuracy?”
Certainly some options out there, CT seem to have the snappier prices
They are some nice look gats
Mine is on its way to me now…M110 HK 417.

In all seriousness, @friendlyfire and i saw the modded one, at vipertac, before they shut shop.
I had a test fire.
It was modded to be set up for semi auto shots…high torque motor etc etc, and a hopup. I had been given a fairly solid work over.
The proof was in the pudding…Solid 380+fps on semi.
And Real world range increase…with reasonable accuracy.
For a v2 pumped up to 380 fps, there are a lot of sideways fliers.
This thing was quite consistently accurate.
Larger volume cylinder, with a longer barrel must help.
I test fired it, inside the warehouse.
Standing on ground level, shooting upwards intp the tall, opposite ceiling space of the building… i was able to hit the upper inside of the internal ceiling.
About 40m away. F/Fire can attest to that.
And, about a 2m spread, at that range.
They had tried using a v2 to hit the corner…but aimed up, it wouldn’t reach…the roof stopped the shots from being rainbowed up…
I should have bought that one…when i went back, it was gone. MK110.
Anyway, the new one is going into @RokSolid 's hands.
i’m sure Dr Rok-ter can create a frankenstein, worthy of village peasant screaming and pitchforks…just need to see what parts it consumes…

Could a V2.5 gearbox be shoe-horned into a M-60.?.?
Standard, they are no slouch…but extra range would be good.
The 60 has got the space to accommodate a longer barrel…
A ZB-26 would be asking too much…inline…

Even though it looks dark in the photos…the mag is a little light.
A quick coating of tamiya smoke, to just darken it a bit, while keeping some translucency…

Yeah, Yeah… i know the G38 looks different…
But, it hurts my eyes to look at it…!!!

You buy so many blasters you should be a VIP customer at all stores with a permanent discount card for 15% off all purchases that applies on top of other discount sales that those types of vip discount cards normally don’t apply to

Nice work mate and pertinent timing for this thread. I’m sure a thorough review will follow, in the mean time I’d love to know what it weighs with a hop up and loaded magazine if possible?
Super quick update…
Some test firing, using older gels.
320-330 fps OOTB. Nothing super special, initially.
Range is fairly standard, for that fps. No hopup on it, as yet.
To be honest, i was kinda expecting this OOTB.
I remember the tech saying, it had received a fair bit of work.
I don’t know if he put a longer barrel in, to increase VE…
If that tech happens to be reading this, please feel free to PM me , to discuss what was done…
Anyway, no surprises for the starting point.
I’ll try some different gels.
Lets see how it ends up…
This is all a bit of an experiment, in what can be done, with these gearboxes…
According to my scales…
With batt and a mag, wt is 3.7 kg.
That’s in line with the advertised figures…
Seriously… G28 for me! I like the ugly ones! Also the extra long barrel would be fun with the longer piston stroke.
Any of the longer bronze ones are awesome looking though!
40m with 380fps is what a few of my blasters do, and they are at the ringing end of volume though having 380-400mm barrels. Kind of maxing out what you can get with still having consistent fps between shots.
The longer stroke should help with a longer barrel, will be interesting indeed!
Be interesting to see what you can squeeze out of the bronze bitch 
Definitely needs some work, to get the potential out of it…
So far, “standard” high end v2 , performance and range…
A bit underwhelming OOTB… for all those dollars.
But, i’ve seen what it can do, so…
Jaysus… sad times if 330FPS out of the box is considered underwhelming, Beemer.
