The original has a add on nozzle, which the Supp attaches onto, and is completely immobolised. If i could grab one of those, i would, bit i cant find then anywhere. They go onto Flat bottomed DB berettas. The nozzle also “chunked up” underneath the slide, allowed no daylight through, and made the whole blaster " one piece".
We couldn’t replicate that, so did the best that was available. @Friendly_Fire donated a SKD lower guard, to chunk it up a bit, attached a rail under it, then placed the torch on. It was a bit loose, so he filled it with High density foam.
Not a perfect job, tried a bit too hard, to do " 1 Thick Coat".
Got a bit of build up, and roughness…and still a few voids.
I reckon not really worth stripping it all back, position and thickness about right…just freehanded it with tape.
I might let it set overnight, get the tiniest bit of very light sanding paper, and just breathe it, on the ruff stuff, to flatten the rough corrugations.
Maybe also get a silver paint pen, to touch up the voids…
Tape is adhesive. To set a decal properly you probably need some setting / forming solution like Micro Sol. Just checked the decal stock and only got 10mm wide silver stripes
Looks good. much more like the ridgy didge Wesker.
If you do want to rub it back I wouldn’t use emery paper on it, too aggressive. Maybe mask it off again and lightly rub with fine steel wool or scotchbrite. You might find that doing that smooths off the silver enough for you to be happy with it without repainting.
