I didn’t bought that chinese rifle but bought a 22 ( 5.5mm ) hatsan edge or apachi 1100 ( the second name is the importation name ) and upgraded it
now , i can go hunt with it efficiently , its in mossy oak camo so its rare gun i’ve find for about 60$ , brand new ( the guy needed money , so he sold the gun to me for that price )

I’m looking at this on Saturday, 357 mag / 38 special

Cos I need more things to spend money on :man_facepalming:

“Lever alone…!!”
Half moon stock…nice.!

Neat. Is that an SS Trapper? Got a half-completed PTA for one but other things keep getting in the way. They are really nice to shoot.

Yes indeedy.

Its used, and Rossi don’t have the best quality control reputation so I’ll have to give it a good look.

It’ll be a good chance to teach my son how to reload for cheap 38 special plinking, at least that’s how I’m talking myself into it

They are really good, I have one :+1:

I reload for it too for plinking with lead projis.

Check the mag tube is secure. I had trouble with mine walking forward.

Not a great deal of experience with lead projectiles. Do you have any issues with leading in the barrel?

Whats your favourite source or projectiles, or do you cast your own?

No trouble with fouling.

Hawkesbury River projis. Got some Tigersharks to try too.

Any coated lead projectile should be fine.

Ok good info :+1:

Cleavers is also close-ish

Bit more economical

@Maiphut Have you done the maths on cost per loaded round?

Haven’t had any trouble with our classic 16". Great thing about 38 special is that you can shoot at some pistol ranges

Don’t forget to pick up a cable lock for the action

Not with current day prices but last lot I bought I was just over 10 cents a shot including powder, primer and projectile.

Yes I reload 38 special up to 357 magnum power. Also becomes a 9 shot with the shorter case and a bit of a trim on the mag spring.

I have a DVD somewhere of a few mods you can do to slicken them up and make it easier to load.

Awesome, I’ll reach out if I grab it.

Did you buy factory loads first, then use that brass?

Yes plus had a heap left over from pistol shooting days :+1:

Here’s a youtube video https://youtu.be/4jI5l5N7ca8?si=vTCiQQmMABRzvBra

You don’t have to do it if you are happy with the way it is. I tried a mates that was newer but same model and it was better than mine factory before I slicked mine up. The place I bought the spring kit from different no longer ships outside USA. Steve’s Gunz, Rossi 92 Specialist

They do wear in anyway, handy to have a watch see how things go and where. But also there are things you can do yourself like the mag spring and loading gate in episode 2.

For the Bison fans
