You’re a legend… much appreciated, matey. :+1:

I’ll take you up on that if f I don’t smash one out first… seems like a teardown of the ACR box is a pretty good job for a rainy day.

I’ve seen two types online, Doc…

I was planning on knocking up one like the top one out of alloy… any thoughts on which one works best? :man_shrugging:

On my original j10 some 6 years ago I had the lower one and it work, had seen the HSG one on a few customers blasters that also worked… never studied them as for which works best though.

I am going to print one found on thingyverse today and see how it goes, maybe tweak the model to suit. I want to be able to remove the handguard easy enough as I am planning to front wire it.

I had both of those types, but never got the chance to install them and try out.

Anyway I’ll bow out sounds like Roksolid and the Doctor is onto it :+1:

I had both types and they both worked fine. :+1:
I’ll have to have a look, but I think hopefully I still have the top one fitted to the ACR I stripped out and the bottom type still new in a box somewhere.

Bottom one would be easier to scan and print I would imagine?

From memory I think that the top one worked better as it clamped together and prevented the assembly from lifting upwards, whereas the lower one was more to just limit downward force and was a simple “push in” type fit.

This one I found on thingyverse, going to print and see how it goes… then likely tweak the model and print again as it looks a bit, shmeh.

Says its a tight fit, results will be back soon!

Just looked em up, those would be the easyest cheap print to do, tho it seems someone else beat me to the punch on this one, just found the email of you mentioning me.

Plus i dont know when i would have gotten to it, waiting on amazon to deliver new build plates for my printers since damned wensday when i ordered and still not shipped apprently.

Cheers mate, certainly hope they ship your parts soon :crossed_fingers:

Ordered last week, still waiting for the shipping notification and then it has to make its way from their warehouse up the coast? i doubt it will be wednesday this week.

well i ended up getting the aps AK
like it so far my first AEG.

i tried to replace the blowback plate thing and it jammed on the first shot. the slider for the blowback had lodged itself under the dust cover release. not sure what i did wrong but since the spring was loaded and the gears engaged i couldnt take it off so i ended up tearing it apart and opening the gearbox. keep in mind i’ve never owned an AEG and i have no idea what im doing. anyway immediately the piston slips off the gears sending them out the side of the gearbox along with the trigger. about two hours later i got it back together
and i’ve removed the blowback thingo.

apparently the piston was replaced right before i bought it and im thinking theres more teeth on it than stock so its pulling the piston back an extra mm. i have no clue otherwise.

Well done on your first purchase and having the guts to roll up your sleeves and give it a go. :raised_hands:

Don’t hesitate to ask ANYTHING that you need in regards to working on your Gelbaster, as there’s MANY years of knowledge available here to help you out with any advice and tips you might be chasing. :ok_hand:

Yes disable the recoil.

I can’t see it in your pic but is on top there somewhere and best advise is to disable it. Mine connected to the dust cover/charging handle.

I can get some pics if you need of mine and hopefully sort it out :+1:

100% recommend leaving the recoil out. Especially if you want to run 11v. Either way though having a rapidly moving parts near the battery is a recipe for disaster.

At some point in the future I’ll be doing a video of a aps ak build. It’s mine so it’s lower priority than customer builds so might be a while.

I contacted AKgelblaster to source some Rx ak102 mags… to make it look closer to the 5.45 mags rather than the 7.62 mags… so should look right when I get there!

Solid blaster though, much better than the aps V2 range!

mm might have to blow the dust off mine. Did you miss the link I put recently to those exact mags or has Stings Ops Tac ran dry since I posted that.

Only RX AK102 mags I could find in Oz were at Safari Zoomer, 39 dollarydoos a piece! And I wanted 6 of them.

I like to support local business but in that case, if they were closer to the normal 25 quid a piece I may have… 39 bucks for a plastic mag though, yeesh!

Yea you are right, I got the shop name wrong. Had a bloody business call and fkd that up. Definitely Safari Zoomer was all I could see available. My one and only local store.

Talk about misinformation and here I am doing it myself :face_with_peeking_eye:  :+1:

I had a look to see if I could find some for you but my search netted the same results unfortunately.

Out of stock everywhere besides Safari

M416gelblaster has them for $23 on “sale” from $24 if you don’t mind waiting a month to get it

My tracking from my recent purchase with them shows they’re shipping from the Netherlands, not China.

@bme did you see where your tec-9’s tracking originated? I’m referring to my tec-9 spare t-piece, battery and magazine I ordered from them that’s coming from the Netherlands/Holland

Yes that’s what I paid for them when they were released. The fakelite makes for more desirable if you are a gun nut like me. I have both flavours, was a mad scramble to get them as they are very well made.

Bought several when Sting ops had them then mentioned it here along with a couple others and they sold out overnight in Australia :joy:

Cheers @shadow187 but AKgelblaster sourced some for me already
They are on their way! Now the problem is I am looking at more AKs!
