Resident Evil REVO3...(or, Scorpion Evo 3 mash-up)

Okay… here we go again…another RE project.

Courtesy of RE Requeim, its time to build another clone.

The only Scorpion Evo available, is the Old Lehui.

This is a @Friendly_Fire fave, and this has the potential to be a decent sized project.

I have the Evo ($100 from i-hobby)… and , as friendly said…it has the wheeziest, asthmatic sounding gearbox around.

I’ll give it a basic performance test soon…but ain’t expecting much

Still… it can be turned into a Leon worthy , RE zombie slaying beast.

I grabbed a few cheapy triangle front guards, emailed Canada about the proper kit, and grabbed some rounded side grips, as per the RE kit…

Basic build…

you upgrade it in the game, red dot, stock, etc etc

Hmmmmm…ambitious much.??

things to do…

1: full pull down and paint. What green.? What black.? What the…!!!

2: Rear stock to fit.
This will involve extensively modding an existing stock…like grinding it down to fit. No other way around it. more on that later.

3: Dress Kit from overseas.? lets see… cheapo triangles are a standby option.

4: cut side mounted "circular grips " down. To preserve rounded ends, will cut and join in the middle.

5: red dot…easy… cheapo available.

6: shorten mag

7: finally…full gearbox replacement.?? @Friendly_Fire did this to his…dremeling out and modding reqd… fitted a Gen 10 box.
I’ve seen his in action, 300 fps thumper, sounds nice, and befits a zombie killer…!!

One step at a time…

I’d better get some paint.!!

How many shades of green and black

:smirk::joy:

Lets see… green…

Tamiya: ts5 Olive drab, ts28 Olive drab2, ts70 another olive, ts61 Nato green
Rustoleum: camo green, used on spas.

Then lets talk about clear coats…TS 80 flat, TS 29 semi gloss, or leave it natural…

How many combo’s with that…?? And thats just for green…!!

The curse of OCD…
Others may laugh…but i know they’re the same…!!

Nope… I put a Gen 8 in it. A monster Gen 8, mind you.

The problem you’re going to have with fitting an ACR box or any box with fire select is figuring out how to engage a select lever… why I went Gen 8 cos I’m a lazy bastard. The proprietry Le Hui box is early Gen and doesn’t use a selector plate to shift firing options.

Lots of shell clearing required and the bottom of the box ends up hanging out into the trigger guard area which means custom trigger. A shortened metal Gen 8 does the trick.

You will lose some screws on the clamshell, especially around the grip area, I just used cloth tape wrapped around it to secure it, worked fine.

No functional safety either… so I wired an on/off switch to the stock block so I don’t accidentally take someones eye out with it.

But it was worth all that, I’m a huge CZ fanboy and the snappy trigger with a red Chi Hai is mint, forward wire it and run a big 3S lipo in the front and you’ll shit your jammies when you pull the trigger.

I mean, really… get the paint right and it’s just dead sexy… three different configs, the bottom pic showing the modified MP5 handguard that houses the big mofo lipo.

I dunno I was thinking 60 this go round. Let’s up the game

Yep…thats why i got a few shades of green from toyworld…

the receiver is small, but with many different angles.
The right green, many different angles over a small area…it should look great.!

worth a bit of experimenting on…might go a bit glossy on the body to highlight the angles, and duller on the black to contrast it…

If i want the swivel stock to fit, i’ll have to destroy one…
it looks like you cant buy them seperately anymore… have to look 2nd hand.

Okay…quick paint update, because i know you’re all so excited…!!

The left half of this, is rustoleum camo green. The right half is TS-70 olive

Pretty much a perfect colour match.!!

Rustoleum is gritty to the touch, splatters a bit on application, and is a bit heavy.
Tamiya has a light application, goes on evenly, no splatter, and a very smooth finish.

Good to note, for the future…

This one below has TS-5 Olive ( darker) and Ts-29 semigloss black, with a light spray of ts-80 flat clear.

the smaller details.

i think i’ll go with the first lighter olive, and have the blacks popping, with the smaller details.

i’ll wait for a look in the sun 2morrow, for final choice.

It also shows how the painted blacks, look better than the " toyish" looking handguard black… ill paint those too…
