Resident Evil REVO3...(or, Scorpion Evo 3 mash-up)

Gave it a few good thick coats…and some lacquer on top.

If need be, if it needs a touch up…brush and some liquid paint…easy…

A picture says a thousand words…

Here, you can see how far up the paint goes…

And, how (little) is exposed, when its back in place.

Should i risk a M90 spring upgrade, while its out.?.?

One question…

the warning above the mag says… Read Mahual.

Who’s Mahual…??

Sound Indian…!!

Worth keeping in mind that sometimes adding lots of coats can be the worst thing you can do when you’re painting up a trigger.

I like to check clearance in the trigger slot before paint and if it’s minimal, widen the slot. If it’s a contact situation, the more coats you apply, the more paint you’re going to be rubbing off. :person_shrugging:

Nothing worse than a bit of bright orange popping up on black.

its all good.
trigger area mostly clear.

Only a bit of overspray…barely any…

Mahual can go back to reading his book…!!

Preview…??

Or, wishful thinking…

real steel pic…

Bugger…!!

I just realised, i painted the grips black…!!

Dohh…!!

A lot of information I was reading about these gearboxes said they are more likely to break due to stress by upgrading the spring and that they last much longer without the added strain on the gears and gearbox and the fact theres bugger all replacement parts available

I decided not to with the young fellas HK416

But if you plan on shoehorning a gen 8 gearbox down the track, then I suppose it wouldn’t matter

Keep us posted tho, keen to see what that gearbox can achieve, the hk416 has a much longer barrel so,

i think i’ll leave it stock…

the whole box / spring / gear setup, looks flimsy and dicey…just waiting to go bang.

best not to push it.

Gen 8 , different story…

Yeah it definitely is a bit flimsy

The young fella spammed semi on his hk16 and the trigger trolley came out of alignment, was a headache to get it back together properly, but I got there in the end

Still need to look into getting a metal barrel installed one day, one day

That’s my Indian cousin. Truck driver, can’t read.

Progress.

Main receiver dried overnight, and has a light coat of smoke.
I learned my lessons first time around…spray on lightly, and from a good distance, to avoid splatter.

dry with hairdryer from a distance, and check if it needs another coat.
One thin light coat at a time.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it certainly benefits.
grips are only painted sand, no smoke…they look too stark.

That light coating of smoke darkens it, breaks it up, and gives it that random scattering effect look…

For what its worth to…

close up of the two screws, on the stock.

The bottom one was already there on the stock… the top one needed some careful measuring and alignment.

Some ‘through drilling’ with the stock on , to mark the inside of the stock, for the hole position.
Then, chalk marking and transposing, to move it outside.

Worked out pretty well.

unfortunately, it sits on a curved bit of the stock.
I tried countersinking it, but not possible.
Head will always protrude slighty.

Still, not too bad…

The top screw was longer, had to cut it down and paint the end.
Looks ok, and as good as its going to get.

when the inside of the stock is packed, to remove slop, i’ll repaint the very end of the blaster black… disguise the gap, and hide the thin green visible line.

So, he was part of Albo’s skilled labour immigrant workforce…??

Let me guess… he’s now enjoying a highly profitable career, as a NDIS buisness owner/service provider…?!

 :rage:  :rage:

a man with a beard is sitting in front of a blue background and saying thank you my friend .

Just a suggestion to neaten up that gap a little…

Grab a bit of rubber sheet about 1mm thick and cut it out the same shape as the cross section of the back of the EVO. Then cut the rectangular hole in it so it sits flush against the receiver.

Reattach the filding stock and put your screws back in. Should fill the gaps.

Other option is pumping a little No More Gaps around the stock clevis ehile it’s in place and wiping the excess away with a wet finger. Don’t be tempted to use silicone sealant, you’ll be screwed if you ever need to touch up paint it.

Either way works, the rubber spacer’s the safest. :person_shrugging:

Come to QLD, they say…

Work on your Tan Lines…

Got it put back together…and a little… unimpressed.

Not quite happy with the colour…its a bit too muted.

The joys of rattlecan…only what colours are available…
wishing i’d gone all black now…

I might hit it with some more smoke…
or might just give it away…
Looks like baby vomit…

Didn’t quite happen…

Might just need some weathering to bring out the lines on the tan. Just depends if you want it new or old looking :+1:

i gave it more of a hit with the smoke…it just spat blobs all over it…!!
:rage: :rage:

i think the universe is telling me to just forget about it…

I feel like black rear grip, black piticanny side rails and black foregrip would look better

It’s the two tone tan between the different plastic/nylon that F’s it

Was like that on my silver Calais, between the car panels and the bumpers was a noticeable difference in paint on plastic and metal, ruins the look
