odd. they musta fixed it

Very interesting to learn about GBU and Rosieā€™s Gel Blasters. Iā€™ve purchased from them in the past and didnā€™t have a negative experience, but definitely good to know!

Many suppliers are awesome to purchase from and get decent shippingā€¦ā€¦ the thing that sets them apart is their after sales service, warranties and their willingness to help out their customers with any issues they might have.

Great tier suppliers honour their warranties, replace items without question swiftly and efficiently with great communication between them and the customer.

The low tier suppliers get their reputation for shipping something different to what was ordered, donā€™t ship at all, or have lengthy delays on sending stock that they never had to start with, ignore lost items, ignore faults and customers emails/messages, shift blame, intimidate or threaten customers etc etc etc.

This is where the true worth of any business is measured from.

Anyone ever heard of or had any dealings with OneShot Gel Blasters up in Townsville?

No idea who they are, but theyā€™re Oz based. :man_shrugging:

Wonder why

thats odd isnt it?

hmmm

Likely cost cutting due to lack of sales on those days. :person_shrugging:

Times are getting tough for a lot of peopleā€¦
For many, its a struggle to meet ends, and put food on the tableā€¦

Discretionary spending, is the first to goā€¦
I expect weā€™ll see more of a contraction, as time goes onā€¦

As a business owner myself, makes sense to drop the Sunday/Monday trading for time off and save on outgoings for the least profitable days.
Still open for Saturday is smart, which a few businesses I know of dropped in favour of the Monday-Friday tradingā€¦ā€¦ which didnā€™t work out for them very well!

just wouldnt make sense to close a shop on a day where people utilise what theyre sellingā€¦ id have though tues/weds would be a better two days to close. leave monday open for people to buy parts they ruined on the saturday and sunday.

Yeah true, but I imagine that they did their homework and figured out which days were their quietest/least profitable and chose those :+1:

I reckon @DocBob is on the money there. When I was full time at a blaster retailer, Saturday was reliably the busiest day of the week. Sunday was totally hit and miss, and many times would be dead and barely cover staff wages. Monday, was always a ā€œtech dayā€ and totally dead. As a guy in management for another industry, what they have done makes total sense to me. People will just come on days you are open, rather than just come because you are open. I have also seen a reduction in staff and hours at many gel stores.

I think with reduced discretionary spending, and the fact that many retailers are now less about selling you that shiny new pew toy as most have many of them, and in many cases have reliable better quality or upgraded to be more reliable and better quality blasters. Accessories, parts, gear, and tech work seems to be where most of the industry is now.

Can definitely agree with you about the accessories and Tech Work being a major part of the industry now.

Thereā€™s hopefully more people who are still looking to get into the hobby with a mid range new blaster, or younger players still looking to upgrade to a newer model above their old starter blaster.

Those would be the most common sales these days, but like you mentioned, with a shrinking customer base available.

Accessories, upgrades, modifications, servicing and repairs will always be a good steady income stream for all of the customers if you can build up a reputation and loyalty to the business.

Same with my business, once you finish building/restoring a vehicle, it doesnā€™t mean that thatā€™s the end of the income stream from the owner.

They too will always come back to me with any future modifications they may want, get me to do all of their tuning and servicing, plus the yearly DOT pre-inspection work for them.

So same thing that thereā€™s plenty of future income even after a product is sold/finished, as long as you look after the customers and have a good reputation, this is what will always guarantee a steady stream of work :+1:

I have several customers that I have been working with for over 15 years together, where they wonā€™t take their vehicles anywhere else, and have waited up to 2 years to book in/queue up to get an opening to get their vehicle into the shop.

That keeps their dollars in my business and not any of the competitors.

If a Gelblaster business can build the same reputation for their work and offer after sales services to their customers, then they should always have a reliable income stream other than relying solely on retail sales.

Totally agree with you on that. If you do quality work you will never be short of it.

Itā€™s tricky to gauge the trends in the gel industry but on thing I have noticed is that if you do good work they will come back for more. And if you can only work within limits of a blaster people are generally happier in the long run when it lasts.

Customisation does bring in a good amount of interest in the long run. Recently I found myself to be happy enough with the amount and performance of my blasters and spending much of my blaster budget on pointless accessories and gear to use it.

Butā€¦ I canā€™t help myself after just finishing a custom buildā€¦ and now considering my next one blasterā€¦ happens every time!

Oh come on man I called it first wheres my gratz

Across the board Aussies canā€™t be fucked going to the shops on Mondayz after a banger weekend they are still recovering from.

Half those stores donā€™t exist in Australia or have anything to do with Gel Blasters :person_shrugging:

Greetings yall. I was redirected here from Reddit, and I pretty much been doing a decent amount of digging when it comes to gel blasters in particular. Iā€™m from the states and I know we have airsoft but these gel blasters are my main target for now as for;

1- Iā€™m wanting to get my in laws involved, that means thereā€™s gonna be kids included
2- easier clean up

Iā€™ve seen a few that has a US site counter part, some either donā€™t ship or restock or looks too dodgy. Iā€™d like a good recommendation for us peeps in the states(preferably fast shipping like less than a week if possible. Budget isnā€™t a problem too)

Thank you in advance, and so sorry if this isnā€™t the right spot to askšŸ™

Edit - typo galore oops loo

X force tactical is a well respected retailer in the Australian gel blaster scene they have an USA site. If their US site is anything similar to the Australian retailer youā€™ll get good service.

https://xforcetacusa.com/product-category/gel-blasters/smg/

They have LDT blasters in stock which are considered nice high quality blasters in Australia.

Other choice blasters from them would be the Double Bell AKs, the JG M4, any of the metal MP5s, or the Cyma M4 if youā€™re on a budget.

Avoid the Wells.
