Shake, RATTLE(r) and roll...(Or... double time , double up!) MCX RATTLER

its actually a bit weighty.
I’d guess around 1.8 kgs… i’ll measure it later.

It feels solid, secure…but still light enough for a all day game.

I got it because its $200, and should (hopefully) be a easy pull apart, for a spring and oring upgrade.

Get it around 300 fps…done.

I suspect all it’ll really need is a spring upgrade…

it keeps giving me terminator AR18 vibes…albeit a bit shorter…

Sounds like you have a project on your hands.

I wonder how you could change the handguard.

The SIG is nothing like the AR18 to me but if it floats your boat and close as you can get then go for it. Because why not, need MOAR blasters.

Think the Rattler is around 3kg. Don’t have to measure it, was just curious :+1:

Wouldn’t it be easier to take the stock off an M16a1, change the handguard and customise the wiring and handguard to have the battery in the front if you’re going for the ar18 look?.

Muthafacko’s… Why do they get all the good :poop:

:face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::joy:

Y’know… it just occurred to me…

closest thing we have to a AR18 is…

Its pretty damn close…front wired battery…just remove the rear stock and viola…!!

Dammit…auto self suggestion…have i hypontised myself…?

That would complete my " Arnie Collection…"

why is my credit card tingling.?.?!

Here ya go beemer, something to push you over the finish line,

I found one cheaper for you

You’re welcome :smirk::joy:

When you get one, I’d love to take it a squiz at it, Beemer.

Sig 550 long boy’s been on my list for quite a while. :+1:

I only ended up with the 551 because ausgel sold out of the 550 right before I was about to buy it, then I thought I’d go the 552 but hummed and harred and that sold out too so went with the 551. I paid $250 from ausgel during one of their 50% off sales… I was spewing, but still love my 551, just need another takedown pin for the handguard, one day lol

"You cant get that, at 50% off…!!..

WRONG!!"

Have to get a mag doubler / linking system…

so you can have the longer, linked curved mag look…

That’s the biggest catch with the sig 55x…
Mags have been out of stock for years, and are only available second hand… usually require purchasing a blaster to get them.

Doubler system built into the magazine

Not sure if they interlock one up, one down tho

Edit: no, apparently it locks them side by side unfortunately, you would have to remove the built in doubler and find a suitable adaptor to double mount them one up one down

Apparently m4a1 has them in stock

Go on @BME you know you wanna :joy:

Nope they won’t lock one up one down.

If I were Beemer I’d be doing what you said, dremel off the coupler nubs and either just gaffer tape two mags together or use 3M double sided foam.

Yea side by side, pisser is you need another one to do that. They were a bit exxy and stale to start with why they never took off I guess. Not worth making more. I dunno.

Iconic platform. :+1:

Seen a pic somewhere years ago of some yanks with about 20 coupled together. Of course they would

( Pic to follow in a minute)

So, i got the Sig apart, and the spring change, up to M100 done.

However…

Pulling the gearbox out of the receiver, one of the semi selector gears fell off.
The ambi screw goes through the gear, and into the nylon gear box.

Trouble is, i dont know…
1: which way the gear faces…and…
2: which way the gear was positioned…and…
3: now its loose, how will i get it through the tight receiver, back in place, with the gear staying put.??

Help …?

This gear has come loose. Call this side, the " Off centre side"

Other side of the gear…

Call it, the " smaller circle side".

If the “smaller circle side” is down, facing the gearbox…it seems to mesh better with the other gear…but the offside circle side is protruding .

also, its loose. How would you get it in, with it being loose?

My brain goes into meltdown mode with things like this if it’s not sitting in front of me and I’m trying to interpret a verbal description… must be some form.of dyslexia

Rok to the rescue!!

morning xforce opening tech run…!!

" Its only a quick, simple job…5 mins… trust me…!!"

They must love you down there…

I’d say bring it here but I’ve got one of your Sigs in pieces already and I’m busy tomorrow. :person_shrugging:

All good…
Jamie, i think, is the young tech there…

He’s really good, a couple of times , ive gone there at opening with a job that i just need some help with one step …

5-10 mins and done.

Thats how you look after customers…when its quiet on opening…!
