I could tell you that I usually disable the ambi fire select on my blasters in favour of a more positive single fire select setup, but that doesn’t apply to these Sigs. The safety lever that locks the trigger’s on the right hand side of the box… at least it is on the 550 and 552.
Ambi gears can be a pain on V2 things. G36 has the best ambi design, second to MP5s. Anyway…
I usually mark the ambi gears when removing the gearbox so I put them back in the same way. The gears toward the front of the box shouldn’t matter how they are in, but we aren’t dealing with precision made gears so sometimes clicking to the next tooth can change how the selectors line up in the end but not always.
It is usually a case of identifying where each side sits in semi auto position, and trying to line up and install in that position.
Sometimes the D shaped key wears a bit and gets some play, and gears wear with use and load, so I ALWAYS recommend NOT using the slave/right hand side (as you hold the blaster). If it is a little janky when you get it, using it will make it worse.
Yep, this above is exactly why I disconnect ambi… if I can. Unless of course it’s good ambi. I agree 100% on the G36 ambi… beautiful.
Why they can’t make them all like the G36 is a mystery… actually, it’s not… medinchina. Even solid nylon would be an improvement on some of the Wokesium horrors I’ve seen.
The ambi on my old SCAR H felt and sounded like it was grinding metal when I got it… that was the first thing I binned when I pulled it down. That right hand lever never gets used on any of mine and it made subsequent takedowns so much easier.
I would of tried it the other way and fiddled with it until I got it right. But as said pics on dissassembly for sure. Good excuse to go for a drive anyway.
Did you buy more blasters, might aswell while you’re there. I would
This was the LDT one I picked up second hand. Stock, has the bigrrr mosfet version ldx with tappetless head. Came with a bifrost tracer but not the stock muzzle and the sig Romeo. Good deal, very grateful I got on board 8 mins after it was posted for sale!
Does the expected 290-300fps you’d expect from the ldx equipped things.
But still more expensive than the LH which rocks out with just a spring!
And yes, not much battery space, and a pita the get in and out. I’ve added the grip that can pass through wires for a battery, just need to make an extension. Probably not going to do much with it, just bang it in the collection I think.
I do love the rattler look. The mcx legacy was just to have an MCX.
Probably not going to see much use or a field. Don’t plan to touch it until the mosfet kicks it… it’s a bigrrr so probably not long lol. If it does I’ll give it the Rok treatment. If not, fine as is… for now lol.
The LH is a fine option though, look the same almost, just nylon and a little proprietary vs metal (still polymer lower though) and V2 common stuff.
I’m still waiting to see BME turn an entire room of his house into a mock gel store with racks on every wall and a hook for his feather duster for his daily “Sadie The Cleaning lady” ritualistic routine, dusting them off whilst admiring them, complete with a sales counter where gets them down, gives a full demonstration, runs them through a chrono and sells them to himself
