Parts bin M4, CYMA metal box, chopped Noveske handguard. Inner barrel’s about 75mm long so only hitting just over 200FPS as is.
Slated for three teeth off the sector, cylinder porting, substantial spring upgrade, AOE correction / piston cushioning, should up the power a bit. I’ll be happy with 250ish.
Keen to see what chunky little nuggets others have cobbled together using an M4 as a platform.
Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of it, but built up a shortie M4 Gen8 that I forward wired and ran a PEQ Battery Box so I could run it sans Buttstock that ran an 110mm barrel… which was sorta restricted to what handguards were available at the time.
Was a fun little Machine Pistol basically and VERY short without any Stock fitted, but with the advantage of a decent sized Magazine capacity.
Just the bad rap the wells get. Back in the day they were a budget blaster that worked great after a bit of bench time if you are up for it. Less than my LH Steyr AUG, and a lot less than my pre production AK74L. Was a test model to give feedback to the manufacturer after it got tested by a forum member.
Spent 2 whole days straightening the AK74L out, the metal front end was not straight, front sight was uts, despringed and re oringed it. Re did the magazine well was UTS as I could see what the problem was and why it was misfeeding. The bloody magwell extension shit was not allowing the mag to lock in the correct place. Grinder out and sorted that out. Bingo, now we are on. In the bin you go with that mag thing.
Now the AK is rocksolid 300fps all day and very accurate. When you go winchester it weighs 4.5KG just dong em on the head with it
What mag have you got in yours @Friendly_Fire I like the og look of that I do have a full size M16A1 ish that is V2 and takes G8/9 Mags.
It’s sort of short, my SLONG gearbox wells junkyard bitsa. The hopup sits about 2 inches back from the end of the suppressor so it could be shorter, just need a shorter suppressor or outer barrel, that was the plan but the thing shoots so well I can’t bring myself to change it!
