more meat for me then. huzzah!
Want a few hundred lambs? Come and get em ![]()
Yeah that’s honestly a fair point of view to have and I fully respect you for it. You’re not wrong that you’re kind of getting hung out to dry, and I wouldn’t blame you for not voting Labor next election.
I’ll still be putting then as #2, after Shooters and Fishers (who seem to at least have the rural working man as their priority). But that’s what I love about Australia. We aren’t beholden to that divisive seppo nonsense.
We can still respect each other when we disagree on the best outcomes for the most people. Because ultimately, that’s what we both want. What’s best for those most in need. And right now a sizeable part of that is the small time Aussie livestock farmer.
I’ll vote for shooters and fishers party so I can try and get gel blasters legal in NSW haha.
i can try.
It just shits me, average people like yourself, the prices on the shelf are absolutely ridiculous.
Even when 1 year ago I was getting good price for a 26kg live weight lamb at $100/hd. Then they have four legs of lamb each and they were retailing for around $20-25 ea. Then you have your favoured loin chops, ribs, neck, shanks etc etc (I’m not a pro butcher) so of course transport that I pay for comes out of that $100. Then it gets butchered and packaged so cost there, then transported to the shelves in your local coolies.
For it to all change in 6 months and covid can not be blamed what’s changed? I blame coolies for the most part being unrestricted in their pricing, but also the Gov for not doing anything about it which they damn well can and have done in the past.
Average Joe Aussie citizen is not buying as much home grown meat at the moment as it’s bloody expensive.
The live export by boat thing will officially be cancelled by the Ag minister by the end of this month by the looks(edit actually it has been extended to Oct 25 far out
), he does have the power to overturn the Govs policy of stopping it but it doesen’t look good. The event where a couple thousand died in 2017 during transport from Australia was a freak weather incident but also that countries poor handling of the stock. The market crashed I lost a heap of money as I sold lambs when that broke. $10/ head. The calls were thick and heavy to ban that then, but the in power gov kept it going thank christ and sales bounced back soon after. With some immediate stipulations like 30 extra on board vetinarians. But really what can you do when Australia does not even own the ships. It’s the purchasing countries ship they send over to pick up the livestock. It’s on them when it leaves our shores.
Anyway a sore topic for me. Shits me to tears. I’m done with my disgust in politics. Dutton can get fucked too, he’s turned into a rambling idiot of late. I used to like him as defence minister as he did some great things for the ADF, sole reason we are now starting to receive new blackhawks to replace those taipan heaps of eurotrash.
Anyway, FUCKING LOVELY DAY out here!! It’s Friday, jobs are done time for a nice cold beer and soak up the sun. ![]()
Going down to the Murray tonight to try and yank a redfin out. My brother said the fish are jumping out if the damn water, at sundown. View is gonna be gorgeous.
Worse comes to worse, hoping to catch a carp for the kitty. Reckon he’d have a blast devouring one of those.
Should have no problem getting a carp, gone bonkers when it flooded.
Hey had anyone had luck selling on facebook? I put up a wetech a while back on here with not much luck. My mums down looking after my kids for the next week of school holidays and offered to seĺl stuff for us on facebook. So did up an ad, and it got knocked back. Did the same as others on facebook and drew all over image with (toy gel blaster) and tried again and no deal. Wtf
Facebook won’t let me list gel blasters… against Facebook standards, they say. Even though other people seem to have no problem listing them. ![]()
So over fucking Marketplace… every ad I put up for guitars or amps draws three or four scammers, then nothing for a few days, then the serious buyers come out. They’re either working in the mines out west, out of town or unwell and want to send their brother or the UPS guy around after a PayID transaction.
The conversation dies after a “Cash on pickup only” message.
If I have to tell one more buyer from Azerbaijan, Lithuania or Alaska to fuck off, I’m gonna shut down my profile… fuckers! ![]()
Yeah so just got back from gym turns out the second ad got her banned as well. For frk sake. Yeah thats what i dont get, others have ads up. Why a double standard? May have to have an old school garage sale
.
Yeah i know what you mean with scammers, i get the same on gumtree, but have not sold anything in a good while. But had that crap with our car recently.
My ex missus got in contact with me because she advertised her XY Falcon for sale on Spacebook and Marketplace…… and only received nothing but scammers or ridicule from uneducated idiots without a dollar in their pockets or an ounce of knowledge about classical muscle cars ![]()
It’s a full nut and bolt restoration with the very best components that money can buy, with many parts that we got built in the USA and shipped to Australia, plenty of custom hand made features that I incorporated into the build, took us 8 years to build at a cost of $200k plus……… even with me doing most of the work myself and using my business contacts to get the very best in the industry to pitch in and produce probably one of the very best XY Falcons on the market.
Advertised for $110k, less than half of the build cost, only 2000 klm since built and has no other XY Falcon in the country with the many big dollar custom built features as this thing has.
All she got in reply was the standard scammer stories mentioned above, and a ton of broken arse idiots commenting that “it’s not a GT, it’s not a Phase 3” etc…….yeah, no shit Sherlock, it wasn’t ever advertised as being one! ![]()
I have driven many highly expensive original XR/XW/XY GT’s and Phase 3’s, even a “Phase4” powered XA Falcon ex-Police Pursuit car, and can honestly say that the legend is larger than the actual true life experience ……… as they might have been “groundbreaking” at their time in the late 60’s/early 70’s, but compared with a modern day vehicle, a Grandmother’s HYUNDAI shopping trolley could match the same performance these days!
So basically, the XY that she is selling makes a Phase 3 look like a Toyota Corolla and is loaded with a high amount of modern features that the standard original GT’s could never dream of offering.
At the end of the day, it’s more beneficial staying away from the shitshow that is Spacebook/Market Place and try finding specific clubs/hobby enthusiast groups who have the knowledge and brains to appreciate the value of the product that you are selling.
Now try and visualise the amount of time and money spent to produce the vehicle below from what we started out with……….
All bodywork completed in brand new hand formed panels and steel repairs…… absolutely NO aftermarket Rare Spares shit Chinese “steel” parts.
Electronic Fuel Injected 408 Cubic Inch/6.7 litre V8 Stoker Engine built in the USA to my personal specs/instructions, billet alloy accessories bracket with billet serpentine belt system pulleys/components, and Dyno tuned by a NASCAR specialist (so ignore the original 351 cu in number plates!), with custom built Gearbox modified to suit 1000 hp.
Extensive modifications to the steering column/chassis to retrofit later model XF Falcon power steering system.
Rear inertia belts custom fitted to run through parcel shelf and units secured inside the boot to inner wheel housings, along with hidden sound system with speakers mounted under parcel shelf/dash and hidden behind custom trim work.
Interior was custom made using five cow hides in blue leather and grey suede highlights with custom Basketball style stitching, custom coloured console/dash pad, (Consoles are only available in black, dash pads/armrests only available in black or brown), embroidered logo’s in the door trims.
Handmade gear shifter mechanism modified from a standard B&M unit to fit within the GT console, custom dashboard with imported special made blue background coloured instruments directly designed/ordered from AUTOMETER USA specifically for this vehicle.
Plenty more custom details inside and out, as well as mechanical modifications/improvements to the brakes/driveline/suspension etc.
Silver body stripes were sourced through myself contacting the FORD Motor Company directly and organised to have their suppliers of their BA etc GT models to ship to us the same decals that they fit to the factory GT models, but custom made to the measurements that I sent them to fit the XY body dimensions. ![]()
This thing is like a Ferrari compared with the original 1971 GT Falcons that were made way back then……. and yet people are giving her nothing but abuse about the asking price for this vehicle?

I’m just wondering if I will get a single penny from the sale for all of my money and blood/sweat/tears that I invested for the 8 years building this thing! ![]()

I have owned a few xy Falcons in my time .
Yours is probably the best modified one I have seen.
I can appreciate the time and effort gone into building it.
And I would rather have that than a Ferrari anyday.
Fuckit place, glumtree , slezebay are not the place to sell something like this.
Car clubs, word of mouth and may be unique car magazine.would be the go.
At least your dealing with people who have some idea with what is involved with such a build.
I would love to buy it but the wife said if I want it .
It’s my turn to start turning trick’s to pay for it.
That XY is beyond drop dead gorgeous, Doc… it’s insanely beautiful.
It’s easy to see the effort, time and money you’ve sunk into it, it’s absolutely stunning.
Growing up a Ford nut in the '70s, XYs were the holy grail of cars for me… when it came time to buy my first wheels on my 18th birthday in '79 the old man and I headed off to the local dodgy used car dealer… and I mean dodgy. Sitting amongst his lot of about a dozen wholesale cars was a beautiful white XY Fairmont… $1,500, right on the limit of my budget, but man… I wanted it, love at first sight ![]()
The old boy had gone guarantor on my credit union loan and he was a Holden fan… there also happened to be an EH Special 149 sitting on that lot for $700. I guess the old man figured he was being a responsible dad and also figured his guarantorship gave him veto rights on my choice, I kept looking over the Fairmont, he kept dragging me back to the Special, telling me “You’ll walk away with change out of this one.” No prizes for guessing which car I drove home. ![]()
Lucky I did get change out of it, that 149 had to have a top end and gearbox rebuild within about two months… I guess the old man’s haweye vision was blind to the oil smoke on idle and the cloud of it out of the pipe on gear changes. Not to mention the flogged out king pins… repairs were all done by me, so I guess it was a good learning experience. ![]()
I never did get the bug to own an XY out of my system, 42 years later on it still needs a scratch whenever I see a good one.
I’m scratching now! ![]()
You can always join me on my local street corner.
Hours are 9pm-9am
Dress slutty
Damn… now I’ve gotta drag the fishnets and g-banger out of storage… again. ![]()
Finally, something to blow my money on now that I can’t buy blasters.
I dunno whether “blow” is such a good choice of word here, Jazz… ![]()
