The Shit Pit

Media is just one giant click bait.

I don’t read, watch, or listen to any news. Actually I never even tuned my TV since buying it years ago… Many years ago I made a great choice to be as ignorant to all news in the world as possible, as most of it is parroted corporate and government agenda.

It has been bliss, as they say ignorance is. I highly recommend it. Though it does make idle conversation a little more personal than political, not a bad thing.

Events like this are hard not to pay some attention to though. Not good. Hopefully sanity prevails, and something constructive comes of it. For now the worst of it for me was I read some news!

I watched it live my friend and fully understand. I think you miss my point of what I asked. I never said I hate trump or follow media which I do not for the simple reason I will investigate facts then make my own mind up based on non main stream media smear campaigns and I could not give two hoots of what anyone thinks because that bread you are eating, that meat you are eating, that woollen jumper you have on to keep warm during this cold winter is what I am making for the people regardless of their political views.

I think the whole thing’s off…

People tried multiple times to warn police there was someone on the roof with a rifle, nobody did anything until shots were fired.

From footage it’s clear the Secret Service sniper saw the shooter well before the event, but didn’t engage until after Trump was shot.

Listening to the recorded footage you can clearly hear a loud gunshot (Win300) followed by a series of less powerful reports (5.56). There are questions now as to whether the Service sniper fired first, which, when you consider the gunman was shot with a single head shot, makes one wonder if someone else was pulling the trigger on the AR.

Don’t shoot the messenger, just some of the questions flying around atm.

Apparently the building was outside of the security bubble. Strange oversight though.

At 120m away…??
And they don’t check / secure that elevated roof.?

Did somebody want this to happen.?

we’ll probably never know the full picture.

Yeah. Look at the whole picture. Zoom out. Who is Trump. He likes drama for attention.

Secret service was slacking from what I see there was civilians pointing the offender out and did nothing about it.

But hey got lots of media cranking at a time that is crucial in the run up.

I don’t hate Trump, I just do not like how he has done some things in his last term. Intelligence tells him pointless to do a strike on a Iraqi air base, nope he didn’t listen, got Destroyers, Submarines and France and the UK to fire TLAMS 140 odd iirc and they hit fuck all. Put a couple dents in the runway. Missed who they thought they were going to get Iran leaders even after intelligence said they have moved away. He still pushed on as a show of force.

Trump is wreckless.

the problem i have with conspiracy theories is that they rely on a wildly imaginative mind to see connections that don’t exist, use those to fill in the gaps to create a story that’s mostly fantasy and probably more interesting than what really happened.

This stems from a person’s lack of control over the situation/events and you create a story to gain control and have a sense of order.

The Americans as much I like them and have heritage there they want to have a step back and think before acting, Because of their constitution, and from what I’ve seen on forums that I frequent for ten years or more. Holy shit they got ammo.

FFire before mentioned a 300WM. I’ve shot one of those. They are accurate and they make a big boom pushing a 200gr 30cal pill at over 3000fps. They do cost around $5 a round in Australia. How he can miss at 150 meters or yards whatever. Well he’s a shit shot then

I do respectfully disagree. I see it from the other side of the coin.

There are a lot of crazy conspiracy theories out there for sure, but not everyone who questions things which appear suspicous can be said to have a “wildly immaginative mind”.

A lot of people commenting on this incident and pointing out the anomolies are very solid and credible in their fields, ex Protective Services, etc.

The trick is to not jump onto every crackpot theory while keeping an open mind to the possibility that some particular theories are plausible. Unquestioningly believing the rhetoric from politicians and journalists who’s profession is predicated on lies is not an approach in which I can indulge.

I don’t disagree with your reasoning, though the speed at which they evolve thanks to social media is insane.

I get both what @exakel and @Friendly_Fire are saying. I had some time to have a looksee and there was a retired EMT who the fire chief that got shot had some of his brain matter on his shirt and is very upset. You can’t make that shit up.

But on the other hand it has energized the general population Trump has ripped his speech up. Both Biden and Trump have spoken. Trump has got his VP a younger fellow JD Vance in which seems to be popular.

Seems like a massive party time over there today. I should go could do with a bit of time off after working for 9 weeks straight without a day off. :+1:

Whatever the truth of it all is, he’s golden now, almost a martyr… and it speaks volumes about Trump’s true character that his first thought after the incident was not for the people behind him who had been killed or injured.

It was all about grabbing a great photo opportunity to sell his image… no concern for anything else. Seems to me that any kind of empathetic person wouldn’t be clawing the Secret Service out of the way of the cameras and would be showing at least some concern for the dead or wounded.

I’ll go on record as voicing my opinion of Trump as a reprehensible demagogue who has no thought for anybody but himself and his personal agenda. The Four Corners special aired on the ABC last night pretty much reinforced my opinion. Can’t wait for part two.

God help America is all I can say… if he get’s in, which is highly likely now, get ready to sit back and watch the vengeful Trump send his shock troops out to round up the people who are opposing him now… much like the Nazi’s did in the 1930s.

I just watched Biden make his speech live and he did well while the fricken media attacked him. Biden attacked back at the particular NBC reporter.

I thought well done. Yes he’s old but his heart and mind are in the right place. Said it before and said it again.

Trump with his enterouge including his son whats his name making media and dramatize everything. That’s what he does. Did you mean DemiGod

He’s only 3 years younger than Biden.

Biden has served the US gov for over 25 years. Trump made a shitty show and built a building that he lost millions on while his son committed crimes.

Oh well god help America they’ll sort it out one way or another. I really hope they don’t take the foundation and bear arms. That’s just not going to go well. Not my country or my wheelhouse but I do have family there. God save the Queen :v: oh bugger that’s right she’s dead

People like put in and Xi want Biden in power cos they know trump isn’t scared of them.

But as the young kids say, “let 'em cook”.

Well, that’s probably what HE thinks :joy:

But I reckon the dictionary definition of demegogue fits Trump better than any of his Armani suits…

“A political leader who seeks support by appealing to the desires and prjeudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument. e.g. ‘a gifted demagogue with particular skill in manipulating the press’”

Sounds like the DemiGod Trump to me.

Haha well yes. Good to have a civilized discussion about it.

Not sure what you mean @exakel by “let them cook” maybe I’m too old or something.

Trump, Putin and Xi, na you know why. Trump will do under table deals with both of them and rocket boy. Maga see fixed it.

God help democracy, freedom, individual rights, global peace and security, and long term climate change.

trump will throw all that under the bus, to exalt and glorify himself, and profit from the presidency.

Instead of defending the constitution, he will most likely declare it obselete, use it for toilet paper, and try to install himself as president for life…
