The Shit Pit

Also make sure to lube the bucking rubber periodically with a good quality Silicone, which still gets some lubrication from the gas, but it’s also good maintenance practice along with everything else you mentioned to keep the temperamental b*stards operating efficiently :sunglasses:

ye my pistol is a leaky boi too, leaking oil all over the place. i was thinking teflon for slide rails to have the snappy boi slide maybe the gide rod also but everywhere else would be silicone.
dunno where id put it in gbbr tbh

Exacery and this is well known and translates to any gas blaster as they have similarities in function. But not form so you don’t and do not use things like Hoppes #9 for dissolving copper lead fowling or sweets that will melt your blasta.

Defiantly use something like the Abbey, it’s the right oilio for the job, you can use RC hobby shock oil as I’m into that I use that as have liters on hand, economies of scale and it’s the exact same.

Teflon, I have tried and don’t bother anymore because it seemed to dry out too fast. Silicone grease and silicone oil based is where it’s at for your gbb. Lube it and wipe it down then you shouldn’t have any leakage or you are putting too much on.

The grease I use is Inox MX6, food grade and is PFTE. Seems to and has worked good for years and is rubber friendly.

As you haven’t mentioned I do not know what Teflon lube you refer to, some are good and some are shit.

Just my xp and thoughts hope it helps :+1:

I have always used the abbey oil. Works well, safe for rubber seals. Easy to use too much and give the pistol a sweaty look for a couple days but that is safe not sorry way.
I have used the Ultraforce silicon spray cans when I am lazy and dont bother to tear it down, just rack the slide to the rear and give a quick squirt up into the nozzle/hammer area.
Also I have used moly grease very sparingly on the metal on metal areas, but only a light coating, and only really on the slide runners. Allegedly is rubber oring safe, and while I haven’t had an issue I also have been only using it where it is not near any rubber parts to be sure. It does help remove the sweaty oily pistol effect.

mate of mine used to do this back in the day with a BB mini m16 he bought out of the back of a people magazine, was a dope little rig, ran off 4 double a batteries, expandable to 8… sucks we can’t have them anymore. stupid nanny state bullshit

dunno if I should take the shot :joy:

I want to get a VR gun stock for my vr gaming sesh and no one sells them in the country that fit my controllers… I also bet customs will call it a firearm and whine about it.

Upcoming changes to the nursing home system…

2% surcharge on bond. On a $500 000 bond, thats $10 000 per year extra, to be there.
And , extra co-payments of around $ 18 000 per year, for private funded people.

So, if you are on the full pension, it still costs you nothing.

If you are a self funded retiree, who draws NO PENSION, NO PAYMENTS from the govt AT ALL… stump up $500k, and also pay an extra $30k per year.

This is basically a communist country, work hard, struggle to get ahead…and give it all to the govt. At times, you think why even bother…

I’ve had the opinion for a long time that the government, the medical profession and the pharmaceutical companies just look at our aged population as the ultimate cash crop.

My brother worked in aged care for years, still does, as an aged carer. He left the last nursing home he was placed at because he was constantly butting heads with the doctors and nurses over the unnecessary meds that were being pumped into the residents. Some of the medication was widely known to be completely ineffective for patients over the age of 70 but the doctors at the facility were happy to prescribe it daily to 90 year olds.

When he’d question why they were given those useless meds, they’d get snakey and tell him it wasn’t his job to second guess them. He figured part of his job as a carer was to look out for the welfare of his residents, no matter who told him otherwise, but it was pretty clear that Medicare was being rorted at the resident’s expense. He became known as a trouble maker and was unpopular with the medical professionals ( and I use that term loosely), so he left.

Makes me nervous about my future well being if I ever end up in a home…
