Yep, Queenslanders voted Labor out - didn’t voted LNP in. The swinging voters were sick of the inaction on youth crime and the excesses of the Palachook led government. Unfortunately our useless ALP local member got voted back in but at least she can now blame the LNP government for her screw ups and lack of support for the issues in the electorate.
When the last media led beat up on gel blasters was in progress, one of the LNP pollies got up in support of gel blasters as he and his kids played on one of the fields. Not sure how well the gel blaster community is connected in govt now that Peter Clark has passed
Knives is the biggest issue with youth at the moment, there’s a local group in a suburb near me that sits on the Main Street that has a bar that all of us boys like going to but recently haven’t been able to because the group that sits there just pushes knives against your throat and uses numbers so you can’t use any reasonable form of self defence to get out of the situation. The cops and security at the bar both know about the group and haven’t been able to do anything about them due to stupid policies. Realistically knives aren’t the actual issue because anything could be used as a weapon like the hammers I use at work could easily be used to intimidate someone the real issues are poor policies and a generational lack of respect for anyone or anything. I’m sure many of you blokes can confirm this but if that sort of shit happened back when you guys where growing up the police and community would deal with it in a simple and strict manner and the problem would quickly be resolved and people would straighten up pretty quickly.
You are right onto it Squidguts, a product of the breakdown of values, changes in Law “enforcement” and the normalisation of such activities through the Media have all led to the point where we are now.
If you carried a knife or a weapon back when I was growing up, it was considered that person was weak and unable to defend themselves… along with obviously being not right in the head 
Too many Laws protecting the criminals these days, which makes Security Guards and even the Police pretty much extremely hesitant to intervene in these situations.
I have quite a few mates in the Force, both active and “retired”, who have all said that the legal system and their Authority has been all but eroded to the point where they are putting themselves at risk of prosecution personally from criminals themselves in the course of their duties

I commented yesterday that every time Trump talks publicly about how the presidential campaining’s going he always uses the first person… “I’m winning”,
“I’m beating her”, etc. as if it’s just him and him alone… arrogant and shows his messiah complex.
When Harris talks about polls she always uses the collective… “We want to build a better future”, “Together we can make make things right”, etc. like she’s representing a party, which she is. Definitely a more humble approach.
From the rhetoric it’s obvious Trump’s a massive narcissist, like a school boy who’s bragging about beating everyone else in a relay race.

A fair guess, Trump won’t back out of AUKUS as it benefits USA. They get money from AUS to build their military infrastructure. Which they already have some. Billions. Also they have the worlds biggest unrestricted land based missile testing range to play on. Nuclear waste disposal which also UK already does in a warehouse in Melbourne. Lots of little things that make Australia handy to have around.
Read the other day USMC is upping the Darwin rotation of 2500 to 16k Marines. Plus the airbases are being upgraded and partially done to accommodate B1, B2, B52. They just did a stop and go the other week here for some gas on their way to bomb fuck out of the Houthis.
