Gel blasters listed on Facebook Marketplace in Queensland present legal risks interstate - ABC News Gel blasters listed on Facebook Marketplace in Queensland present legal risks interstate - ABC News

Hmmm…

My batteries have worked perfectly for me and mum, the past few years…

Her sungrow batts, have been 100% fault free performers, since day one.
Mine, when i had bought the house, had gen2 LG batts installed.

They worked fine, but were subject to the recall (contaminated batch materials).
I had them replaced with the Gen3 16 kw/h batts ( never had a contam problem) and they have been faultless performers as well.

Both have brought about there desired effect, essentially off grid, drawing next to zero from the grid, and accumulating refunds.

Bottom line, the setup works well, and we are still grid connected. That would be the case for the vast majority of urban adopters. Sorry to hear your setup has issues, but i assume you have a much greater elec load, and the batteries aren’t enough.

Due to the rebate, demand is going through the roof, the govt is only allocating a certain amount of $$ to this, and once its gone, its all over…

For those who don’t indulge in Fakebook… ABC scare mongering again, but some disturbing stuff in this article.

And, on last nights news, some idiot threatened a welfare check worker with a gel blaster…

Big armed police response…

We all hate idiots like that…!

But, as we have said, 6 deaths in 6 years from people threatening with gel blasters…knife crimes are a way bigger problem.

Very strong support for castle laws in Australia too.
Rightly so.

If some one breaks into your house, you should be able to defend yourself, without worrying about legal consequences…

No, I have less electricity demand than near everyone on this forum.

We’ve discussed this in the past but I’ll say again. I can’t output more as the only line I have is 5KV Swer line and the rebate has been reduced to 6 cents on my dealio the best I can get as get a further discount being RAA member.

So I can’t put an 8KV system on or anything like that. Legally not allowed. 5 max.

Other farmer friends near me are same and are getting slugged 2 and 3 plus grand bills.

I’ve gone through all of my electrical system myself and also payed for it to be checked by a certified and qualified electrician that does factory fire systems as his normal crust and got the certificate I had to get as the power supplier said oh something wrong with mine.

I know I use less power than just you yourself would use.

Again had a f up early this year, yep coming to put a smart meter on. I said ok you are aware I’m on 2 meters I can not legally change so which one is it. Oh yea we know, and umm eerr. I said ok. This is going to be funny.

Sparky rolls up, on time, opens the power box door then shuts it. Nope can’t touch it as need SA power networks here to disconnect from the grid. Not legally allowed. We both laughed as that was number 5 for the day for him. Said they are having morning meetings trying to sort this shit out. Oh well I’ll drive around some more to the next one and probably can’t touch that either

Can’t remember the watt usage right now but I have cut it right back so my bill is under a grand per quarter. That involves turning on the hot water only when I need it and when I’m away all day in the paddock on the tractor shagging sheep everything is off.

I get it’s different in a CBD as you are connected to supplies and have things like gas and mains water. I don’t, so have to pump water out of the ground, which costs not much at all as I have an efficient setup.

Hopefully that clears some differences up champ :+1:

That is shocking reporting and still shaking my head.

ABC be part of that fear mongering machine.

Hmmm…
blatant and outright bribery…

Or worse…??

Normalising outright crime, in plain sight…

Huh I don’t follow as been on the road covering K’s.

But here’s some good news. I’m in labour and giving birth to babies

Qatar royal family want to “give” drumpf, a 12 year old, $400 million Boeing747-800, a flying palace, as a “gift”.

For absolutely nothing in return…yeah, right…

To go to his "presidential library trust’, after he leaves office…meaning its his…

Not even bothering to hide the crimes now, he thinks he’s above all law, and untouchable…

Good luck with the puppies…!!

Don’t wanna know how you got pregnant, and in labour…maybe matching the federal govt…?!

Screwed by Albanese.?.?

I’ve read about the two VC-25 replacements that Boeing is fking around with and now need more money as they are a palace with wings that were ex presidential somewhere over in that desert and have been working on both since Trumps first term in Office as he ordered them.

747-8i. I think both you and I know with Dump Tariffs, Qatar here will this help. What a fkhead

Sure I told you that last year. But anyway :+1: Not any of my business.

There’s a story in today’s Courier saying Sydney and Brisbane are the most expensive cities in Australia to build in, with a significant decline in productivity from construction workers one of the causes. (averaging 2.8 days a week of productive work).

There were a few photos amongst the story (including the usual CFMEU thugs), but this one stood out, as the caption underneath said “There is no suggestion this worker is not productive”.

And, no chance of this being @shadow187 as he says he only does night shifts :grinning:

Great, great, fantastic…
Thanks for the private jet…
Now, how is my golf course construction going.??

Normalising abuse of office, for personal gain.
Expect 4 more years of this.
Crime in absolute plain sight…not even bothering to hide it…

Presidential immunity…!!

And, its not a crime because trump says its not…
what a joke…

I see that shit all the time and it does happen quite often, but it’s circumstantial

Couple things to note,

Firstly, that’s not the company I work for :joy:

Second, that might not be a traffic controller, that could be one of the other workers leaning against the TC ute, but I doubt it

Third, if it is a TC he “could” be doing paperwork as all of the paperwork at my company is digital, they gave us a tablet to use but the one the ones they gave us were slow as shit. so I downloaded the app and logged in on my phone as it operated much faster and efficiently

Fourth, he “could be on break” albeit he shouldn’t be making himself visible to the public whilst on a break

Fifth, we are allowed to be on our phone if it’s work related, eg if the supervisor or client calls us for whatever reason, as long as we are not controlling traffic, pedestrian watch or other duties where we must be paying attention to the traffic, pedestrians, work vehicles/equipment etc

Sixth, it’s a road closure, he has secured the position, his job now it to ensure no one enters the closed road, looks to me like no one will be able to get through. whilst he is manning his position, he shouldn’t be on phone in sight of the public

Seventh, I often have to be on my phone on google maps doing a measure up to calculate where my signage and tapers need to start, depending on where I am and what I’m doing, but usually I am away from the public eye unless I’m showing the client to confirm it’s the correct location, structure, etc

The takeaway is, although it’s highly likely the guy in the picture is likely not doing something work related on his phone, there are legitimate purposes for being on your phone on a worksite, but if you do have to be on your phone, it should be away from public view as much as possible, but it’s not always possible

While I agree with you what has it got to do with you. Let them do what they do, and they will and always have but find out in the end. We’ve all just got to get along. And it will happen one way or another.

Some things I think are great that he’s done, then nekkminit it’s a curveball. Be greatfull you are part of the Commonwealth. Queen Liz was pretty awesome in my books and we’d make up a Colouring of the flag that was specially made and I think that was one of the many British success stories that actually is working. We have to just follow through as she’s 7ft under.

The yanks always have and always do want our help, and we do with the little we have. They just got to stop bloody shooting at us when we are in theatre. Which just spoke to my Uncle recently and he had direct comms to the door gunners. Didn’t matter anyway, shut the lid, ignore, advance they are not responding.

This media crap about China circling Australia. Ah the ADF could see them coming and reported it for weeks. Like my Uncle said they only got a pop gun on one frigate wouldn’t even reach the shore. China did one thing that is courtesy is to issue a NOTAM which they did not do. That’s all.

Doesn’t matter as likely you didn’t see that E7 wedgetails and P8 Posiedons were up and just watching. Just like China having a look at the American submarine parked near Perth for maintenance.

But anyway nice chat  where’s my Pizza
