3k of water/retardant on the floats 15 sec fil, bit longer as they have had to do tarmac pump refills for our deep creek fire.
They got sirens on all air assets to alert ground crew get outa the way or you’ll get crushed by tons of water.
These small planes sortie and drop more liters of water in a day than the impressive VLAT’s(737, C130). They take longer to fill, must refill at a tarmac. In the time it takes for the bigger planes to turn around an 802 has done 5 drops all ready. The pilots are used to low level flying to start with as that is all they do when they are fitted with boom sprayers along the wings and do crop spraying. Seen a few do that locally, pretty impressive. That’s got to help, always low altitude. They are more maneuverable in hilly tight terrain where the bigger planes can’t get low enough to do an effective drop. Why helicopters are very good for this as well and can dip in to your backyard pool to fill.
The Aerotech Blackhawks SA has contracted which have been to Victoria, and WA and NSW, they are based here in SA. They do really good along with McDermott aviation and their Bell Hueys they are manufacturing from new and spare parts with the TDP.

After seeing the destruction an out of control fire can do right here in 2014 I have utmost respect for all that try against it. Was dismal in my fire, had 20 local units fighting a 80k Hectare fire and no aerial assets. Just let it burn… my kilometers of fence and couple thousand acres of pasture for the sheep. Thanks for nothing. A crew rolled up from Vic Geelong overnight, had no idea where they were, had no food and everything local for food is shut as Saturday. Oh well raided my fridge and knocked em up a barbie to get started and got hold the local chief which he had no idea they were otw

I somewhat agree with it. We are far from what they wanted, technology is not there yet. Gazillions of dollars spent on shit that does not work. Got to slow your roll, research and test first before mandating it. It will take a lot longer than what they think.
You only need look at the computer Industry and how fkd up that is because of the AI push. Glad I upgraded mine when I did as I keep a bit of an eye on things, which was a decade old for business and bit of gaming. The same exact parts prices today are insane.

Being back out bush, it’s always hard to keep in touch with family and friends.
Awesome to hear that she’s still kicking goals not only in the music industry, but also with her artwork that she promotes to bands and venues for either Album Cover Artwork, Merchandise or Tour flyers.
Here’s an example of where she was SO happy to be approached by yet another famous old school band looking for her artwork to promote their latest tour here in Australia.
As usual, I never have any idea who the hell she’s talking about, no matter how world famous they are, I ALWAYS have to Google Search most of the Bands and people that she tells me about! so will just share a screenshot a small part of our conversation tonight followed with the Wikipedia article about the Band that is wanting to contract her for their upcoming tour and merchandise materials.
