The Shit Pit

Detroit has a genuine Robocop statue…
installed in 2025…

I wonder, did he have a auto -9 originally.??

Crime what it is, and all that…!!

'Murica, where even the statues have guns.
Detroit, where they steal guns from statues :stuck_out_tongue:

F#ck off. This is beyond a joke

its not too bad… Qld laws remain pretty much the same.

  • No limits on cat A/B ( unlike NSW…limit of 4 )
  • most new laws target crims… stealing / possesion / illegal 3d printing real weapons etc.
  • Gel blasters remain legal…big win.

When i spoke to QLD police, they admitted they weren’t 100% sure on the changes on b709’s…they only had one briefing…

Most of the laws target criminal activity…law abiding citizens would have no trouble with that…

3D printing remains an 'Unknown" area.

‘Paul’s Botique’ had the worlds most detailed 3d printed files, for the pulse rifles…

I understand he had advice, to permanently delete those files, as he could potentially be found to have been in breach…

Thats the thing … these new laws are unclear, ambiguous, and untested.

No one wants to be the first person, to be charged under them…and ultimately find out how a judge rules on them… A La Peter Clark.

The safest thing to do, is delete content.

No one knows if that is ultimately neccessary, or simply being overly cautious…

But, better safe than sorry, if you don’t want a lawsuit…

Why? They seem to be some of the most commonsense given the circumstances.

I knew what the above Christofili proposed a month ago and thought that’s fair for LAFO nothing changes.

I’m not sure about your gripe with it. Feel free to edumacate me, or not.

In a months time, I’ll be banging on if there is any changes at all in my state as we’ve already got most of it in place for decades. :man_shrugging: wait and see.

That’s ballsy and a good watch :+1:

Thafuk is that white stuff?
I doubt that you have ever seen it in SA, and I’ve given up driving all the way to Bluff Knoll here in WA when “Snow” has been reported on its peaks.

By the time you drive all the way down there and take another few hours climbing to the peak, it’s ALWAYS melted and disappeared!:face_with_diagonal_mouth:

53 years old and never seen Snow my entire life.

Spent most of my 20s snowboarding at Mt Hotham and Falls Creek in Vic, Doc.

Trust me, mate… the novelty wears off real quick when you spend a lot of time in the white stuff.

Ya what. You sound like 89

Na I’ve been east coast Mt Hotham, Thredbo, Buller, Hotham and Falls Creek. Years ago, launched a toboggan, did a binner on the skis overtaking Dad, went tits up on the lift. Was great fun  :+1:

I have seen it here last year, but it is not ski worthy. Just ice on the yard. Not even enough to make a snowman like I did with Dad at Hotham :joy:

There is one common thread with snow boarders and skiiers - bad or broken backs

Ya got that right

Don’t forget the knees.

And I thought it was just from Dirtbikes and Women, I’ve had to get on my knees in the past… didn’t work :joy:

My Aged Care govt shafting…

So, mum was approved for a package…about $900 per month.

Got her a falls monitor pendant, which requires a subscription.

Equipment cost about $600…all out of the package…fair enough.

Ongoing subscription… $50 per month…was allowed from the funding…good.

Now, the govt has revised the rules.

Ongoing subscription fees Cannot Now come from funding.

Pay for it yourself, out of your own money…!!
:rage: :rage: :rage:

What utter rubbish…!!

I would think nearly Every elderly person, would need a falls monitor …absolutely vaild use of the funds.

But , the govt now says " Pay for it yourself".

Many people wouldn’t be able to afford that now…
And, they say they want to keep people out of nursing homes…!!

Maybe next tax installment, i’ll say " Pay for it yourself !!"

Disgraceful how they treat lifetime tax payers…

Holy crap, I’ve heard through some medical friends/family that the things under the cover are not going for the better as they claim on MSM.

It stems from the top, make the right choice next go round.

That’s not on. Sorry got busy and nearly put my Ford in the pit fkn ell code brown it’s a long way down.

The system is completely unbalanced…the full pensioner gets a free ride, the self funded retiree gets raped , and minimal contributions…

Person A:
If you are a fully funded pensioner…you get your full pension ($30k) + aged care payments. Tier 1 , thats $11k per year…total govt cost around $41k per year…

And, minimal co-contributions (5%) when you use the govt money for aged care services…

Person B:
Mum…self funded retiree. No pension (saving the govt around $30k year)
Gets $11k a year for aged care…BUT… has to pay co-contributions as you access the services.

Yet to be finalised, but maximum is 80% contribution…!!!

i.e. someone picks you up, to take you grocery shopping. Cost… $200.

Person A: Fully funded from aged care budget. $10 co-contribution, from their pension.

Person B: you pay $160, out of your own pocket. govt pays $40.

Tell me how this system is remotely fair.??

Assets based, perhaps? :person_shrugging:

The final amount will have to be calculated, and determined.

The irony is though, with mum, she is actually on less income than the full pension. disadvantage 1

For the $200 example above, that is fully paid for out of person A’s “aged care supplement”. They pay a 5% contribution out of there pension

For Mum ( and others), i Believe the $200 should be claimed out of her aged care supplement. It is not…she has to pay $160 out of her own pocket.

Given she draws No Pension, saving the Govt $30 000 per year, that would be fair and appropriate use of govt money.

But, they dont see it that way.

Use your money first, we’ll barely chip anything in.

Mum is by no means a wealthy person, yes she has an investment property, but cashflow is less than the pension.

It sucks…you work and pay taxes all your life, and at the end, when you actually could do with some assistance, they basically say…

" Nope…spend all yours first".

Being able to spend the aged care supplement, should not be constrained in that manner…mum hasn’t cost the govt a cent for many years…

There’s been another Bondi incident

Watch out, now they’re Gunna ban knives
