Well, to be fair, they require returns from people off pension with assets and investments so they can track any changes like an income rise from rental increases, etc.
I mean, you might know the conditions aren’t going to change but the ATO aren’t going to take your word for it without a yearly return.
It’s one of the few upsides of being on a full pension… no returns, they already know your income without any input from you.
The downside being… you’re on a pension.

All I meant was if you’re onto it and do it yourself directly through the ATO you can do it without paying a tax agent to do it for you

Good in the tank for 6 to 12 months. If you store it properly it’s good for well over a year.
Unleaded on the other hand, 3 to 6 months in your tank and then it’s gone.

Yes mate like Friendly fire said, mostly diesel so lasts a long time.
Petrol, that barely lasts a month which I also use but not as much and I(thanks to DocBob’s advice) now just use BP or Shell 98 even for stationary auger motors or the sheep rounder up AG bike so that lasts longer than 91 ULP but I also put this stuff with Diesel or ULP. Seems to work and fuel of both types still work good months later. The fuel doc additive helps with the few thousand ltr fuel tanks as gremlins and moisture tend to build up over time apparently.
I have modern common rail turbo diesel as well as old diesels. The modern Diesels can be picky on quality but I’ve never had trouble with those using a pre filter along with the additive. The modern diesels can be very expensive to fix. Local servo had a failed underground tank that let water in, there was 3 new V8 Landcruisers that had destroyed motors from filling up there. 
Even the old Diesels choke like what happened to me recently. Was cropping 5klm away. Needed diesel. Hooked up the 1000ltr fuel trailer and took it out and fueled the tractor up 180ltr tractor tank. Cool lets go. Got half way around the paddock and bla. Ah fk, there was water in the fuel cart wasn’t there and choked the filters up with crap sludge. Ah, had to drain some of the tank and replace the filters and bleed it etc. 
That was a me fault though as been sitting for a year and the fill hose had cracked on it letting water in to the cart. Thought na she’ll be right and was in a hurry. Lesson learned the hard way
Only the ULP I was having trouble with but @DocBob set me straight with that and haven’t had trouble since.
The full size fuel semi’s that deliver it for me costs no extra to deliver. They also have sediment and I often get a hey you want some parts washing diesel or fire starter I’ve got to drain the sediment trap on the fuel delivery truck. Sure save me using good fuel as I do that often.

Unfortunately modern unleaded fuel is loaded with highly aromatic compounds such as Benzene, Toluene and Xylene, which are highly evaporative and cannot remain within the “fuel” when exposed to oxygen.
This is the MAIN reason why modern vehicles and machinery have “fully sealed” fuel systems.
It’s not because of “environmental” protection, it’s because unlike Leaded Fuel, modern Unleaded simply evaporates into thin air.
Because of this, Unleaded fuel only lasts a couple of weeks at the very most before the bulk of the additives completely disappear and it turns into dishwasher.
I always run my Unleaded vehicles between half to a quarter tank of fuel to ensure that they always have fresh fuel in them, basically only fill them to half a tank and refuel them when they get down to a quarter or less, so that they never have fuel sitting in them for more than a week at most.
Dead Unleaded fuel destroys spark plugs instantly, and can also seize injectors/mechanical components along with destroying rubber fuel lines/diaphragms/
seals etc.
This obviously applies to small machinery, motorbikes and anything else that runs on unleaded fuel, which unfortunately MANY of my Customers and @Maiphut found out the hard way!
