@shadow187
You’re seriously having a bad streak with these things, hey? :flushed:

So is the motor cooked or just the battery? :person_shrugging:

@Maiphut
Check out what I’m drinking with my roast dinner tonight?

If it’s got a sheep on it, it’s gotta be good.

Definitely not having much luck with blasters full stop, it’s definitely frustrating and depressing as fuck but what do you do when you’ve already sunk so much money into the hobby? Sink more in to try and fix the issue and cross your fingers it doesn’t happen again I guess :man_shrugging:t2:

No idea on the motor, it was warm through the hand grip but not boiling hot n smoking like the battery was, about to get ready for work so troubleshooting will have to wait

Unless there was a lock up of the gears, a chronically jammed barrel or a short somewhere there’s no reason for that battery to go Chernobyl on you. :person_shrugging:

Another one for the bench.

I’ve got a couple of stock motors I’ve pulled out of blasters, if they’ll help I’m happy to donate. Just shout out

He was around the back of the forest of palm trees in my back yard plinking at the back shed in semi when it happened

I was busy unclogging a JM m4a1 that kept jamming with original oranges, and loading one of the tec-9’s for my daughter to use and all I heard was

“Dad I think the batteries going flat”

Then next thing he’s saying there was smoke coming out,

Look up, shit… Fuckin dropped the m4 on the couch and rushed over, pulled the pin, stripped the hand guard off and frantically unplugged the battery n rushed further away and placed it on the pavers well away from everything

The problem in facing ATM is mixed information

Google says (provided by geltactical)

Yet their website listing for the sig 551 says 480 long
As does ausgel so it’s confusing, especially when they say it’s a V2 gearbox and have the wrong item listed in the package contents

Ausgel have these but it’s a short motor

Sorry to hear about the battery and sig mate, not a good run of luck there, hopefully that’s the end of the bad luck for a while for you.

Most likely a short I’d guess… there is little room for wires and so many metal edges in them it is pretty likely that is the cause. There is videos on these in airsoft version to help rear down.

They are a mid length motor. It is very unlikely the motor is faulty as JG motors are typically pretty good.

Yeah I’d say it’s probably best for me to get the gearbox and motor out first before ordering a replacement anything

Yup, a short in the wiring is the reason for 99% of battery fires.

Definitely open it up before attempting to plug another battery into it.:+1:

If it’s anything like Beemer’s Sig, pulling it apart to check for shorts is likely to produce more bare wires to short out.

Rok’s bang on, so many sharp edges and tight clearances to cause damage.

But you have to do it… no other option. :person_shrugging:

If there was a cry face emoji available for post reactions on the forum I would have used it in response to your comment :joy:

Beemers is a different brand Sig 552 tho isn’t it? Or is it a JG also?

Same JG. Different length.

Yep… Beemer’s is a JG. Only thing different is the handguard and outer barrel. :person_shrugging:

The trickiest part is freeing the battery wires from the upper when you’re pulling the box and that’s the most likely problem area if wires are going to be shredded. The insulation’s pretty tough though and on Beemer’s it had heat shrink on it.

A bit of a mixed blessing… adds a little more protection but makes getting them out that much harder being thicker.

The other 552 he has is a Le Hui. Might be nylon, but it’s a doddle to tear down compared to the JG.

Heya Doc🤙
Good to see ya still here😎
Looking forward to more of our shenanigans

Hey mate got friends that are sparkys and electrical engineers if you need any help i can give him a call :+1: hes great at this stuff

Cheers mate but I think that would be overkill and a bit pricey for a gel blaster, but I appreciate the offer

No worries mate just let me know by the way he just gives advice for free :+1:

From Substack, about Trump’s mission to China with a plane full of billionaire oligarchs… in particular, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple…

“He referred to Tim Cook as Tim Apple. Not Tim Cook. Tim Fucking Apple. The bloke has flown the CEO of the most valuable company in human history to Beijing and can’t remember the man’s surname. That’s the cognitive sharpness in the room when the world’s two largest economies sit down to talk semiconductors, rare earths and Taiwan. Tim Apple. Mate. Bring back Jane Newsreader and Larry Helicopter while you’re at it, you bewildered drongo.”

Ben Elton couldn’t write this shit, I swear.:rofl:
