Long day, 2morrow, especially with delays due ATC shortages…
I’ll wiggle the wings, as i go past…

Sure will with that knife
not as bad as a 16 hour train ride along the US west coast. dang that was painful.
Oh you are having fun aren’t you, let me guess you were the 737 that pulled that split s overhead around 1600hrs.
If it wasn’t you are stuck in sydney with a heap of screaming kids tearing the place apart because they can’t go on school holiday and blowing money like crazy.
Well. We were overhead ADL , around 1600ish …but overflew at 36 000,
Had a very “interesting surprise” into our arrival at Perth…
Not what you need, after a 12 hr day…
All safe and all good though…
Well you are alive so that’s the main thing.
A surprise in your pants you’ll be fine after a change of jocks. The Navy didn’t mean to lock you up, was training they swear.
The surprise wasn’t jock related…
It was occupied runway related…
Go around are always fun…
Just get a McPlant instead
Two all Leaf Pattie’s, special sauce, pickles , cheese…
On a dead squid bun…!!
Now you have got me hungry
Is that a McSquid
Now THERE’S an idea…
Bwahhahaha…
Pushbike cops, in the mall, at Perth…
1 male, 1 female…
Dude looked seriously bored…the woman was heads down, engrossed in her phone… I’m sure they would have rules about not doing that…
Just to prove a point, I jaywalked, in her peripheral vision….
She didn’t even look up…
Transfer to the Gold Coast, for a bit more action…!!
Must have been googling your rap sheet… sure … sure
Ok, who likes 80’s arcade games…
Oh, thats right…everybody…
I happened to stumble, over this old 80’s gem…on the arcade machine…
Tazz-Mania… ( not Jazz-Mania)
The premise is quite simple…
To clear the room, shoot all the “bugs” on the floor…
(you will die, if you touch them)
And, the walls are always closing in, to crush you…
Every room. has a different, type of monster…
The 3rd room, is called…“The Squid Room”…!!! im not joking…!!
You have 2 smart bombs… they kill all moving monsters, and stop the walls from closing…for a few seconds…
God, its so simple, but so addictive…
His blaster, has gel blaster range, and accuracy…!!
You can download MAME ( Multiple Machine Arcade Emulator ) , for free…
Have a crack…(which he shows, walking up the screen!!)
Oh heck are we getting to talk about emulation tonight? HELL yes, this timing is perfect.
I god damn love the MAME, I grew up with a couple hundred ROMs for one on my PC, and there’s some real good quality rips out there. I especially, ESPECIALLY loved the Alien vs Predator arcade games. I really wish that glorious sidescroller was available legitimately.
That’s an interesting little bullet hell/clearing game, the ricochet mechanic is pretty neat in particular. Reckon you could pull off some good tricks with that.
I’ve personally been figuring out how to hack my 3DS to run emulators, and managed to get that working with all kinds of things. Old DS titles, Gameboy, SNES, pretty much everything before the N64, including MAME. Might see if I can find a ROM for this on one of my sources.
I’ve also been building a Pokemon game collection (if any of you older fellers have kids that have grown out of it, toss it my way before putting it in a garage sale! <3).
Managed to get,
FireRed
Emerald
HeartGold
SoulSilver
Diamond
BrilliantDiamond
AlphaSapphire
SuperMoon
X
and Violet
Maaaybe Yellow, if my brother can find our old childhood copy.
Also bought a Gameboy Advanced SP, a DS Lite (to trade pokemon between GBA and DS games), and a Pokewalker (tamagotchi/step counter that interacts with HeartGold/SoulSilver).
…This is what I’ve been doing instead of buying gel blasters
I’m currently playing through SoulSilver (while my GF plays HeartGold and we trade each other the exclusives), which is a SUPER faithful remake of Gold/Silver for the original DS, before it went 3D. FireRed/LeafGreen is the same thing for the original games, which I’ll probably play next.
Wow…
Not wanting to brag, but…
I have a dinosaur collection , of the old 80’s C/D cell battery powered games…
And, the antique nintendo handhelds…
The arcade machine i have, emulates 6500 games…across multiple platforms…
including… yes, wait for it…
yes, hold your breath…
“Dragons Lair” !! …fully digitised…
It does NES / SNES / Gameboy/ atari Lynx /other platforms etc …it even does emulations, scaled up, fullscreen, of the old 80’s handhelds…!!
So many games, so little time… work does get in the way…
You should visit, when you come to QLD…the coin slot will be working…!!
Who could forget this monster…
That swallowed 20c coins, hours at a time, and childhoods…
It starts easy, but, it gets evil…
And, just for @DocBob
I’ll make sure to show up to BNE with a coin on a string
I had a chance to play the PC version of Dragons Lair back in the day, and my god even with the absence of 20c pieces that game was the devil to get through. I don’t remember it particularly well, because my long term memory is bad, but I remember dancing around a keyboard away from an evil cat, as Beethoven hammered out his 5th. I also remember having a hell of a time figuring out the Red Queen, and if I remember right a labyrinth inside that same level?
I’m not sure if I ever got beyond whichever of those two was later. But god damn, now I wanna chase blinking yellow lights.
