The Shit Pit

Yeah, another absolute joke of wasted taxpayer time and money on achieving nothing……. but these Ministers have no justify their jobs somehow, and looking to make a name for themselves at the same time

The hypocrisy in their comments and reasoning behind these reforms are laughable at best…… “removing 10 000 guns from the community”…… which still leaves over 350 000 out there, but hey, you should feel much safer with that knowledge and need to give them all a big round of applause :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The major thing missing in all of these articles, reforms and new regulations is that they NEVER mention anything about what they are doing to target/get rid of illegal weapons from tackling the criminal organisations that are responsible for gun crimes?

They always use “criminal gun incidents “ as the reasoning behind justifying new laws and legislation, and then attack legitimate legal registered Firearms owners as the major targets for reform?

Nine different licensing types being rewritten/introduced…… and yet not very long ago, they said that Gelblaster laws were impossible to implement, even though SA Government already had such laws up and running?

It’s a government shitshow as usual that does nothing to stop illegal activities and only punishes the law abiding citizens once again :rage:

It sounds like WA gov has a lot of issues in even attempting to mediate anything. Just flat out ban it, less paperwork and time, cost yeah too.
I guess it’s a governance thing, they find it hard to police the illegal stuff so they just shove some more regulations in to make it look good.
I mean where’s the controls and why was a certain private person allowed to buy $250k worth of the last stock of a type of powder from ADI Thales in one hit legally. When I now can’t even buy that powder at all.
What the fuck ever.

WA could have easily rang SAPOL up and said how you do this rego thing. Email the form over and go, der like this. Ok thanks neighbor. Job done, legislate it. Guess that was too hard.

I always thought a blanket ban is totally useless.

Like I was trying to get through in my previous comment. Ban the easier stuff while not actually going for the throat and chop the head off of the problem.

I’ll never get over how a single person, civilian, can purchase all of NIOA’s last remaining stock of AP70 powder and get it shipped to WA. Like wtf. Nothing makes sense to me, maybe a fair bit of corruption involved. Yet they cut sick on the basic easy things.

This is a serious contender under the heading “The Shit Pit.”

Just like clockwork……… here’s the latest absolutely BULLSHIT public gun fear campaign story to hit the headlines exactly at this VERY convenient moment :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Can anyone actually point out ANY FACTUAL EVIDENCE that this person is ACTUALLY armed with a Shotgun?

AND to add more fear and confusion into the public, let’s put a picture of a Spec Ops dude holding an Automatic Weapon and dressed in Military equipment right next to the mugshot of the suspect who they are searching for……… because that’s totally reasonable and relevant to the story?

No…… I didn’t think so……. but never let the truth get in the way of a good story shall we :rage:

So worker’s gave him a lift…… not a single mention that they would have done that if he was carrying a Shotgun!

Pretty hard to walk around in public with a Shotgun!

And yet meanwhile in the same News article…… Asian Women Stabs 14 year old boy with a knife, but that’s fine, just don’t be distracted about the “apparent” imaginary yet to be seen/confirmed Shotgun that we should all be shitting bricks about!

Like my earlier post on the WA restriction, they had a fucking photo of AR15’s in a line. Errr like fuckheads we can’t get them here since the Howard ban and have nothing to do with the number restriction they have brought in. Like what the fuck.

Here’s another example of the type of guns that the media and government are using to justify their actions.

Once again……. Images of military grade weapons that aren’t even available in this country

Looks much more threatening than little Johnny’s old .177 K-Mart Air Rifle I suppose!

Can i have the uzi…??!
It looks like its just lying around, doing nothing…

They’ve got 4…i only want 1…i’m not greedy…

Might be able to score a 3 prong flash hider, as well…!!

It gives me the shits how coerced msm is by states leadership agenda to influence the gen pop that wouldn’t know a bag of popcorn from something military grade. Gen pop then assume that is what they are restricting and vote for it.

I remember going to the local g shop in the 80’s with Dad for our weekly peruse and drool session, looking at racks of UZI’s, AR15’s, Garands, Thompsons, Rugers. All semi auto and if you had the coin as they were expensive, fully legal. They were not really ideal for our interest of hunting feral goats at the time but still fun to fondle in the shop. Plus Dad wouldn’t let me get an UZI, no good for hunting son. Oh come on… LOL

I remember walking into the sporting goods section of a city Myer store back in the 70’s and drooling over a .22 M16 semi-auto rifle. I told myself I was going to get me one of those when I was old enough to get my firearm licence.

KMart had locked racks of shotties and hunting rifles just behind the counter in the fishing section. It all seemed so accessible back then to a 13 year old kid…

My older mates regularly took their shotties into NSW for annual pig hunting trips, air and .22 rifles were part of your camping kit. Nobody got shot, no livestock were harmed, quite a few feral pigs and cats met their maker and everyone had a great time while learning about firearm safety and rifle maintenance responsibly in a family environment.

Times have changed…

Ha the good ole Kmart sports section we used to visit. On our thursday night shopping tour of gun shops. Kmart usually had some good deals on ammo and a fair range of rifles to look at :+1:
Next to the tennis rackets, fishing rods and Cricket bats

Jenny’s guns and ammo at Beaudesert are still like the old fashion shops.
Clothing in the front fishing, archery and guns in the back.
No security just and old style mom and pop shop.
It’s my go to for ammo
Last year I drove down to Jenolan caves just out of Oberon.
Took a back road from mudgee to Bathurst most of it was dirt.
Came through this beautiful valley and here was a wooden garage come shop in the middle of nowhere.
It only had two Bowser’s
But inside it sold guns and ammo, bows and black powder.
No cold drink machine just a water jug on the counter.
And the best tasting locally grown vegs.
It’s like I got transported back in time to the 1920.
The fuel pumps did not work but looked in amazing condition with standard and super on each.
The guy behind the counter looked like he had been there since 1920.
Chatted to him for a good half an hour.
In that time no one else came by
It was creepy and exciting at the same time.
For the love of me I can not find the place on the maps now would love to go back.

I just went through my collection of old blasters that had been boxed and packed away…

Pulled out a JM SCAR V2… you know, the one with the ABS shell, crappy optic, Gen 8 gearbox. My first thought was “How light is this piece of junk??”

Then I picked up my full metal M4 with 10" Noveske, metal box and gears, metal iron sights and flash hider, proper optic… weighty nugget to say the least.

Maybe I’m just getting old, but guess which one I’d pick if I was planning a full day running around on an outdoor playing field? :joy:

Your arms would be sore as lugging the M4 around.
You would have just as much fun with the old scar.
A well sorted Gen 8 is the Labrador of the gel blaster range

Absolutely… agree 100%. :+1: Realistic weight’s fine for those that want it… I get it. But shouldering something for five minutes in your mancave ain’t the same as charging around Donnybrook all day.

And considering arms developers are always striving for lighter weapons to make the load on the average fighting soldier easier to bear, adding weight to a sport intended to be fun seems a little counter intuitive to me. :man_shrugging:

Had the same with the custom M4 full metal build I was putting together.
The goal was to make it the heaviest blaster I could possibly put together, but was just for shits’n’giggles as something different from the normal ones in the rest of the collection.

I can’t remember the exact final weight of it, but with the biggest battery, full magazine and all the extra metal/alloy accessories, it turned out around 200g heavier than a real one! :flushed::joy:

Was definitely not a game blaster, even just plinking around the property it got tiring very quickly!

The best compact and lightweight favourite was the Camo UMP45, especially with its well built Gen8 powered gearbox, brick battery in the fake PEQ Box and able to carry plenty of the little stick magazines…… it ticked all of the boxes as a great game day field blaster :ok_hand:

The JM J12 AK was second most favourite and got a lot of use when not playing full outdoor field days.

Ah, the J12 Ak… it’s one on my list.

Did you have any problems with the mag terminal springs with yours? I remember a lot of people complaining that with the AK mag load style ( rear catch and rock in ) the springs would catch and get bent out of shape.

Yes, they were very small and flimsy, which had them bending out of contact with the mag terminals quite easily.

I did buy a bag full of aftermarket spring terminals to change them out, but got lazy and just kept up with continually straightening out the stock ones :joy:

Ahh the gen8 UMP and J12, two of my favourite work horses. Both of my have been absolutely flogged, abused, and have that delightful factor of, affordable replacability that lends to extra fun as you dont worry about breaking it. Even if the absolute worst happens, can replace the thing for stuff all. There is something special about that in this hobby!

Newer j12 aks dont run springs, however have more of a bent tab of metal instead. Makes them far more easy to use without the risk of bending mag terminal springs.

Great reply that definitely reinforces my love of early simplistic no frills Gen8 powered classics :+1:

The factory must have realised their design fault using spring terminals, and good on them for changing their designs to the tab type contacts instead :white_check_mark:

Over engineering, adding advanced electronics and finicky little features on modern blasters are absolutely awesome for their abilities to fully extract the best performance features possible……… but every single additional technical/electronic detail that is added is definitely just something else that can fail/go wrong :frowning:

Old simple mechanical blasters are bulletproof and can be easily/cheaply modified to be just as powerful as any modern blasters, but with the exception that there’s very little else to go wrong/fail.

My first experience with “Modern Electronics” Blasters was with the SKD M4SS & SKD HK416 in 2017/2018 as being the very first Gelblasters released with MOSFET FCU’s and the myriad of little components that were fitted to operate them.

Basically a Gen8 Gearbox, but with a heap of little switches and electronics that made them very fragile and frustrating to keep working reliably

I love the old dinosaurs which are devoid of such “features”, and can honestly say that they have always been the most rugged, simple, reliable and best performing blasters that could ever have enjoyed :ok_hand:
