The Shit Pit

I think the unhydrated gels would not go far at all without the weight of the water in them.

Would need something like a shotgun wad to get an amount of them on the move so the air wouldn’t escape around the gels as a bunch wouldn’t seal the barrel tight.

But who knows until it’s tried.

Cheers, yes using a wad of some description was definitely in the plans, which is why the Shells would be easiest to fit with a wad compared with a hopper feed :+1:

Could even use a random bag of small plastic balls from China instead of dry gels was also a thought……. but it all comes down to testing and experimenting with this sort of stuff :sunglasses:

I use those plastic balls in my tanks
Tried them in a blaster they don’t work.

What BikerSmurf said… :fu: :+1:

I tried them too on a manual bolt action M24… absolutely shiteful airseal with them. Definitely need the flexibility of the gels for that.

How they’d go in a shottie shell with a wad though… who knows?

Yeah that’s the idea for sure :+1:
Definitely know that a hard plastic ball has zero air sealing in a barrel, but as a teaspoon full of shot in front of a 250+ FPS wad, physics would suggest that they would actually be a bit more aerodynamic than a gel ball, and depending upon their weight, should technically replicate a gel ball in flight at that FPS

Like I said, has just been a stupid idea in my head that has kept me awake at night for a while, and sux that I don’t have the legal means to carry on with my theory of building a “proper” Gelblaster Shotgun.

Not a stupid idea at all, Doc. :+1:

It’s an interesting one…

Cheers mate :sunglasses:
Stupid brain comes up with stupid ideas when I was working on Gelblasters!

Honest truth that I had already thought about the latest design idea for the “reversed piston” sliding bolt AEG design that is now been released by LDT/WAT a couple of years ago, again late at night and thinking outside of the box…… as I have to do daily in my industry :joy:

The proper Shotgun Pellet idea came from the release of the first M203 Gel Grenade Launcher, and being underwhelmed by the design.

Then to see the first “Shotguns” in the Gelblaster industry was the same type of disappointment……. no new advanced technology or functionality, just shoots regular gels through more barrels or 2-4 gels at once.

Always have the brain ticking over thinking about better ideas, but it takes a long time to actually gather everything and try building something to put it into practice.

I still think about building stuff, but no longer have the Legal ability to physically put anything together. :frowning:

Call this a hot take all you want but I think the only advancement gel blaster shotguns can make is by just just copying the time tested shell magazine design ass soft has. Probably the only way to make shotguns actually practical

Got side tracked… this fella knew how to go out!! MSN

Seen that earlier today……. certainly one hell of a doorbell!

On a serious note though, it definitely demonstrates how flimsy American light timber/plasterboard and tarred roof houses are :flushed:

I guess that’s one way of looking at it

I think whatever it was would have blown up anything. The aftereffects of detonations were quite interesting what they would demolish when I was ROH days. We even had a qualified expolsives fella working for us full time to blast the slag build up in the feed chutes to the presses in the alloy wheel foundry. It was so hard we couldn’t jack hammer it out. He’d lay a line and give it just enough to blow the slag out but not the whole chute apart.

Another one a dickhead on night shift didn’t pre heat the 1.5T a alloy ingot that fed the furnaces that had to be done for 4 hours to make sure any moisture was not present. Yea he loaded it in and insta boom blew half the side off the furnace and some of the roof of the factory. Took months to rebrick that one of 3. They were 3 of the biggest in the southern hemisphere at the time. All scrap now and gone.

Holy shit😳
I worked in Aluminium mining and Smelting, to drop a chunk of cold Ali into a furnace is insane!

I reckon the frootloop in that house used LPG for that big explosion.

Has all the telltale signs and footage that I can almost guarantee it was LPG.

As for cracking/cleaning the pour shoots and tanks…… DETCORD Is a wonderful product! :joy:

Simple to control the amount of energy and has a “shock” type blast rather than an RPG style destructive explosion :sunglasses:

Yea I think he used something like that. He was a bit secretive of exactly what he used as he was on a good wicket. As fitter grunts we were not allowed anywhere near it. Or his Van loaded with explosives. Certainly made our life better than fucking jackhammering all day

I think so too be bottles of gas, pre staged or it would of maybe took the block out if from the mainlines. I dunno, sure looked like a good one regardless. F me

Yeah LPG is awesome for mixing with oxygen and causing a massive boom, but it leaves very little after fires/fuel once the initial explosion has happened.

Fuel/Explosives/incendiary type charges make a long lasting effect, whereas Gas simply goes boom without any additional after effects.

I’m actually starting to get concerned about my comments here and many other places online, along with my Google search history with the stuff that I have been searching about for links and information for many dodgy illegal subjects for my overseas Gelblaster followers and some of the topics that we discuss here! :joy:

I have never googled explosives, but with my search history and comments here……. I wouldn’t be surprised if the TRG raids my Workshop in the next few months! :flushed:

Yea I know what you mean… why I don’t say too much.

Just back to the plastic ball/beads idea
The biggest downfall would be
That you have to pick up hundreds of little plastic balls all over the place as there are not biodegradable.
I have 4large RC tanks that use these plastic ball,/beads.
After a full day of playing with the grandkids. It takes me days after to find all of them scattered around in the house and yard.
And I have to use different colour ones.
Black ones in the house (the whole house is white tiles) I vac them up
And fluoro outside easier to find in the grass.
The ones I don’t find the lawn mower finds and shoots them of into the windows.:weary::weary:
