I’ve got LCT short steel mags for my M16 gen8(clearenced for gen9 dimension) magwell. Can’t find anywhere stocking them atm though.
Gen 9 mags are slightly larger in dimension and don’t fit gen 8 out the box. Unless they say so and are dimensioned to fit both. Which can make it confusing as some don’t explain it in the product description. The retention notch is different too.
All that bit’s for that’s sticking out is to make sure the t-piece aligns correctly with the feed tube on the mag, isn’t necessarily required but does help.
SLR mags are a fraction wider and squarer at the front than gen8 mags.
I file out every m4 mag well to make them work with SLR mags. It’s one of those things I believe is worth doing that way I only have to take a set of SLR mags for all my M4s.
Actually that is on my to do list this week with my CYMA SCAR-L, upgrade and make it take SLR mags. I love the tedium of filing and checking until something fits.
Especially after only doing it to a metal wells receiver last week… sucker for punishment!
Improving, no guts no glory in this hobby!
Once you have successfully cut up something expensive once and it works you become immune to the cost being a factor and just look for results.
Almost every blaster of my own has an experiment in it, be it a part, combination of parts, or a limit being tested!
If someone doesn’t try nobody knows right?
And since I make a portion of a living out of upgrading and repairing, I need to know so the experiment is not on a customer’s blaster!
My personal motto in life:
“Try harder, be less shit!”
In the shopping cart… not allowed to press checkout
See the family needs to buckle their belts. Everyone in the family.
Except the kids because they need extra lessons for the extra circular stuff.
Except the wife because she needs more pilates classes. Don’t forget the $90 manicures every 3 weeks too.
See everyone means everyone
Can’t upgrade to the gigabit plan for $20/month more. Can’t get chips because its $8 per pack. But don’t you dare say anything when she throws out $50 worth of spoilt food every fortnight because she doesn’t plan properly.
Everything is fine.
This is quite therapeutic.
Everything is fine.
Tell the kids, getting a job is character building, and teaches them the value of money.
They can get more stuff, that they want.
Removes some spare extra cirricular time, too.
Crikey with the rest you explained I’d be demanding something starting with a 6 or 7 in front ending with multiple zeros.
It’s funny my mates wifes are shocked how I can “only” go shopping once a fortnight. Pretty simple, plan ahead as I don’t want to be doing a 100klm round trip every other day for a liter of milk. That gets their jaw dropping, oh I couldn’t do it, must have shops nearby. Well if you have everything for a couple weeks then there is no need. The parking is great too, 10ft from the front door
Us country folk are a LOT different from the suburban civilians.
We were always brought up with the monthly shopping trips to the big smoke to stock up on supplies.
We actually had very little to shop for, because we had all of our meat, fruits and vegetables supplied off the land, so only had to shop for things like flour, salt, sugar and whatever else that we couldn’t make ourselves.
We made our own bread, had milking cows/goats, pig and chook pens, made our own butter/cheese, brewed our own Alcohol, made our own honey, soaps and lotions… never really had the need for anything from the shops at all!
I can’t possibly list everything that we were able to sustain ourselves with off the land, but it was certainly a big percentage compared with what people rely upon from commercial retailers these days.
