Bit of a vector rebuild. The original motor I used was a chihai iron will 30k… and it did not love pulling an m110 with 13:1.
Only seen a heap of testing and two days at Donnybrook, and the armature and brushless clearly didn’t love it! It never quite got the rps I expected, but at the time it was the only motor I could get on short notice to build the thing.
The carbon was everywhere and thick, fun to clean that out!
Brushless time! T238 25k budget version, chosen as it was the only short one they have and is compatible with the mosfets active brake which can not be turned off.
Had to shave a bit of material to fit the brushless motor, and cut some channels for the motor terminals which stick out a bit more on the brushless motor. Nothing like the feeling of hacking up an expensive thing!
On to cleaning out the filings, total clean of everything, check bevel to pinion shimming, and rebuild.
Yeah it’s taken me since Friday to grit my teeth and do it!
Good news though!
Gearbox is together and have it a bench test and it runs very nice! And the gear train is expectedly very quite now with a brushless motor. And didn’t have to shorten the shaft like the last motor so there was a plus in that!
Sounds to be about 25rps with m110 and 13:1. Perfect given it is something I don’t want to service often! Vectors are the hardest thing to work on but they certainly are up there with the longest!
Will get it in the blaster tomorrow and send it on an m110… maybe even try some bigger springs while I’m at it for giggles. It is short four teeth on the sector so won’t be as wild as you think. The beauty is the easy and quick spring change to suit the field.
Cheers mate
Yeah bracing myself for the endless circle of paperwork and conflicting information combined with the total impossibility of being able to contact any Government Department and speak to an actual human being whatsoever
Doctor told me to join up with a local advocacy group to help me through the process… so we’ll wait and see.
First interview with Centrelink yesterday and still in the dark about the whole process
I second using the local advocacy group. The were able to get my brother’s approved after he had initially been knocked back because he filled in something incorrectly.
I had an application in for DSP back before COVID restrictions, I was on the DES program at the time, so Newstart . Been going through the hoops for about a year with it and getting more and more frustrated. Centrelink told me it was going to be bounced due to insufficient medical documentation, apparently the 3" thick folder of specialist’s letters, scan and test results wasn’t enough.
Two days later when the gummint announced they were bringing in double Newstart payments because of the COVID leurgi I got a letter stating I’d been put on a DSP.
Anything to save a buck, hey? That advocacy group suggestion’s a good idea, Doc. Highly recommend that.
Cheers guys
I was also already on a Medical Exemption certification after I came out of hospital for a while, then like many others during COVID was thrown onto Newstart despite being incapacitated for work
From this was moved over to the DES because of the ongoing medical issues and doctors/specialists certificates, but they are still expecting us to jump through unattainable hoops despite the fact that nobody is ever going to try and employ a cripple with all of the OHS and Insurance liabilities that come with it
I’m definitely aware that it isn’t going to be easy and take a whole lot of stress to get through the whole system… but don’t have any options other to keep pushing forward and fighting the fight
I’m about to start the whole centrelink paper chase exercise, with Mum.
Due to her properties/ term deposit / bank account being owned as Joint Tennants with myself, she is eligible for a part pension.
(that was done for Mum to disown her narc daughter…i have to pay tax on 50% of mums income, even though it all goes to her)
The pension is not a huge amount, about $6k per year, but she’ll be eligible for pensioner discounts etc.
And, as we all want her to stay out of a nursing home, the 6k/year can go toward paying for home care as she needs it.
I shudder at starting the process, ive never been on centrelink, but they will want to know EVERYTHING financially, that has happened over the past 5 years.
This will include rennovations at her old place, selling it , buying at north lakes, buying an investment property at north lakes, setting up new accounts and closing old ones, selling shares, and some money she gave to me during covid…
Phew.
Lots of reasons there, for them to stuff around, and say " we dont like this"
Gifting , in particular is a big one…but that came from a joint account, so…??
Its gonna be painful…
For $6k a year, you wonder if its even worth it…
