What Did You Get Up To Today?

How about we just come to your place and use yours

Great to spend this afternoon catching up with a really good mate and having a few beers whilst drooling over the machinery in his new shed :sunglasses:

These are only a few pics of not even half of the bike collection that he owns, but is a good insight as to what he collects and restores.

The little HONDA rock hopper was a great flashback to my teenage years, in awesome original full Patina 1970ā€™s condition, right down to the cracked old original tyres :sunglasses:

Despite my fkd back and only having one leg working, I was able to jump on it to do a few laps of the back yard after my mate had done a few circuits to warm it up for me :raised_hands:

The '82 Moto Guzzi is a Genuine high performance Agostini modified 1000cc LeMans, custom made from the original 850cc road bikesā€¦a very rare and desirable model indeed!

1000cc barrels/pistons, modified cams, finned air tube alloy sump, 40mm racing carbies, 40mm cyclone race pipes, progressive brake valving to the single rear and twin rotor fronts, set back pedals, full fairings etc etc.

Just idling this thing was shaking the concrete floor standing a few metres back from it, and then my mate held the throttle at 3000rpm and it was a deep fat rumble that was a symphony to the ears :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Confirms my opinion the Harleyā€™s sound like a piece of shit compared to this beautiful old thumper!

Heā€™s got a massive collection of not only classic 70ā€™s and 80ā€™s road rockets, but also many cool old trail bikes as well :+1:

I should have taken more pics of everything, but basically the shed is 12 metres long and the bikes are lined up side by side from the Guzzi at one end all the way along the back wall to the bikes on the building stands at the other end! :astonished:

Things might look like wrecks, but they all run and are 100% complete bikes, only stripped down because heā€™s restoring them piece by piece :ok_hand:

Thatā€™s killer. Love the Harley comment and exactly my thoughts. I can popa fart better than a Harley

Try riding a Duke 1188 race edition, no legs required.

I spy with my lil eye a Yamaha maybe DT200Lc. Or itā€™s a TT.

yeah I know. but not everyone has the cash to buy stuff like this outright, hence why services like chrisco were created.

I know they jack the price right up on their items, but I was considering making a chrisco order for a mini quad bike for my daughter this year as itā€™s only $30 a week

The I Spy is a TT Yammy :+1:

Another old mate has 2 X old 80ā€™s Dukes in pieces in his shed, and this mate here has been harassing him for about 5 years now to try and get them off him without any success so far!

The other mate is in his early 80ā€™s and him and his wife toured Australia and New Zealand a few times on those bikes, so they have a fair bit of sentimental value even though theyā€™ve been parked in his shed for decades not running.

Iā€™m looking at the white and red Yammie FJ1100 sitting there looking like it needs to be out on the road making someone shit their pants in the middle of a massive tank slapper brought about by a heavy throttle hand exiting a corner with that incredibly sketchy fat 16" front wheel.:rofl::rofl:

They went hard though. :+1:

Yeah itā€™s quite strange looking at these designs in this modern era where Bikes are much more streamlined and lightweight.

Hereā€™s a good example sitting right in front of meā€¦

:ok_hand::sunglasses::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::rofl:

Mate you havenā€™t tried a Duke 1188 race edition. Feels like you are sitting on a V8 injected, whoops sorry kids at the school crossing but Iā€™m only in first gear doing dollar 20.

I dunno wrist slipped or something. Brakes were fantastic. No pant shitting for me but then Iā€™m a hoon

Ah I wasnā€™t far off, good solid reliable bikes. Bit heavy but go for nearly ever.

Thereā€™s a DT LC in the line-up as well, I just didnā€™t get any pics of it.
TT is a heavy chunk alright, I certainly canā€™t ride it anymore, but old mate is still known by everyone around town that he spends most of his time on the back wheel on that thing

Watched this 2025 Toyota Prado Altitude Review | We broke the Toyota LandCruiser Prado 250 Seriesā€¦

Found out the new Prado is a pile of :poop: Canā€™t anyone make a decent product anymore.

Yea thats one of my great hates with new cars, everything has gone to shit in them and has sensors and computers that will get pissed if you do one thing wrong and shut down, just what you need in australia. Also what the fuck?

WHY DOES A CAR NEED FUCKING HDMI, never have i seen a more stupid idea for distractions and yet they complain phones and smartwatches are the issue (south australia wants to fine you for smart watches now when driving) yet lets watch bluey going 110 down the highway.

Anyways for what ive been getting upto: making my wallet cry by looking at camera gear and all the extra stuff i need for it aswell as gel blasters.

Haha oh man technology it all slap dash these days across the board.
The HDMI port is so they can fine you for connecting to the Ai operated camera that is rolling in. I went past one few weeks ago and gave it the finger. I didnā€™t get fined for that

My biggest pet peeve with cars these days has been happening for a while but it just gets worse every year isā€¦
They all look like shit. Characterless garbage, and most cars are mid size SUV and dual cabs. :face_vomiting:

I used to love carsā€¦ now they are just a mode of transport. None in the last decade mean anything, probably to anyone and will be wrecked once they are finished. Nobody will be restoring a RAV4 or a Ranger in 30 years time and that is the problem I feel. Nobody is making something anyone is going to care to remember.

Same here. Itā€™s like just throw it in the bin and get new. But still whinge about landfill.

Quality control has gone to the dog house. Want an EV car that wieghs 4tons then complain about the battery and the tyres scrubbing out in no time. Throw it in the bin, oh we recycle them. Ah got news for you we have no facility to do that. Yet.

What happened to the good naughties where you got a Toyota, Holden or Ford and off you go reliable as. Thatā€™s right GM filed for bankruptcy and took GMHA out in the process and Ford gave up.

All this fancy stuff is all well and good. But when it fails you canā€™t just chuck a new belt on  :person_shrugging:

I did a stint in QC back in my wheel making days. Strict ISO standards for safety had to be adhered to. They were. Now it seems like make it very cheap and who cares. :person_shrugging: But charge more.

A HQ Holden 14"x8" was $14ea out the door from the factory. And that was in the early 2000ā€™s. Anyway thatā€™s all been scrapped now so you get what you get from os.

I remember thinking the same thing when the VB/VC/VN/VR Commonwhores and XD/XE/XF Fowlcoons came outā€¦
Ugly POSā€™s that nobody would ever consider a classic car, let alone have young mad blokes frothing over them 40 years later! :astonished:

Did you say you wanted to buy a Bommodore. Got 3 sitting here mint condition brah  Red one might be minus a door or two due to hoons. Donā€™t know who that was

Try getting replacement trim parts for a 10 year old FG Falcon. Washer jets arenā€™t even serviced by the dealer. I have easier time getting parts for my 68 Mercury Cougar.

Itā€™s easier to get bits for an XD/XF Falcon than an FG

Yeah, i agreeā€¦most modern cars are soulless, plastic throwaway items.

Designed to last 8-10 years, then turn em into coke cans.

The older classic cars, were built to last and had style and character.

Vintage Jags / porsches / corvettes / Jap supercars still turn heads, when they are out and aboutā€¦

In 30 years time, noone is going to care about owning a ā€˜vintageā€™ tesla 3ā€¦

Actually just watched a bit of Summernats. Fella did his burnout in the correct place at the correct time, got permission to drive back to camp on rims of course itā€™s camming at 4k stall then another security guard pulled him up, stripped his permit and ejected. Fkn Nora He didnā€™t do anything wrong besides what he was told. Go there have a hoon session and fry tyres. Weird.

Oh thats why, the security guard was Irish. We donā€™t do ot like thot in Ireland
