What Did You Get Up To Today?

Got to get to Fremantle today and check in with my daughter after her big medical emergency on New year’s Eve.

Unfortunately was released from hospital with absolutely FCKALL outpatient care or anything to treat her extremely serious medical issues… just needed to clear beds out for the New Year influx of emergency patients :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

She’s developed more debilitating symptoms since, but has been able to book Doctors/Specialists off her own back and is going to see a Neurologist tomorrow for brain scans/MRI/CT imaging etc.

She’s pissed that most of the big Australian bands are very quiet at the moment, and only having less well known local bands in the studio for the next couple of weeks, but was excited to tell me today that she has JEBEDIAH coming in at the end of the month, so that makes up for the downtime :joy:

She was hanging around with the Saints only a few weeks ago, which was insane, because they been around since the 1970’s and I used to follow them when I was her age back in the late 80’s/early 90’s… never thinking that I would have a daughter one day working with them in the year 2024! :astonished:

Far out that’s a bit fooked.

I did see something about Jebediah playing somewhere soon, something to look forward to :+1:

Next chapter of “what I got up to today”, was to do with my new focus of getting back into the RC Vehicle hobby, seeing as I can’t play with Gelbasters anymore and still need something to keep my hands and brain busy building and modifying stuff.

I mentioned somewhere else a little while back that I found a Chinese Supplier who was selling RC Vehicles for stupid cheap prices.

As I did with Gelbasters, I basically emptied my bank account to grab as much as possible whilst the opportunity was there.

As @RokSolid , @Friendly_Fire and many others have commented, get stuff while you can, as there’s NO guarantees that you will be able to get that stuff again.

So…after finding this supplier on eBay, then scratching my head over the prices of these products, I took the risk and ordered like 13 RC Rock Crawler/Replica 4WD’s for an absolute STEAL!

Of course have to be wary of dodgy online sellers, but this was eBay, not Alibaba,TEMU or Amazon etc … so felt safe in the knowledge that I simply couldn’t lose out with my purchases with the eBay fully guaranteed refund policy :ok_hand:

I ordered these way back last pay, lived off 2 minute noodles since, and was waiting to get paid again Monday just gone as had another 6 RC Vehicle’s in my shopping cart to purchase this week… but low and behold, the seller has pulled ALL the rest of the RC Vehicles that I wanted to add to this collection from the eBay site :worried:

The seller in China obviously realised that they were selling these products at retail prices, unaware of the market prices for the same products.

I’m sad that I couldn’t purchase the rest of the vehicle’s in my shopping cart, especially because one them was for my mentally disabled Son, but at least I did manage to get over a dozen really cool RC Vehicle’s for a rediculous price that have already shipped and have tracking numbers for :ok_hand:

Here’s an example of only a couple of models that shows what I paid compared with the normal market prices :astonished:

Current market prices:

What Bob was paying for each one… which I ordered 4 of at this price :joy:

Next what Bob paid for…

Current market prices…

Just keeps going and going

What Bob paid…

Pretty sure you all get the idea,
Research these yourselves… as these are just an example of the more than a dozen that I ordered before the Chinese seller realised that they had fkd up! :joy:

You’ve crashed the market! Nice one should be fun.

Not the first time I’ve crashed the market mate… just ask MonkeyMods :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I thought Gelblasters were addictive, but I should have remembered from my years in the 1980’s of how addictive RC Model vehicles can be as well! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The MN 82 Light kit is for my mentally disabled son…he fkn LOVES lights, and that MN 82 Cruiser was his Xmas present that I got for him.

He’s so overjoyed with it, my ex missus that I barely even speak to reached out to tell me that he’s never stopped playing with it ever since I gave it to him on Xmas day! :astonished::ok_hand:
To be able to get the full light kit and spend a day with him adding indicator/stop/tail and reverse lights into his Cruiser… that’s priceless from the enjoyment that he’ll get out of it :gift_heart:

That would explain why they are booked into the Studio.

Same with any other bands like Eskimo Joe, John Butler, the Waifs or whoever… they only come into her studio to rehearse for upcoming gigs rather than to record new albums :joy:

Couple of pics from catching up with her today having a beer on the second story verandah of an 1800’s Hotel in Fremantle :sunglasses:

She got pissed about young kids these days wearing Nirvana T-shirts as a fashion statement, never actually heard any of their music or knowing anything about the band itself

The music studio she works at is called “Pen Cap Chew”, which is what Kurt Cobain wanted to call their very first Album, but it got changed by their Record Company to “Nevermind” instead.

I can’t quite see what Grace has written on her shirt, nor remember when she showed me, but it’s basically dissing the new generation who are just wearing NIRVANA merch for nothing more than the “cool factor”.

Obviously takes after her old man in the world of taking the piss out of try hard wannabes :joy:

I once sold a Che Guevara t-shirt to a young guy at a music festival back in the early naughties… he paid for it, then proudly told me he’d been looking for a decent Bob Marley t-shirt for ages.

Needless to say, he got a brief lesson on revolutionary politics from me for that comment.

Always cracks me up when I see generationally incorrect fashion choices made by people who haven’t got a clue what they’re doing.

Waiting for power to be restored to my home. Bloody storms.

BWAHAHAHA… gonna tell her that story next time we catch up! :joy:

First time playing this new guitar she had just purchased.

Bit of a theme in music taste happening

She actually plays about 20 different musical instruments including piano/keyboard, string, wind and percussion, but guitar is her favourite :sunglasses:

Also has a very broad Musical taste, from old 50’s rock/jazz through to early Aussie Punk, Heavy Metal etc. but obviously a pretty big Nirvana fan.

With an offset body Fender like that, hearing Nirvana’s no big suprise, Bob.

Jagstang?

Good taste in music… although I’m a big fan of hair rock so technically it was Seattle grunge that did that genre in so I shouldn’t like it.

Dropped in at x-Force for an inner barrel (another experiment). Had a play with a bunch of the KeLe springers. Probably the best made replicas of anything in the gel business. Finish is great and the weight is pretty accurate as well. Just wish they were gas powered

They do look the goods.

Cheap way for manufacturers to release cheaper, quality versions.

I wish they would do more “exotic models”, ie VP-70, Browning Hi Power, Luger etc…

Oh shit that was either a conga line of Starlink Satellites, or Aliens are invading or NSW has spiked my beer.

That was pretty cool. See heaps of cool stuff in the skys out here away from city lights. :+1:

Reacquainted myself with my once favourite band … Gojira. French metalheads with an environmental twist. :metal::metal:

Even if you don’t dig metal, the machine gun palm muted chugging at 3:22 is worth a listen for it’s precision and cohesion with the drummer. Played live they’re just as good, although there’s one errant chord in there.

Single long string of about 50 or so and pretty bright? thats a starlink string release.

That one errant chord is only a split second, but certainly stands out! :joy:

Yes sure was. Cool I should get a boost in my net.
