What Did You Get Up To Today?

Anyone wanna get them for me? :joy:

I’m waiting for my FedEx package to arrive the Wankers. Hehe

BME’s not the only one into big-arse movie based pistols :rofl:

ā€œLĆ©on : The Professionalā€ Beretta 92FS

Awesome movie, seen it when it was first released and eventually was able to track down the DVD for the collection :raised_hands:
One of Gary Oldmans best performances in my opinion.

His character was just pure EVIL! :astonished:

ā€œNo RE blasters were harmed, in the making of this photoā€
…
I hope…?!

Looks good…!!

Yeah, it sort of was. Well, the polished barrel, at any rate.

Down the track I’ll get another Taurus and knock out a polished barrel RE Beretta. :+1:

It is a great movie, a bit of controversy about it though. It got flamed because of the perceived underlying theme of paedophelia with Natalie Portman’s character Matilda.

The witer and director Luc Besson had a bit of a dodgy history too. He was thirty three when he started a relationship with his fifteen year old girlfriend, married her and knocked her up at sixteen, alleged sexual assault charges, etc.

But if you can ignore all that, it’s a brilliant flick… and you’re bang on when you say Oldman’s character is pure evil. Jean Reno’s acting is brilliant in it too. :+1:

I was being sorta serious haha. I would pay for it myself but scared that customs will come down on me haha.

Definitely one of my fav movies… all though there is many it is one of those I’ve watched more than 5 times over the years.

Curious what’s up with the Ali G moniker on the muzzle extension? Manufacturer? Where you get it from?

Ali G… you’d best be leavin’ my compensator alone… aayigh’?

It’s a Chinese knock off of a real steel Algimec comp. Bought it through iHobby at Oz Gel & Tactical, made by Double Bell (they call it the ā€œHitman compensatorā€, I guess after the LĆ©on movie). It’s compatible with Double Bell Taurus PT92 pistols, they say NWell Beretta too, but I wouldn’t trust that. Same compensator we modified for one of BME’s Resident Evil builds. :+1:

@BME notice they’re now putting in the description that the guide rod hole needs to be drilled out or the guide rod sanded down to make it fit?

Is there an echo in here?

Yeah mate, there was definitely a fair bit of controversy when the movie was released, but going on the reputation of the film maker, it definitely had its moments that definitely were borderline heading down that uncomfortable path. :rage:

I have seen quite a few interviews with the cast on the DVD B Side, and luckily Portman had to have her Mother involved in the movie the whole time due to her age, which I believe was the only thing that stopped Besson from diving deeper and into his own sick fantasies.

Aside from that, it was a great movie with some amazing characters and actors that definitely hit hard when it was first released and is still a great piece of film that has stood the test of time. :+1:

Didn’t think he would do a polanski.

Did some experimenting today

Tested how different grow times effect 3 different gel types. Super pinks, armour tech yellows, and Raiden arms super heavies.

Bottles on the left were grown for 3 hours and then drained. Whereas the bottles on the right were grown for 3.5 hours and then drained. I then left them to sit for about another 2 hours before measuring. Turns out that extra 30 minutes didn’t really do much of anything for the size of the gels.

Measured with calipers slowly opening in the ramp until they fell through. Averages as seen below:

Pink supers 7.1-7.2
Yellow armour techs 7.4-7.5
Raiden arms super heavies 7.2-7.3

Still yet to do a proper accuracy test but I’ve shot a few rounds and this is the first time I’ve used ultras. Holy shit are they so much better!!!

The yellow one’s would be my pick for a 7.5mm barrel for sure :ok_hand:

How was the consistency in sizes between each batch?

Running different gels through the old ZHENDUO sieves used to give widely varying sizes between different batches, when compared with other brands that gave a higher percentage of even growth within the same batch … if that makes sense

Trouble is my barrel on the SLR is a 7.2. that means the raiden arms run great tho.

Consistency was pretty good. Mainly a .1 variance with a couple outliers that were mainly bigger (a few small too tho).

Getting my weekly spend in at urban gelball though. Bought myself a aztech hoppup and a pack of ultra elites and elite v2. Will see later this weekend how they go. Going to run through all the gels I grew today and then grow another batch of all 5 different gels and do some measurements. Might start a new thread to record the experiments. Exciting

Went down the coast, for some gardening…

Did the 9 monthly, 'big tree trim back and garden maint", down the coast.

Have a really good gardener down there, she has a team of 3 and we all get into it.
I did the gerni-ing out the back, afterwards.

Garden is coming along nicely…

Also, it looks like she’ll buy mums car, for her daughter.!

Sorry @Maiphut , no entertaining gumtree tales of woe, it looks like…

Thats what happens, when reasonable buyer, meets reasonable seller, with a good product at a sensible price…

Why cant the rest of gumtree work that way.?.?

Looking into modding one of my VR headsets by swapping the stock lense with lenses from another headset.

Been raiding my Gelblaster boxes for RC parts…shims, bearings, wiring, DEANS battery connectors etc.

Sad going through all this old stuff, makes me miss the hobby even more than I thought.

But the way my back is now, I’m struggling to walk properly let alone go running around a Gelball/Paintball field! :disappointed:

thanks WA Labor…yah fucks! :joy:
