Upgrade scheduled for my NBN this morning, 8am-12pm apoointment so of course they rock up just before noon. Took them a good 4 hours to get everything in place and I have now joined the FTTP gigabit club.
Grabbed a new set of Cat 6e ethernet cables and a mid range wifi usb for the desktop. Wifi speed of around 260Mbps, pretty disappointing considering the router and the usb was only 1.5m away with nothing in-between. Phone’s getting 300, daughter’s laptop was getting 360 with 2 walls in-between.
Grabbed myself a new gigabit switch (only 2 ethernet ports on the new router) and another Cat 6e cable - 928Mbps downloads and 45 Mbps uploads.
New 10 gig patch downloaded and installed in 2 minutes.
Ah so what they were supposed to do years ago and why I chucked the NBN in the bin as the gov were not putting money in to it.
Could not even run my business, Satellites are decade old and past their expiry date with no upgrade path, slow as dog nuts. And to try refibre all of Australia, HAHA yea right.
Been on 450MBs for 2 years now, and it actually works, 30MS ping. Unlike NBN’s 1 second ping, open a page and make breakfast, have a morning shit, and feed the dog.
And may I ask you’d be paying around the $100/month mark for that crap that is a decade late?
Mate it’s the same shit with the light rail on the Gold Coast - freaking how many businesses went under when they first built it through Southport, Main Beach and Surfers. Now it made its way through Broabeach, Miami and Burleigh and then the Nimbys at Currumbin stopped it. It’s gonna be another decade before they recommit to build again to the airport but at twice the current cost
Not to mention the 3 multi million development impact studies that has to be done again. Absolute rort.
Also right about the cost - I’m paying 5 times more for double the speed I had whilst I was working overseas… 20 years ago.
" I didnt do it!!
Not my signature ( it is)"
How else would have this found its way, into epsteins scrapbook, from 20 yrs ago, released by his estate…??
Dude looks like he has had his head half crushed in a vice…
Got got a refund from AliExpress for some holster parts that were caught up in the great f****** that is the new Australia Post Warehouse at the airport.
Just been advised that the parts are going to be delivered on Monday And there’s no way that you can actually fefund the refund to AliExpress. So it looks like I’ve got some free parts
Hate to say it… but probably not. although I hope you have.
I bought a guitar bridge years ago through AliX… took ages and still no receipt. Organised a replacement to be express posted free of charge, then three weeks after it arrived the original turned up.
I thought “freebies!” but they knew from the tracking… got a message telling me I owed them for the replacement they sent express.
A bit of haggling later and I got it for half price.
Spare Gibbo bridges never go astray when you’re guitar teching.
All I can add to this “AliExpress” topic is that I have been using them for nearly a decade and CANNOT fault thru customer service no matter what happens with a purchase.
Have never lost a single cent on any items purchased that were never sent or delivered, along with having months worth of guaranteed refunds available if the customer is not happy with the performance of the product.
All the years spent online ordering parts for the Gelblaster Hobby, AliExpress has CONSTANTLY proven to be an excellent
resource to purchase products safe in the knowledge that I am fully protected aha fraudulent retailers.
