Yeah I picked up on the Blacktop straight away, but the Rousie wasn’t expected!

My first wife was a Rousie when I met her, and used to drive 400klm north every Friday night after work to be together for the weekend when we were first dating, which was fun times partying with the rest of the Shearing Crew over the weekend after Cut Off payday! :tada::rofl:

the thing arrived today

iHobby have tan CYMA metal M4 receivers… exxie though at $190

Maybe picking up a complete secondhand CYMA/Jund M4 on marketplace is the best option for you.

@Wombat I do have this… CYMA / Jund upper and lower… but missing all the parts, like fire select, takedown pins, faux bolt, bolt release and mag catch so I don’t know how much use it would be to you. :person_shrugging:

Yours if you want it, matey. No good to me.

Hi. Thanks for the offer. Going to dig around in the local parts bins for necessary bits as soon as my back allows. I’ll let you know how it goes

i found a problem with the optic mount when i tried to shoot with it today, the nut or screw is loosening from the vibrations of the blaster, any solutions?

Maybe use a shakeproof washer or a square section spring washer under the nut, possibly even Loctite on the thread… see how that goes.

I’d opt for the square section spring washer myself… big big fan of those. :+1:

Look at that thing… sexy as…

Oooh rah, mission accomplished.

Had the Boss in today to finish off. Fkn cheeky bugger when we finished he said, hey what’s those up on the hill there you missed.

What legends, they are the best you’ll ever find for sheep shearing, I should know working for them for 14 years :+1:

I have a stack of batteries charged and was wanting to head out to the Weir before the weather turns to shit again, but then get a text that “your package will be arriving in the next hour”.

But that was 2 hours ago and now I’m stuck hanging around waiting for a delivery instead of out enjoying my Hobbies. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I’m pretty certain it’s gonna be the 1100mm F4U Corsair, so I might leave that in the box to assemble on the next few rainy days and just head straight up to the Weir before the day ends… hopefully. :crossed_fingers:

I’ll consider those options, one solution I found was filing down the area around the carry handle mount hole, the mount doesn’t loosen as much as before during shooting but I’ll need to get some Loctite like you suggested to improve it

A little strip of thin rubber, like bicycle tube, between the mount and the carry handle would do wonders to reduce shock too… :person_shrugging:

how about some teflon tape?

Stop teasing me, I haven’t even opened mine up yet!

I blew a rubber a fews times…ah fkpull out stat

You little ripper! I’m calling it as it’s time for a beer after taking wool in, selling some and sending the rest off to auction.

Plus it’s fkall Friday.

Must stay away from AKgelblaster website. Lower the credit card and back away from the keyboard slowly :joy:

@DocBob I think we need to go back to the drawing board. What do you call this

I did more in the toilet this morning…

  :australia:

Happy Fathers Day for those that are. Gotta see if mines still got a heartbeat

It’s a bit like feeding strawberries to pigs, but the shitty superstrat just got a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. That pup alone’s worth twice as much as the whole guitar.

With the new reverse neck it looks the bollocks too…

The whole point of the excercise is to prove to my brand snob mates how little the actual construction of the guitar contributes to killer tone.

Playability, yes… tone, very little. Pretty sure this thing is made of particle board but it sounds and plays amazingly well. Danelectros from the Sear’s catelogue were made of the same stuff back in the day and if they’re good enough for Jack White and Jimmy Page, then this little shitter’s plenty good enough for this little black duck.

I have no idea what you just said but sounds good to me…

Love your guitar work mate, it’s absolutely STUNNING and I take my hat off to you putting the knowledge and passion into creating such “Lipstick on a Pig” creations.
