What Did You Get Up To Today?

That’s how I ran my Hot Rod Business during the summer months.
Work from 5/6 am until the heat hit around 10/11am, then off to the Weir/Dam/River for the heat of the day and return to work around 7/8 pm and work all the way through past midnight.

It’s stupid being expected to work in the heat of the day in outdoor type jobs.

Try being a motorcycle postie…

No heat days in that job. I remember delivering in 46°C heat, just about passing out. Most of the servos and shops would give me free cold drinks just because they felt sorry for me.

All AusPost management would do to help you out is give you Domino’s flyers to deliver to every house on top of your normal mail which pretty much added another couple of hours onto your day. Their solution to heat dress was to stick your head under someone’s front tap to cool off and then get back on your bike and get on with it.

Arseholes… :expressionless:

Dude a guy on a postie bike came through our worksite on Tuesday night popping a mono the whole way through :joy::joy: about 200m on the back wheel…

Top effort :joy:

ice cube and snoop dogg sitting on a porch

Went to brew some gels. Summercat and greens and AKAs

Forgot to strain them last night so they sat overnight.

30% of Summercats were over 7.3mm
Only 10 AKAs were over - about 0.1%

They are replacing some AKAs brewed in December that have started to shatter and curving in GBB

I forgot to put the cat out last night, so I woke up with it sitting on my head   Bugger of a thing.

Annd shearing completed. Got a hot trip in the morning to the local depo to make the interstate semi for the AAAM wool.

Now Dump, don’t you crash world markets or else …

Now that was fun. First rip on a 2023 YZ250F. Damn do they rip. No bottom end but rev it’s tits off it sorta compares with my 23 yo 450 that stomps off idle.

Good fun with mates tearing dirt up :+1:

Just got my long awaited package

Got home from the weekend with that quiet satisfaction you get from a good trip but the work really starts after the shot. What comes next isn’t glamorous, just steady work done properly and with respect for the animal.

I know this sort of thing isn’t for everyone so I’ve kept the photos respectful for those who’d rather not see too much.

A picturesque stretch of pasture, where he was laid to rest.

Processed on site, done properly and with care. Most of it’s out of frame, but rest assured nothing worth taking was left behind.

Back home for the clean-up — skull and antlers boiled and pressure washed, all finished up.

Going back to work tomorrow will be a welcome rest

Looks good.

I think so many people, are so used to buying meat of the shelf at woolies, in a guilt free plastic package…

They forget every time they eat meat, an animal dies.

That’s just the law of the jungle.

Likewise, fishing is also hunting, and you are absolutely correct.

You do not take life except for good reason, make sure nothing is wasted, and respect shown for the animal.

I’ve had one of those spring drum tube mag things here to test and review for a few weeks. It works well and a lot of my m4 mag blasters.

I can’t deal with it though as it just looks awful.
Luckily it’s for my wife, she likes drum mags. And most drums just don’t keep up with the higher rof of many of my m4s.

Actually I’ve had many more bad experiences with M4 drums than good ones. Getting one to fit in and feed more than one blaster in my collection has led me to give away most of them over the years.

I need to get one that works so she can use something other than vectors, as they are getting a bit tired of the abuse!

Great looking rack there, matey. My mouth’s drooling just thinking about the venison.

I’ve got a set of 9 point antlers that I’ve been meaning to clean up and remount. Pretty dodgy as they are, I’d like to lose the hide on the skull plate and make a better board for them.

Seems a shame to not have them on display. :person_shrugging:

Yeah dam shame not to have them hanging on the man cave wall.

I’ve had luck getting scrap planks and boards from fancy carpentry places.

I’ll need a board for this one too, I was thinking of checking this joint out

GBX Repaint, I love this PewPew machine. All metal with a 11v battery, GOAT gels and it goes hard all day!!

Much better in black :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Beautiful collection mate.:ok_hand:
One to get @BME frothing for sure!

The JG “GBX” is a top blaster! I have a tan one that has definitely passed its beauty stage of life as it is one of my tried and true workhorses that have been through much abuse!
Mine is far from standard, but it goes well and never let me down, and didn’t break the bank even with the upgrades.

Nice paint job, might need to give mine similar treatment at some point.

Any updates on your mount? Be great to see it re done

Mines still sitting in the shed waiting some love

No, I haven’t touched the mount yet. Mine are siting in the shed too.

But I will share some pics when it’s done… maybe when this rain stops. :person_shrugging:

Haven’t seen rain for a bloody long time, and yet today is making up for it!

At least it kinda forces me to stay indoors and tinker with some of my RC stuff and maybe even search through some boxes for more bits to finish off my Display Blasters.:+1:

Yeah raining were i am to meh excuse to play with the gelblasters
