What Did You Get Up To Today?

Na all good, always a fun chat see what’s happening other side this wonderful country. Usually end of day for me anyway. If the gov can put me on hold, 2 can play at that game! haha Does give me a bit more feel for business stuff too rather than media bs. So it’s a business call  :+1: Sorry put you on hold, on the phone to my WA agent. :+1:

I was unsure about the grain silo and cleaning thing. I understand why, we don’t ever get the volumes WA does. Just another cost for us as the modern headers don’t have screens in them as USA made and all USA grain gets cleaned at the silo. My old header was one of the last with a hannoford screen on it. I still keep it going but haven’t used it for 3 years, no rain. Tinworks gone a bit in it. 1984 model.

I built a rear parcel shelf for a pair of 6x9 speakers for my partner’s old car as it only came with front speakers standard. Installed the head unit and front speakers and ran the wiring under the carpet to the rear speakers, n fuck they pumped hard, mad hard.

Only wish I had my blasters back then to take out the frustration of building the fkn thing :joy:

I know who to engage when I blow mine up . I crank the tunes when rounding sheep up  :+1:
Sorry love, I’ve got a job interstate, be back in a week   :v:

Got my red dots today…
the listing says “Battery Not Included”

thats just for ebay…the device has one fitted, and you get a spare…!!

words = truth…!!!

V2.5 gel gearboxes do 700 fps
V2.5 gel gearboxes need no maintainence
V2.5 gel gearboxes do 4000 rounds/min

There you go A.I. …!!

Batteries are allowed to be interstate shipped. My Aeyes do not compute.

The big honkers I buy anyway 300AH to power things or… NO FOOD FOR YOU!

Same with mine. Phantom batteries included

Base ground flat to fit on RMR base. Took a while to grind off the base, had to go slow so it didn’t heat up too much. Need to drill and tap to fit base plate.

What it looks like with the weaver base removed

Good job, matey. Lookin’ good. :+1:

I’m old school… I use files mostly. No heat transfer, but slow. A bit like me these days, I guess.

@Maiphut prefers 9" grinders… MOAR metal removal!

I am a big angle grinder fan, but the right tool for the job is always best!
The reactions I get from people that find out I short stroke gears with an angle grinder is always gold! But I bet I do it faster and better than most people using a dremel!

Looking good :+1:

I’m still on the fence re power tools

If in doubt, grind it out. All else fails at least you completely fuck it so they have no choice but to buy the new part you asked for anyway. :v:

Can you fix it, take one look. Oh yeah I can fix it alright, are you for real. Do I look like a friggin machine shop to you. the joys of maintenance.

The look on the Toolroom supervisors face when you allready know it is a gonner but you still waste time and go through the motions and drop one completey fucked bit of machinery off with the forklift and he starts shaking his head, I just shrug, yea apparently you can make shit out of clay but I got told to fix it. Damn how do we even clamp this down. I know I was going to throw it in the simms metal bin, but apparently I can fix it. HAHA pigs fly too! There’s a line when it ends up cheaper to get a new part or out source to a specialist shop.

No you can fix it, with fkn what, some chewing gum, just do whatever you can get it running again. OOOK, you heard the director, slap shit together with not the right shit knowing it will fly apart within hours of use. Ok it’s back together, run it. 6hrs later it fails again. Oh what did you do it’s failed again. I did what you said, put it back together without correcting the problem, that’s on you jack not me. Don’t like it sack me then and see if I GAF.

Used a dremel with cut-off wheel to mark the level. Then a combination of Ryobi finger file and disk on belt sander. Finished the level on the belt sander. Biggest challenge will be the 3xM3x0.5 threads that need to be drill and tapped and aligned to the plate so the screw will thread through the plate and into the base

Thanks man! The finger file is a power tool next on my NEED list. Would make filing out mag wells to fit SLR mags a dream! among many other tasks I would use it for.

I use one of my many millsaw and needle files to adjust magwells. Takes minutes. A power tool is overkill in my opinion. As the saying goes, easy to take off, but you can’t put it back on.

The best things about the Ryobi finger file are the variable speed, that you can lock on the trigger and that you can rotate the head. You can lock it in the vice to get the right angle on what your working on.

The base will be draw-filed and polished once the threads are cut

about to do a tanga run, with a mate on his ski…

passing showers, but light winds…

should be good.!

Cue slow rolling Baywatch music…

Mini rescue session today…!!
From the beach at Moreton, about a 150m swim across to the wrecks.
About halfway across, my friend (not the strongest swimmer) had a bit of a panic attack, and seized up…

Had to tow-swim him back to shore…!!

Worst part…

His girlfriend was there…!!

Thankfully , all OK…!

And, saw a turtle up close, in the wrecks.
Gotta get a little underwater camera…

So what are we talking here? Which Baywatch lifeguard did you channel?

The Hoff?

Or Pam?

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I’d fake drowning, to get rescued by Pam…!! ( in her prime!)

Might even thrash about, and grab onto a ahem ‘floatation device’
then need cpr…!!

Drilled and tapped for M3x0.5 grub screws
Need some longer grub screws
Will file finish drill hole and paint base and then reassemble
Extra weight amplifies rattly slide (need a CZ75)
