This really brings out the colour…inside is dark and muted, outside you see the difference…
Left : ‘custom build’ green
Right: ‘Bitsa Brown’ colour match.
Bottom: ‘HCG brown’ colour match
You can see, the green is quite brownish, and the HCG brown, has a bit of green in it…
I’ll go for a bitsa brown to begin with, just to see what its like large scale…
HCG brown is a safe back up.
Now, to get those blacks sorted…
How many shades of black can there be 
Interior lighting is great for that. Definitely not top left. I’d pick the HCG Brown bit more like the F88 colour.
Yeah, I agree… in that light the HCG brown would be the one I’d use. 
I’m not comparing it to the “original” colour of the movie prop… because as you’ve said before, nobody knows what it is. I’m just saying if I had a brown pulse rifle I’d paint it the bottom one. 
Ultimately the decision is yours, BME…

When i had the cerakoting done, he pulled out a book of available colour shades…
We went through about 10, and there were still way more…
Anyway, i hear what your saying about the HCG, but i reckon i’ll still go for the Bitsa… as a trial anyway.
I already have the original HCG brown Bess model, so i know what that looks like in the flesh. Its a safe back up colour.
But, in my mind, its an annoying colour, because it doesnt look either brown Or olive…
Only one way to find out what bitsa looks like, in the flesh…
If i hate it, can always wipe it down, and back to HCG brown.
They all look the same, with inside lighting anyway…!!
Now, about those blacks…
It’s all good, what looks satisfying to my eyes might not be what you like. Personal touch
Interior lighting these days does warp the natural colour with LED lights and those sorts. Don’t stare into them or you see dots for hours. Yep the old ask me how I know
Oh btw black is black to me and I don’t like it. Especially when people respray classic motorbikes just black because that’s all they can be bothered doing.
My favourite colour is red. Goes faster

You’ll be right, that’s going to suck. I nearly had similar by the sounds but got super doc to fix it with Vampire juice and it’s coming good last week and half.
My friend got surgery done today and in recovery so that’s best news today. I knew she’d pull through, Supergirl.

But isn’t that the element of the movie prop that you’re after?
You know it’s Brown Bess but on screen it comes off as OD green.
So if that colour ambiguity isn’t what you’re after, it’s easy to pick the brown you like best and just run with it.
Don’t get me started on black…let’s nail the brown first
I reckon we do a trial spray of the bitsa first…

I’m getting flashbacks of the old forum member that did lots of brown on the forum. I threw up in my coffee cup. 
Definately something wong upstairs with that certain person.
