Aliens Pulse Rifle gelblaster

Well, its arrived…

And by that, i mean the SW PR conversion kit…,

Interesting getting it out of HK.

First, it was rejected by air mail, failed the density test, and returned back to the seller.

They split the kit up, sent it in 3 packages…

1: the large plastic bits…shrouds etc (Airmail OK)
2: Smaller metal bits ( Seamail)
3: barrel, metal and the electronic stuff. (Seamail)

The issue was, getting it out of HK…
No B709 needed for parts into Oz, and no issues this end.

Moral of the Story: Send stuff via SEAMAIL…direct into BRISBANE…(to avoid syd)

‘Why even bother’, i hear you say…‘are you crazy?’

I’ll quote Hicks on that…

“We got four pulse rifles, with about 50 rounds each…that ain’t so good…”

There you go. If Hicks says only 4 pulse rifles ain’t so good…well…

The reality is, the reasons are three fold.

1: i want a rough pulse rifle, i can knock around and use at a game day.
this will do for that.

2: Painting .
The stock PR’s have grey barrels and stocks etc…bit of a mish mash.
With the kit, it starts all parts apart, so its easy to paint the required bits.

3: I like to suffer?? Like a jedi building his own lightsaber… i wanna have a crack at the process of building this…

When i got the first kit, it was the last one in the wild.
No way was i game to touch it…hence xforce did it.

Now, i feel confident enough to have a crack…and its not a disaster if it doesn’t pan out.

i’ll put it on a hanke ihobby thompson…lets see if it’ll fit.
I wont cut the mag down, it can stay longer for game days.
I’ll weather this one too…so scuffing/ use wear wont be a concern.

The magic brown bess looks great…but its only water based acrylic, and not super durable.

This will stay with the colorfast original SW green shrouds, with all black painted body…

Wish me luck…!!

I see a trip to the Sausage Factory for some dressed pine, dark stain and a coping saw in your immediate future, Beemer.

I’d imagine it would not be a cheap item at X-Force.

Been doing wood myself replacing shed floorboards treated it with Cabbots decking stain. Impressed. Guess I can do wood :joy:

Mind you I still got the 4" grinder out with flap disc to smooth edges and joins out

@BME

Tell you what, Beemer…

I’ll make you one of these stands and you can pay me whatever Vas’ RRP is minus 10%

show pics…!!
Keen to see results…!

As always…the hard work is in the prep…

sure

It’s where the shearers shear, boards were getting worn out.

That timber that’s been torn up would be beautiful for a few projects. :ok_hand:

Great job, Maiphut. :+1:

Next flood, I’m coming to you for an ark.

Being a Farmer, I reckon he’d still have hammers and nails dating back to when Noah was still alive, most likely picked up for $5 at a Clearing Auction! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@BME Congratulations. It is quite expensive with flight cost .

Painting the parts up, for the kit…

Good drying day, inside with the A/C on…
2nd coat on this morning.

When they sent the kit, they didn’t send the dummy shotty shell, for inside the grenade launcher.

I tried the APS shotty shells…they do fit, but i dont wanna waste one.

I don’t suppose anyone has a spare, fired 12 guage shell…??

I could seal it, paint it silver, so it more matches the fictional grenades…

A real one?

How many thousand do you want  Serious though.

Actually, not to worry…

heres a guy on ebay, selling some.

already proper shape, painted , and a cap on…

good enough to jam inside a launcher…

Interesting thing, while using the Dy-mark cans, when spraying…

The colour changes, as the can empties.
It starts as a sharp, flat black…but as it empties, it goes to a dull greyish-black.

I can only assume, the mixing ratio varies, in the last 1/4 of a can, as it runs out of both paint and gas…

Here is a comparo.

Pistol slide was from a fresh can, Spas pump and barrel, touched up with a nearly empty can…

F/fires PR, from a fresh can … vs the SPAS…

Its quite noticeable, especially in the detail highlights…check out the pumps…!!

I first noticed it , painting the new PR shrouds…

Still, useable as a good base coat, and i’ve got some new cans coming…

Oh no… not “the black” again, Beemer… I still haven’t got the PTSD under control from the last batch :rofl:

“You CAN do it…you CAN do it…!!”

You’ll be glad, Dymark has stopped making them…!!

Now, ive gotta find a bunnings homebrew colour , to match it, so the ressurected Dymark black can lives on…!!!

Samples, test sprays, and in depth comparo’s to follow…

You know you want it…!!

Cool! 50 shades of black!

We’ll get the whole pallete soon!

Oh well…
At least, now i KNOW

The Hanke idea is offically dead.
The Hanke receiver is bigger, than the SW thommy base, and just wont fit into the shell.

Its both taller, and wider all around.
I tried dremelling down the obvious highest bind point.
This was around the trigger / magwell area.
I had to remove so much material, the underside of the trigger guard cracked.

That got it in, but it was wide and flexing everywhere.
It just wont fit…

Oh well…spare hanke parts, and spare PR shell kit parts.

The whole idea, was to repaint the ‘grey’ bits to black, on a unpainted green base shround, and use that as a knock around game blaster.

I may just pull apart and paint my green one, sitting in a box , doing not a lot…

Lots of spares, if something breaks…

Ah, that’s a shame, Beemer.

Still, you had a crack… and you know the old saying… “A man who’s never made a mistake’s never made anything

Making mistakes is never a waste of time if you learn from them and apply what you’ve learned to your next project. :+1:
