Well, its arrived…
And by that, i mean the SW PR conversion kit…,
Interesting getting it out of HK.
First, it was rejected by air mail, failed the density test, and returned back to the seller.
They split the kit up, sent it in 3 packages…
1: the large plastic bits…shrouds etc (Airmail OK)
2: Smaller metal bits ( Seamail)
3: barrel, metal and the electronic stuff. (Seamail)
The issue was, getting it out of HK…
No B709 needed for parts into Oz, and no issues this end.
Moral of the Story: Send stuff via SEAMAIL…direct into BRISBANE…(to avoid syd)
‘Why even bother’, i hear you say…‘are you crazy?’
I’ll quote Hicks on that…
“We got four pulse rifles, with about 50 rounds each…that ain’t so good…”
There you go. If Hicks says only 4 pulse rifles ain’t so good…well…
The reality is, the reasons are three fold.
1: i want a rough pulse rifle, i can knock around and use at a game day.
this will do for that.
2: Painting .
The stock PR’s have grey barrels and stocks etc…bit of a mish mash.
With the kit, it starts all parts apart, so its easy to paint the required bits.
3: I like to suffer?? Like a jedi building his own lightsaber… i wanna have a crack at the process of building this…
When i got the first kit, it was the last one in the wild.
No way was i game to touch it…hence xforce did it.
Now, i feel confident enough to have a crack…and its not a disaster if it doesn’t pan out.
i’ll put it on a hanke ihobby thompson…lets see if it’ll fit.
I wont cut the mag down, it can stay longer for game days.
I’ll weather this one too…so scuffing/ use wear wont be a concern.
The magic brown bess looks great…but its only water based acrylic, and not super durable.
This will stay with the colorfast original SW green shrouds, with all black painted body…
Wish me luck…!!
