"Come Quietly, or there will be Trouble"...( No, not a mother in law porno..Robocop Auto 9!)

Ok, “Aesthetics” of robo, are done for now…

I had to dremel the grips out even more (!!) to get the mag all the way up, to connect and feed gels properly.

And remove some more material, to ensure functionality of switches / levers etc. Top right grip screw doesn’t attach as nothing is underneath…but 3 out of four ain’t bad…

It feeds and fires.

The muzzle is only friction fitted at the moment, and can pivot.
When my pipes arrive, i plan to attach a pipe to the M93 barrel ( via KEle threaded compensator), all the way through to protruding out the front.

Drill 3 holes, in the appropriate spot.
Then increase pipe diameter via tape, to a tight fit.

This will align the barrel / muzzle properly, allow gels to pass through, and prevent the muzzle from pivoting. Just waiting for the pipes to arrive.

Now, how do i get that 3 round burst…??

Muzzle alignment slightly off in the photos.
Pipe will fix that.

And, at the end, i’ll probably re-do the grips again.

Anyway, aesthetic work complete, for now…

YOUR MOVE, CREEP…!!

Yeah, I was gonna says it looks like you’ve been using ground up Viagra tablets to fill the print lines.

It looks like it’s got a bit of a Robo-erection… :man_shrugging:

Get that sucker aligned, it’s triggering my OCD.

“You have suffered an emotional shock.
I will notify a rape crisis helpline.
Good night”.

Weelll I was going to mention that along with his short big toe but I didn’t want to upset the fella. ooops

Ok.
Got my pipes from china today.

I measured the removable barrel tip, it was 16mm.

I ordered 16mm, 17 mm, and 15mm.

just as well, the 16mm doesn’t fit at all, and the 15mm is a perfect fit…

I may need to cut down the M93 supplied moderator, as it screws into the remaining thread of the barrel. Then , tape and epoxy it into place. Barrel end secure.

Then cut off the remaining length, so 2cm of barrel protrudes.
Then ( harder part) drill the 3 holes into the pipe, which align with the rectangular slots…

I can feel a @Friendly_Fire visit, coming on…!!

Dont wanna screw this up, i only have one pipe.
Chinese new year will see anything out of china stopping for awhile…

That tube seems to have sorted out the case of “happy dick” it had in your previous photos. :joy:

You’re going to need more than just holes in that… more like square slots needle filed into it. :man_shrugging: would be easier to just put one long slot in the tube on each side that runs the length of those vents.

This is the original 3d printed piece.
It fits in the muzzle end, and the tip protrudes about 2 cm.
Its too thick and rough, for gels to pass through.

It has round holes, which align with the rectangle slots…window dressing.

Thats why i wanted the pipe to be a two-fer-one…

Align the muzzle and the inner barrel, smooth surface for gels, protrude 2cm , and drill in the the 3 holes at the correct spot.

I may yet have to trim down the M93 moderator, but if it fits on with a firm “stop” position, holes can be drilled in the correct place.

Then paint it black, and viola…!!

Thats what happens when Nanny states take your blasters away…

Almost there…

Waiting for paint to dry, now.

Creative innovative retention solution, courtesy of @Friendly_Fire .

I was thinking of chopping the M93 screw in moderator off ( it was too wide to fit in the 3d printed Muzzle hole).
Problem was, only a tiny amount of thread left…likely too little to mount the 15mm pipe onto.

So, using Friendlies drill press, we (He!) filed the moderator down, removing about .8 mm all round.
That allowed the Moderator to screw into the M93 normally, and the Moderator to Very Tightly fit in the 3d Muzzle hole.

The 15mm barrel was then cut to the remaining length, protruding the correct amount, and the 3 vent holes marked and drilled.

I painted the 15mm barrel today, 2 coats, so let it dry overnight, then wriggle it in.

It if a tight friction fit, so no Epoxy required, and its all removable and strippable.

Just some minor heating, bending of a couple of minor attachment components, then screw em in.

Then, Robo’s all ready to go…!!

I doubt we will ever see, a proper gel version ever released, so this will be it…

(throws challenge out, to tempt universe…)

Its only a 140 fps KEle, but better than nothing…

Crap.
Crappity crap.

Putting the finishing touches, on robo….
Turned my back to get something and,
It falls off the kitchen bench, and lands on the hard floor…

On the thinned out grips….

Of course it cracked…!!
:rage::rage::rage::rage:

It’s able to be reinforced internally, with some hot glues as a temporary fix, but the grips are stuffed…

Time to start all over again, on the grips…

Buy from the states, wait, hope they arrive unmelted, Dremel the buggery out again, sand , finish, paint….

Gawd, I was glad to see the end of it all, but here we go again…!!

:rage::rage::rage::rage::rage:

The grip can’t be repaired?

It’s amazing what you can acheive with a bit of glue, filler and paint. :man_shrugging:

photos when i get back home…

There is a horizontal crack line, and some lost “filling piece of debris”

Its still in one piece, but we all know what our OCD does / doesn’t let us accept…

At least it fell on the handle only, and didnt bang and chip the muzzle as well…

You can get these handheld printer pens, they’re like a hot glue guns but you feed filament through it, handy for repairing cracked it broken prints you can’t get reprinted.

Buffering…
Please wait…

Ok, here’s the damage…
I reinforced internally, with some hot glue, and resprayed one coat, too see if the paint could fill and cover the hairline crack…

Nope…

Its in one piece for now, the hairline crack runs across the side , full length, around the front and around the back.

It was wafer thin before, but now im feeling nervous…

I’ll go to jaycar 2morrow, next door to xforce, the guy there is a whiz on 3d printing… he has heaps of robots / scifi stuff printed on display.

Long term prognosis, i’ll probably order another and re-do it all again.

Like dropping nukes from orbit…its the only way to be sure…!

I’ll probably wait a month or so before placing the order, let the temp cool down, to avoid any possible hot postage sag…

I was going to order a spare wekser supp / silencer, so an extra robo handle shouldn’t be a biggie.

@DChapo , if i show the US supplier the photos of what im doing ( and how much material i’m removing) can he modify the 3d print so its thicker/stronger fill around the outer layers of the grip…for more strength.??

Or, does that require modifying the parent file.??

I might ask if he can print in stronger material as well…

Lets see…

Can’t epoxy it, Gorilla glue . Sand, filler, sand and paint :person_shrugging:

Matty? Yeah we have a chat whenever I pop in.

They shouldn’t need to modify the model itself but the print settings (except for maybe that magwell to allow for a proper fit). It looked like it only had like 2 maybe 3 wall perimeters, meaning it’s only 2>3 layers thick which is not very much at all for a part like that, also things like infill density and pattern as well as the material used can affect it strength.

You could ask them to reprint it with a stronger material like PETG or ABS and with a thicker wall.

at least you’ll go into the replacement knowing exactly what to do and what works best so you should fairly fly through it, except for waiting for the dry times to continue to the next step.

definitely a shame it got messed up this round
