Maybe some Magpul MBUIS might even co witness with the red dot
Looks great n fits perfectly
Good suggestion for the MBUS Magpul iron sights, @Maiphut
Used them before on other blaster builds and never really liked them much… but kinda digging them on the M4 shorty.
Trying to get into my slr ion today but can’t for the life of me make my way past this point. I know I need to take the mag release out but she just won’t budge. Anybody know the magic trick to get these apart?
Above the trigger, pull that pin joined by a bar on the outside. Antiwalk trigger pin.
Ok cool that worked but any ideas for the mag release?
I’ve not had a SLR ION on the bench yet.
Might be like the cyma scar, push the mag release in and look up the mag well to find a grub screw…
Or might be a push it in deep enough that you can rotate the latch side around to unscrew it.
Hope it is one of those two, cause if not I’m out of ideas!
I vaguely remember seeing a mag release like that on something and there was a grub screw on the side of the button, kinda like what Rok said, kinda like how some selector levers are attached.
Got a PPsH gearbox cheap from TE thinking I’ll make something different with it ( I know they’re not the best performing unit).
Open up Fusion and spend like an hour measuring and mocking up the gearbox to build off of.
Get a notification that my account is no longer supported and that I can’t save or export anything. had this account for like 10years from my Uni days.
Indicates I need an active subscription to use and save.
Look at pricing…$750 annually for the individual version…
fuck that.
Try to get the free version again, the version I’ve been using this whole time.
Can’t use account because it’s a student one, Uni must have finally gone thru and deleted old student licenses or something.
Created new account, looses all the projects I’ve worked on along with the last hour I spent modelling this gearbox, can’t link to old account group cause don’t have access to that old account now…
Not really my bag, baby… but today’s job on the bench…
MP9 stick magazine conversion to drum. An unused MAC-10 drum mag put to good use.
Don’t really groove on drum mags on small SMGs, but it’s not for me and my missus will appreciate not having to change low capacity stick mags all the time.
This little beastie…
CYMA M4 / EM Cannon hybrid. Modified the front EM assembly, removed the back end to eliminate the awful rear stock, MBUS flip up iron sights, alloy buffer tube, crane stock and new grip. Much more ergonomic and comfortable to shoulder. Heavy little bastard though.
M4 is a full metal lower with CYMA metal box, nylon upper. 320FPS with an M100 spring. I have another M4 upper kitted out CQB style, so pin out, upper receiver and IB swap, stock swap and it’s a shortie.
I do like flexibility in my blasters.
What Matt Damon should have used in Elysium
Put some led light strips on it for full points
That looks dope… looks a bit naked but at the same time not… kinda streamlined
Should call it the G-Banga
Pure awesomeness
Yeah… you can see here why I ditched the rear stock.
Looks cool, but grab a chin weld and it’s like standing on a Lego block in bare feet.
The crane’s much more comfy and gives a better sight line to the irons… better battery storage too.
I honestly reckon, you should get in touch with the movie props dept of WB movies, down the coast.
Show em some of your sci-fi themed work, all done up and weathered, and i reckon you could find yourself with some work coming your way.
There’s not that many people, who can build up props, get em working and weathered, for use in movies / tv shows…
Also, let em know, i can rent em out some pulse rifles, if theyre desperate…
And, they’ll use your magic back deck, for sure…!!
That’s a great idea BME
@Friendly_Fire I second that notion, you’d be perfect candidate for a weapon prop designer, probably worth a bit of coin if they picked you up and put you on the payroll
You should definitely look into it
I have thought about that…
Think I’d need to pick up the skills a bit first though…
In many recent b-grade movies I have spotted gas pistols that look straight off the shelf!
Anyone who has watched Generation Kill, the weapons used to film in non-action scenes were all Classic Army airsoft guns.
I know, it’s kinda ridiculous…
Even in “the rookie”, they use a/soft pistols and cgi firing effects…
On several close up shots, you can see the gas fill port in the mag…l
At least cover that up, and black it out….
It shatters the illusion.
If you know, you know…
