Current project on your bench

Mostly for aesthetics but it wouldn’t hurt to work, the AliExpress one hits around 150fps so it’s not the worst, I mean at least it wasn’t shattering the gels before leaving the barrel like the video x-force posted on theirs

The Bing Feng M203s would be lucky to hit the ton.:joy:

With a range of about two metres :rofl:

Maybe I’ll find one, maybe not

Definitely didn’t think the scar version would look any good on any of my blasters so wasn’t keen on that at all…

One day, maybe I’ll scrounge one up somewhere

Until then, AliExpress it is, going to get another as I gave the original one I got to my son for his LH HK416

Hey mate, just seen your comments/wiring diagram.

As you have drawn it, that would put the two batteries in “series” , which multiplies the voltage output of each battery, but the mAh and “C” capacities stays the same as each individual battery states.

To connect 2 batteries in “parallel”, you join all 4 output wires to the single connector plug.

Both batteries -neg to the single -neg on the plug and both batteries +pos to the single+pos on the plug.

This gives the same voltage as the batteries are rated at, yet doubles the mAh and “C” ratings available at the plug.

Parallel or Series for a Setup using 2 LiPo Packs? (RC Cars, Airplanes, Boats) - RCexplained

The only thing I found strange in that article is that they said the C rating doesn’t change when wired in parrarel. :thinking:

It won’t change when wired in series, as you are doubling the voltage drawn from the packs that have to output the same maximum C rating from each pack.

Whereas in parrarel, you are still only outputting the same voltage from each battery, effectively halving the load on each battery, or on the flipside, DOUBLING the available mAh and C ratings as each battery is only working at half capacity given the same voltage output.

I dunno, but in parallel of course a battery won’t go above it’s c rating… or output. It’s impossible.

Above my paygrade. :+1:

Perhaps they refer to the individual battery and not as combined on the output end. That’s how I understand it anyway.

I dunno stick a 454 in it see how that goes :rofl: :rofl:

C rating has always been a farse in my books as long as you get good batteries that balance out near smack on even then you know you have a good one. Repeatedly.

It depends on the capacity of your battery too as a 4000Mah 20c Lipo will output way more than a 800Mah “50c” battery.

Dead right mate, as all the testing on modern equipment of most new batteries only output 15-20C max, even though they are being advertised as 50/70/80/100/120C! :roll_eyes:

Yes why I don’t rely on that C rating that is on nearly all of them. It’s bullshit tested it myself years ago with Nano techs and while they are ok they sure as shit weren’t doing anything above the standard ones.

Just get good quality like maybe for your Boat some of those SMC’s as that is a high power setup. But I could probably throw some of my old 20C 4S Turnigy’s in there and it will rip.

Don’t get down because those Ovonics shat the bed I was dubious but you’d already bought them. All part of it we try and see what works and what doesn’t. Trying to figure it out down to the nitty last dime is a time soak as the many manufacturers do all sorts of things just to get product out the door.

Vector double drum mag that identifies as a single drum. :joy:

Never really grooved on the awkwardness of the double drum anyway and as usual the left/right switching had corroded and crapped out so neither side functioned. Out with the hacksaw and soldering iron.

Much more comfy for a righty now, if a little odd looking. But hey, it’s a Vector… some say it looks odd already. :wink: and the drum, while offset, is nicely tucked up high on the blaster.

Not as odd as this one with a speedloader screwed into the top of it, at any rate :rofl:

Rotate that top pic, 45 degrees , counter clockwise…
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

BBC material…!!
:rofl::rofl:

Looks like a p===> with a swollen :peanuts: :joy::rofl:

Well well… looks like Freud was right after all… :rofl:

Haven’t you guys got better things to do? Like fight over the last piece of pizza crust? :thinking:

I find this hilarious… my wife calls the vector double drums a “ballsack”. :joy:

well i decided to change the cylinder in my aps ak bc of that volume graph that was posted

old on top new inside

:thinking:

Petty much all aksxcept for the ak74u and the super short types should be a full cylinder.

Even the ak74u the stock cylinder is a bit touch short on volume. I am going to do up my aps ak74u soon, just have a couple of projects to finish first.

Yep first thing I did on my APS AK many moons ago along with a SHS full metal ladder piston, AG 1.18, new o ring and never looked back :+1: Smack on 300fps and runs like a champ.

I pulled it out of the safe for some sexy pic and a fondle. Really is a solid blaster after I did some tweaking to my liking.

That front end handgaurd setup, is not for the feint of heart. I remember me taking hours to sort that out but it was an early production model and they changed things for the better.

Handles well, love it. :+1:

some testing
got some ASG springs on sale from Ausgel. M95, M105, M115, M125 and M135
needless to say i dont think ill be trying the M115 or above

the stock spring is shorter at 155mm
the ASG springs are all 180mm

waiting on the red dot to go on top

Asg springs ratings are different to the normal SHS scale of things.

Say an SHS m100 with good seals and volumes and barrel 335mm or less will get 330fps… but with a 380mm barrel will get 370fps… the asg ratings are for the longer barrel. So the SHS scale equivalent m100 is the asg m115.

Sure is, was many discussion about this on the old forum, trial and error.

But what he said :+1:

No need to go overboard, V3 box so ultra strong compared to the APS V2 that was a nightmare if you did not despring it out the factory was only way it would survive on the V2.

The AK V3 is pretty bullet proof. I tried to kill it and it still lives :rofl: Easily get high numbers. Not sure if they went full metal ladder piston in that model but was one of the critiques they took onboard and hopefully rectified. Doesen’t hurt to check as metal gears on plastic piston ladder equal me blow up sometime soon. :rofl: :+1:
