Current project on your bench

from what ive been told , LDT is now going high end.

Releasing new items as 'Kit Only", with you supplying / installing the goods.

Were talking $1000 kits.

Which is probably why, we haven’t seen anything new in awhile from LDT…

Tough sell, at that price point.

Well seeing as I haven’t got $2 to rub together atm that’ll count me out

Might go buy another RC plane or buggy instead! Or 5 for that price.

They won’t sell many of those if that is the case. Bye bye LDT. Always been hit and miss with LicksDiksTremendously imo :open_mouth:

Put the shittiest gearbox ever made in a not too bad shell and that’ll be $500 thanks. You end up throwing the gearbox , line that bin up that’s where that goes.

I see a ban hammer on my horizon  :+1:

Yes LDT is now fancy and expensive. Good reason as to why WAT stopped getting them I think.

They always had pretty decent externals with mediocre internals, then the last batches we seen here with ldx basics was a pretty good offering though still not cheap stuff but you sort of got what you paid for.

I don’t one bit think a split gearbox is a sell point, but they were decent boxes, made for great “drop in” replacement or upgrade for the novice enthusiasts. Their expert shell were pretty good, though always sold out so didn’t see a lot of them.

If we were to get them in, would be very limited numbers, which is a big risk in itself as supporting after the sale is difficult if the need arises, something that is important to me. I hated not being able to access parts for new blasters when I worked at a retailer, so products with parts support is a big factor.

Which leads me to my thoughts on E&C… yes they are nice. But they aren’t as nice as the Australian prices on them IMO. Anywhere else in the world gets them cheaper by a good margin.

mm The LDX what was it basic fkn expert and whatever the fk it was were not cheap and middle of the road on build quality when you could get something like a Laylax or Retroarms for about the same money and top tier build quality from my experience.

The bin job is the Warinterest V2. Baptism by fire, first fkn gearbox and being second hand it was quickly munted to dog shit before I even touched it. I pulled all the fitter tricks to recorrect things, nope bag of shit, bin in you go. Everything is wrong in the design of the warinterest gb, bullshit screws, fkall clearance for your motor wires, plastic casting made out of cheese. Bin job don’t even bother.

Wipe the plate and start again. With something that actually works. :+1:

The APS was ok as long as you did a few tweaks on it and no dry firing!

I have seen a couple of those kits at WAT, yeah definitely not worth it

Ah ha you’re a Vegemite kid too. :+1: :joy:

I’ve certainly had a few backfires reading this place. Oh damn have to clean the screen and keyboard again.

I know I get a bit uncouth at times, but for real do not take it personally. Some of my RL experiences just oops spill out here.

I read some stuff, wtf was that all about. If you want help pics speak a thousand words. Sound off

Before I forget @BME if you ever do go the wells cylinder head in that APS Phantom extremis(most places have them X-force etc) you’ll need to file the front face down to get it to fit on the location pins.

This area…
WELLS

That I very expertly highlighted in red. :joy:

I used a flat file, try not to score the nozzle and file a bit and test, file a bit test, wash, rinse and repeat until it gets in like Mrs Marsh :joy:

But you have great results from a bit of maintenance so I wouldn’t bother for now. :+1: Maybe if you get bored one day :+1:

I used to attack them with another method, elongating the locating holes with a small round Jewellers File to get them to locate into the dowels.

You can do it that way but then you’ll have to trim your cylinder down on the APS iirc.

To fit an aftermarket 72mm cylinder. The standard APS cylinder with the teardrop port is 70mm.

But there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Too true mate, and I wasn’t playing with APS, just whatever model I happened to be putting together at the time with whatever parts I had on the bench.

Time to freshen up the EVO3

Revisited the forward wiring, the battery now resides in the MOE vert grip, gives a cleaner Scorpion look. Much better aesthetic than the Magpul slide previously used.

Building up a full bore Singularity box for it, target FPS around 350, easily acheived with a Gen 8.

It may be old, it may not be high quality, but it’s one of my favourite SMG platforms… and I have a ton of stick mags for it… and a drum mag

An oldie but a goodie! I also love my older gel blasters, especially my gen 8 SCAR :star_struck:…can’t go wrong with a gen 8!

I agree :100:

Despite the latest Gucchi offerings I still like my old school units. Must just be the nostalgia…

Right I gotta go fill out 10 pages of bookwork out, 50 shades of black and white, sign my life away. What was your address again? inbound T909 B double of sheep. Good lawn mowers

Anyone heard of E&C gearboxes melting triggers?

Friend took his in to for a broken barrel (dropped) and apparently the tech said the gearbox would need to be replaced soon cause of something like that.

Unless they’ve using the shittest of metal for the contacts or he’s running a super high amp battery I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that being a possibility in most scenarios.

Likely just referring to the contacts arced out which happens if you don’t dielec grease them regularly and run high amps :man_shrugging:

Melting could happen of the contacts which is held in place by plastic, likely just a play on words. Maybe not :man_shrugging:
