She can, get a can kit for them. At the moment though focus is on parts and blasters that are coming over the next few weeks and months.
The handguard was purely me wondering if it would work and not be perishable.
Does work, a little shiny though I think a sand and or coat of something would be well worth it.
Just satisfying curiosities really! Thanks for the measurements
I know that lengthening the barrel on an MP9 is an excercise in disappointment.
But then if you saw the size and stroke of the cylinder you’d understand why… microscopic. It’s got to be one of the most VE sensitive blasters I’ve ever fettled… and I suspect there’s a bit of suctioning going on during the return stroke with the rather ordinary piston head.
I had a too long inner barrel prior to trim tuning that was hitting about 180FPS on the chrono in my MP9. Just trimming off about 25mm gave a gain of about 20, fine tuning the length got it up to this…
I’m stopping there… might as well end on a high note
But now I’ve gotta order a couple of prime switches for them… the lever’s not overly secure in the switch and has disappeared into the void. Lucky for me they’re on ebay.
@BME He may have upgraded his piston spring… if you measure the coil duameter and find a spring with the same OD but thicker guage spring wire you’d slap harder. I notice he’s running a sup too, so probably longer barrel length.
Always going to have the low cylinder volume to deal with though.
I don’t know how he did got 290-300, but I’m happy with this result. Compare the stock one with the upgraded one and the upgrade version’s noticeably more nasty.
This one got a custom o ring to improve compression, a spacer on the spring, a reducer at the t piece and a tuned barrel. The piston head is pretty woeful but completely proprietry. If I had a lathe I’d make a bespoke custom running a better o ring, and I reckon that would help a lot.
“ I have the biggest barrel, the best barrel…
I have the highest fps…a lotta people can’t believe my fps…tremendous…
My Bigly huge hands, make it look small…it’s really big, really…believe me…”
Figured out why I was having feeding issues with the MK417/LDX build… Had grabbed the only 7.3mm barrel I own and was using me standard sized gels so naturally it wouldn’t feed.
Have swapped the gearbox into a proper HK receiver, tossing up if I want a longer handguard and go a M27/IAR build or stick with a traditional HK416.
220-230FPS, Aimpoint clone red dot, laser sight, suppressor that actually quietens it down hiding a Rizer hop up, Surefire X300 clone, pic rail added to left side.
I am quite happy with mine, itching to get some time to tinker with it, so far just had a few pews at home and took it to Donnybrook for a secondary, 220fps is stupid accurate out of the box, be happy to just use the hopup barrel that is coming hopefully this week… be a good test!
Hi everyone,I bought this receiver about a fortnight ago now and have discovered that what I thought would be a great build has turned into a blank wall, at current with all my little efforts last night with really no better info in identifying the maker and or what gearbox that may fit it.
I’ve tried a number of gearboxes…ldx, MK tactical, double bell, warintrest and a few other brands with no luck.
It appears that the ambi selector switches interfere with the gearbox.
So with the community think tank here I’m hoping I may get some answers.
G’day, that’s an SLR receiver. Says so on the side.
I haven’t played with one of those but in time someone that has will hopefully chime in.
AFAIK you’ll have to remove the ambi selectors out, anti walk pins that hold the gearbox in, fit the gearbox. It takes a V2 type gearbox so I’d think an LDX might fit.
