Current project on your bench

JingJi were the ones who seemed to focus on SLR receivers, I have a number of SLR builds but none came with ambi selectors, they were nylon shells thou

The nylon shells would take just about any gearbox without issue too. Can’t say I’ve seen a metal one around though, not JingJi branded at least.

Not all gearboxes are made to accommodate ambi selectors too.

should i share pics of my nerf blasters? i don’t need some karen ratting me out to the coppas you know

I wonder if it’s one of these

SLR CNC Aluminum V2 Gel Blaster Receiver Kit, Gel Blaster Parts, Limit – RPM Techshop

Either way Silverbak you’ll have to strip the receiver down further to get a V2 box in.

If it’s only the ambi fire select hanging it up losing that is a small sacrifice… good looking receiver. :+1:

Thanks for the reply…and not to be sounding like a smart ass I am quite aware that it is a SLR ,I’ve got 2,but they’re both nylon. This receiver is metal and I’ve stripped it of all external parts.

I’ve got 2 other gearboxes that I’ve not tried but are currently in rifles, they are a retro arms and GBF box.

Mmm not sure, the charging hand and receiver pins are different unless it’s changed since RPM posted the images, also the paint looks different, RPMs one is more matte.

Doing a quick search I can’t see any other metal SLR shells thou.

It could be a DYTAC SLR receiver… which take a cyma metal box.
Actually, the captive rear receiver pin looks identical to a metal cyma… that would be my bet.

The MK wont fit the upper on, they are annoyingly just a little fatter up top than most, and CYMAs and a lot of metal blasters just dont have the room.

You could remove the ambi selectors, and make it single side with a blank side if the selectors are the only issue. Might need a normal V2 selector plate and a selector to do it

Second nerf flywheel blaster build from like august.

Decided to mod a nerf flywheel core with a different pusher system.

Bought a john wick pit viper boxed collectors edition from a lad at work for cheap.

Unfortunately the mag lips are broken so need to replace those, also he tried to spray paint the white writing off of it and it’s gone on the outer barrel through the holes in the slide, I think the mag must’ve been inserted when he did it as there appears so be some traces of the paint on the mag as well

What’s the best way to remove the paint without damaging the original paint? (If possible)

I’m not sure what type/brand spray paint was used

these should be the right mag lips yeah?

I’m pretty sure it’s this john wick pit viper

Slowly getting there with isopropyl alcohol, a soft bristle toothbrush and a microfiber cloth, still a little ways to go

Any tips on bringing back some shine afterwards would be much appreciated

Ooh… looks like that outer barrel might be anodized… hit with any kind of metal polish and you’ll rip through that anodizing and you won’t be happy with the result. :person_shrugging:

I think it looks pretty cool as it is, personally. :+1:

Good job. :ok_hand:

Thanks mate

Still not perfect but going from black

To that

I think is a big improvement, also kinda has that worn look that beemers so fond of :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Now to put it back together again and get a new mag lip

Might need to watch a video to get it back together right :joy:

Edit:

Not sure it’s quite right as there’s a little gap towards the front of the barrel where the fake compensator is :expressionless:

Stopped by x-force and grabbed some new mag lips for the pit viper

Had fun finding the black plastic retainer when it went flying after my finger slipped putting it back together :joy:

Baby steps I know, child’s play to most, a pain in the ass for a fiddle fingers like myself :grimacing::joy:

I’ll take a victory no matter how big or small

Hi again, guys. I was going to buy this metal handguard + outer barrel from @AKgelblaster for a fully custom M4 Build with a standard steel (airsoft) receiver (since I couldn’t find a gelsoft one), which, after some research, will fit a standard gelsoft v2 gearbox. However, back to the barrel, I’m not sure which t-peice will go well with it - possibly a CYMA M4 or JM gen9? I’ll be using standard nylon CYMA M4 mags for it as well. Here’s the link to the handguard: CNC KAC Style RIS (RAS) 7 inch handguard (With Optional Barrel Kit) – AKgelblaster
Thanks guys!

It would be more dependent on the gearbox as most aftermarket barrels have different sized notches cut to accommodate the different t-pieces.
Some use a grub screw that you thread into different holes drilled into the barrel to adjust the locating pin position so it aligns the right notches for the t-piece, of that made sense.

All my stuffs packed away for a move so I don’t have one handy to demonstrate, but just looking at the image of that barrel it looks to have multiple cutouts.

Generally it is best to use a barrel adaptor, then add outer barrels to it to customise length.
You can see in this photo what @DChapo means.

Just be sure to get gel blaster outer barrels, as airsoft inner barrel diameter is around 8.5mm, and most gel blaster barrels are 9.5mm so they won’t fit.

This is really a case of “why the hell not?”

Le Hui Scorpion EVO3 with a JM Gen 12 V3 gearbox. Proof of concept at this stage, and so far, it’s a yeah. :+1:

I already have one running a big-arse Gen 8, but I’ve always wanted a semi-auto version. Tried Urrkii MOSFETs and no joy. This one won’t have fire select, it will be a single shot semi only blaster but that’s what I’m after for indoor CQB anyway. Aiming for around 280FPS, should be easy enough.

It’ll be a fun Frankenbuild and something to do with all this shitty weather about to hit us, at any rate. :person_shrugging:
