Current project on your bench

Well, I finally stripped the nylon gears in my latest CYMA CQB shortie build yesterday… I guess it was inevitable running an M100 spring in it, ain’t no nylon box that can take that kind of punishment forever.

So a good opportunity to kit it out with metal gears and an M90 spring today. Sitting on around 260FPS after rebuild so obviously some airseal improvements to be made there down the track. :sunglasses:

The nozzle in particular was letting the team down a bit. Great compression in the cylinder until that sucker went on. :person_shrugging:

Picked up this BF MK14 EBB cheap, came with no mag, a 7.4v battery with no charger (despite them sold with an 11.1v), no flash hider, no bipod

And a couple of issues, receiver mag terminals bent to buggery, mag catch appeared broken, mag prime wasn’t feeding gels to the t piece from the mag

With a little help from @RokSolid @Friendly_Fire and Low Guido’s review video, I decided to pop my teardown cherry and pull it apart to trouble shoot

Bit of exposed wire from the battery to the motor, nothing a little electrical tape won’t fix

Long story short, turned out the mag catch wasn’t broken, just not seated correctly, rectified that issue easily

Receiver terminal leafs were back to front, very tight fit to swap them back around the correct way but got it done with a little effort, not much but did have to take care

Was not ready to pull the gearbox apart  baby steps again lol, but that will be my next venture

Tested the mag prime and mag catch while it was apart, quick test fire

Gels flying out the barrel across my room, success :+1:t2::joy:

Reassembled, gave it another test fire, working like it should. Happy days :call_me_hand:t2:

Only issue is I missed reseating the safety switch properly so no safety but I’ll get that sorted easily enough.

Much thanks to the boys for their help and guidance, cheers rok and friendly :pray:t2:

Ah, well done, Shadow. :+1: Good on ya.

Great to see all your problems were easily sorted. Easy fixes by the sound of it.

Only thing I’d recommend is eventually getting some heatshrink on that exposed wire though. Means desoldering at the motor though… dunno how you feel about that. :person_shrugging: Still, tape’s good enough to get you choochin’ for now.

Mate… you’ve broken the seal now. The floodgates are open. You’ll be rebuilding blasters like a champion soon.

Enjoy that EBR… they’re a lot of fun. :ok_hand:

Anything is possible

Tempted to have a look at the young fellas LH HK416 that’s got a trigger issue when I have a bit more time, hopefully it’s just a similar misalignment problem because I hear parts for those are ghosts of ancient past and were few and far between from the git go

Thanks again
