Current project on your bench

So the reality of the uber-SBR M4 gel blaster is… it’s shite.

That 10cm barrel combined with the forward wiring made this little hoover a blaster that wasn’t just underpowered (around 200FPS) but also an absolute pain in the arse to tear down for service. :person_shrugging:

I’ve got other short units that fulfill that role much better i.e. APC9K, MP5K, MP9, etc.

So today it was back on with a buffer tube, rear wiring and a barrel length of just under 30cm which, with an 80% ported cylinder, seems to be behaving itself nicely producing around 270… my sweetspot FPS and not too shabby for a shortie. :+1:

Integrating a length of IB fitted with the rubber band hop up into the suppressor helps heaps with the accuracy.

Tinkering with it has been a fun way to kill boredom, but the moral is…

Maybe don’t try to reinvent the wheel…

No matter how many times you try and reinvent the wheel, they ALWAYS come out exactly the same!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I had so much trouble with this blaster that i just left it in my basement for 8 months. The gearbox wouldn’t seat properly so the blaster would seize up and get stuck on safety and at the time I didn’t know that was the problem. I got that sorted and now the charging handle is giving me issues.

The SLR’s are normally quite a good model Gelblaster, but in this hobby there’s plenty of little things that can go wrong!

It just takes time and patience working through each little component to ensure everything is operating as it should to keep them active and reliable.:+1:

how to make your AK looks more modern🥺
(plz ingnore the rusty lever and muzzle brake and upper

"Type 53 7.62 Light Machine Gun Sling” , which may be modern replica cuz the characters simplyfied Chinese was not widely used then.

Some other dude’s live fire project…

He’s after metal shrouds…resin ones crack when fired…

One day…in another country…!!

Just saying the words “Shotgun cut down to length”, would get you arrested here…!!

Fitted a pic rail and vert grip to the sup of my BT9.

In long config it’s more MP9.

With the sup and the stock off it’s pure BT9 pistol.

Oh what a story this :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: has made!

BME’S went so smoothly. Mine not so much!

Purchased for a good deal with 4 spare mags and no muzzle after falling for BME’s.

Originally intended to just do bushes, gears, but of seal work and a spring, use a spare neo motor I had laying about, just tickle for what I had and didn’t want to spend any money further on it.

Well… well used E&C happened!

Bushes in, radiused the box, shimming was a nightmare as for gel reasons they just didn’t play nice with the gearbox and bushes, total opposite of BME’s!

New piston and head, cylinder head, spring, o-rings, and spare SHS black motor. Long winded for what should have been simple but this thing wasn’t finished with me!

The trigger contacts decided to fail. Replace trigger block, and then it started having shorts… found that and then semi got unreliable, fixed that, trigger sticky, fixed that, semi non existent…

Stuff it. This was 3 spare weekend days over a couple months wasted.

Today, t238 basic installed, works… no feeding…
The mag wires colours are backwards… FFS!

Sorted that… stuff it… have it all!
28k Solink brushless, and a summer cat hopup barrel. Mlok accessories and a nice scope and mount. Done!

Works well finally!

@BME for record… mine also has an m120 spring though mine is well used from my spares pile.
Actually tried 6 springs before finding one that did the fps close to Donnybrook’s 370fps limit, and it’s dicey! All the m110 and similar I tried were woeful struggling to get over 300fps, on got 320 which is close to the stock spring.

Looks good, can’t wait to field it! Not for all day though as it is long heavy and obnoxious, but that it the charm of it!

Its that gel consistent manufacturing tolerances…

precision build, after precision build…!!

Wow, sounds like it gave you the works…!!

Glad you got there…

It’s no very similar to yours, though the T238 basic instead of standard trigger switch. Wouldn’t have bothered if it wasn’t dead, and then the aftermarket switch didn’t play nice.

That’s why I try to keep a few all the time!

A fun fact though… 11v of course has the 20rps you want in auto, but semi due to the T238 always does a normal semi cylce from the very start… but there is a neat quirk…

If it is the ultimate semi auto response you want. On this thing- run a 7.4v! It finishes the cycle just before it releases the piston, seriously pre cocked all the way.

Guessing the extra 3 teeth has it pulling up just before release rather than just after if using a 7v.

Neat effect. If it’s what you desire. Of course now I need to remember to decock it with an 11v rather than the usual 7v!

In an effort to source mags for my APC9K I got to eyeballing every other stick mag I own.

Struck me that the drum mag that comes with the UZI might actually fit a Le Hui MP9 with a minimum of fettling…

Cut an extra slot in the mag a little higher up than the original and it does. Firm fit, terminals and feed tube line up perfectly, feeds fine. :+1:

Still works in the UZI, of course. Just have to push it in to the second position.

Not really a huge fan of drums, much prefer sticks… but that’s two pimped MP9s with a drum mag and two stick mags apiece.

Dual weilding anyone?

Fwwooaarr… fkn hell rok, how’s accuracy at 370fps?

Bet that’s a stinger tho lol

BME’s hitting just over 400fps in initial testing was wild, I suspect over time the spring will settle to this sort of range.

I am yet to test that, but I except it to be like everything I have built in that fps range. Out of 5 gels one is accurate enough to potentially land a hit at +35m, the other 4 are in the “beaten zone” of 2-3 meters of the target!

Gels are better these days, but they are still gels!
Hoping to test it this weekend- but I have some Dracos to work on! :sunglasses:

my BIngfeng 95 barrel is rusty, showing rust red color :sob:

Dress it and paint her up will be fine. That looks wild, cheers :+1:

Surely China is no where near as humid as the north end of Australia?

South Australian and Western Australian Gelblasters were renowned for being in good condition on the second hand market, whereas anything out of Queensland or the Northern Territory were usually rusted and rotted to the core!

Mid-south China is surely very very humid
And original barrel are usually aliuminium which is not easy to get rusty
I changed it with a third-party steel barrel which has no anti-rust treatment just because the barrel of second-handed BingFeng 95 has been shortened by original owner and there’s no original factory parts selling…so🙃

I’m in Brisbane and can’t say any of my barrels have rusted.

But in saying that when you’re running a printer most days and the average temp in the room is around 35⁰ all year round that probably plays a part

Oi I’ve been getting some of the bannana benders humidity down here. Shorts, thongs tank top and I’m still sweating doing nothing . No wonder I don’t live up there. Now it’s a couple of C and I’m burning rubbish and stumps to keep warm. About 3 bloody clothes changes in a day . Must admit pearler weather, good living outdoors weather :+1:

Rusted barrels. What, There’s this little thing called oil @DocBob   :+1:
