Current project on your bench

Oh shit, sorry man… I thought I was replying to a DM…

Fixed it up. :+1:

:joy::rofl::joy: all good mate :joy::rofl::joy:

Ordering one of these Le Hui X-95 bullpups this Friday from iHobby.

Not impressive reviews online for them, far from stellar performance around 150FPS, but hey… it’s a bullpup and it’s cheap.

Going to be looking at rewiring to do away with the shitty proprietry battery pack and run a lipo… although these crappier LH gearboxes tend to not play nice with 11.1v, you tend to lose semi-auto. One review from China shows this being a bit of a problem, similar to trying to run an 11.1v lipo on an EVO 3. Ups your fire rate but you lose semi. :person_shrugging:

It’ll be a case of seeing if it’s possible to upgrade the unupgradeable and keep the original box in it, if not then a possible transplant… who knows? :sunglasses:

Side picatinny rails on the receiver front too, gotta lose that ribbed Coke can look.

Sounds like the sort of science project I like to sink my teeth into. :+1:

Medinchina clone, of a medinchina model, with medinchina parts…

What could possibly go wrong.?

:crazy_face::rofl::rofl:
Have fun.!

NOT a fan of ambi fire select at all… some of 'em anyway.

Case in point…

Beemer’s JG Works Sig 552 on the workbench… faulty ambi fire select out of the box, no safety, felt rough as bags on actuation. It was known at time of purchase and I did offer my services to fix the fault.

So a strip down and rebuild required. Low FPS of around 140 on testing meant a bit more of a comprehensive shiatsu to see why the V3’s underperforming. Solved the low compression problem solved with a new o ring, check of shimming and a grease up. Yet to put some through the chrono but it passes the @RokSolid “blow the paper across the bench” test, so lottsa air exiting the nozzle now.

But that ambi fire select… probably just assembled incorrectly previously, put together correctly now. But just still janky and not positive at all. Hardly any detent to speak of in any position, but at least it functions, albeit not pleasant to use.

I don’t get why China insist on using crappy diecast metal gearing on things like this. For low load applications, a decent nylon geared setup would be strong enough and feel a whole lot smoother. Worst part is, it can’t be deactivated and modified for single sided selection. The selector plate’s actuated on the left side of the box, the physical safety on the right.

The only thing good about it is JG actually bothered to cast index marks on the gears and made the left and right hand components hand specific… so no way to get it arse about or mistimed on reassembly.

I still maintain the Le Hui Sig 552 Commando is a far nicer unit to use than the JG. Even if it does only have a nylon receiver. :person_shrugging:

We’ll see about that when it comes time for me to work on myJG Sig 551 the young fella fried :crazy_face::joy:

Oh man… you’re gonna hate tearing that down… complex, lots to take off to get to the gearbox.

When you *do tackle it, this might help. :person_shrugging:

Change of mind…

Decided to pass on the dodgy unknown blaster and go with a known quantity. My F2000, a bullpup I already know I can get up in the high 200s with easily. The tactical tuna’s been decommissioned for too long.

So new Gen 8 box is on the way, upgrade parts to be ordered soon and once it’s pimped out to my liking it’ll slot right in to the already modified FN shell.

Plus, it takes most stanag mags (of which I already have plenty) with minimal modification to the mags.

BULLPUPS RULE!! :+1:

Bit of a trap to watch out for…

New Gen 8 gearbox came in from iHobby for the tactical tuna. Problem is, it’s the new version that features a V2 style trigger block and selector plate… mag prime too.

Easy to see the problems with a gearbox like that going into a bullpup… I need the old school Gen 8 trigger arrangement on a remote relocatable microswitch.

Fortunately I have a few Gen 8 shells and the necessary gubbins to cobble together a working unit for this bullpup application.

And I guess at least I have this newer Gen 8 for another custom build.

Although unless it’s going into an M4 receiver I’ll be struggling to make the selector plate functional. :person_shrugging:

Still have a few of the aftermarket Singularity Gen8 gearbox kits here if required mate, and can wait for the mailman to do his lap of Australia?

Worth checking is the V2 style often had a 480 motor and cage. That with a singularity box would be mint!

Good ol fish gun😎
Love em👍

Yeah, it would… but…

The F2000 being a bullpup rules out a conventional V2 style box. The OG Gen 8 is perfect because relocating the trigger switch and extending the wires to the original F2000 trigger is a doddle.

I do have a Singularity box already, but I went with the original Gen 8 shell that first went into it. Thanks for the offer though.

The sad thing is I whacked it all back together today, and with so many broken screw posts and shell fractures it a job and a half closing up the shell and keeping it secured. Especially when you pull the trigger.

I’m not giving up on it yet! Never say die!

P.S. Shell dramas sorted… a couple of sneaky splice plates screwed either side of the magwell fixes the problem of the shell flexing and opening up during use. Pretty inconspicuous too. So there are enough screws holding this dinosaur together securely enough to keep it viable. :+1:

Shitty project, not even a project

Finally got around to ordering one of these extensions to tighten up my JG works M16A1’s butt stock

Then had to stumble around trying to find the right size hex to get the job done

Now it’s tighter than a dolphins butt

It’s Australia mate, it’s a Duck’s Arse not a Dolphins Butt!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

One can only hope you’re not speaking from personal experience there, Shadow…

Nope, just from the movie reference :joy::joy:

The dilemma - purchase tan CYMA from iHobby or a can of paint from Repco and paint one of the existing M4’s

Get the can…!!
Show pics, and let me know how it goes…!!

Working on this bad boy BF Mk14 with metal gears

Ceased up after putting a new barrel in it

Gears jumped and grinded into the piston

Noticed it’s grinded the top and bottom of the gearbox casing as well, knew I should’ve order that shs shim kit :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Hard to tell from this angle and lighting but the tappet plate looks a little skewed/bent

Cleaned up, attempting to realign everything before greasing it up again and taking it for a test drive

Will definitely be a challenge for me getting the heights right but since the rains got me canned for work tonight, a challenge it is

Does anyone know if there’s a tappet plate available that is compatible with the BF mk14?

Edit: I think a gen 8 tappet plate will fit if my google search is correct?
