First set of stencils placed , looks like it should work well, gonna give it some colour tomorrow if the weather holds

That’s one thing I learnt the hard way
If it’s raining, dont paint shit, at least not unless you’re a professional with a humidity controlled painting booth
Or in my case, at least know what you’re doing

Top coats gonna be an airbrush so shouldn’t have any dramas, unless the compressor dies…

Added buffer tube, buttstock, longer barrel, Urban hop and suppressor to the little SLR ION 4.25". Was fortunate to find an original Dytac buttstock on special for 5 clams.

designed an Aimpoint 3000 copy and had it printed by a friend
looks very rough but looks good enough, will send him updated version of the red dot scope to print
Also made an Aimpoint 2000 version
It’s that all in one piece? Looks like he’s printed the tube part flat on the build plate instead of vertically, that’s why the tube looks a bit rough.
Might be worth breaking the model up into segments so they can be printed easier and cleaner then glued together.
Having another look, in the 2nd image it does look to be segmented but the front part was printed in the wrong orientation.

yeah he found out the threading was a bit small to screw in so he had to flip it and glue it the other way
I already made the updated version to be split into further segments because I had the idea of the ability to swap parts of the scope with different designs like an Aimpoint 2000 center part or swapping one of the tubes for a shorter one
