Its all a big misunder-STEN-ding..! (or...let me take STOCK, of the situation...)

Looky at what turned up today…

"Mein Gott…!! Vas is das.??
Der enemy vid der Schtenn mk2 und das uber-kompact Schtockz…!!
Yah, Yah, bedder get ein Blitzkreig pep pills, for vunder kourage to face mein enemy!!!

Heil trump… i mean hitler…achhh zey are all der same anyvays"

Funnily enough, it was supplied and sent from the UK…!!

It doesn’t fit yet, some fettling required, different lengths and widths of the retention arms…

Main circular retention hole, appears slightly larger on the new one…

Squiddy…what have you been doing to it, to wear it out.?.?!!

Side to side comparo…

Very different angle on the solo pipe coming out of the arm.

i.e. if you cut down the wire frame stock ( cut off the bottom loop and adhered to the stump of the upper arm) there would be a pronounced angular change…its not the same angle…

Comparison of what, it’s a bit of steel man that latches on to the other bit.

Or are we out doing Elon and going to Mars next

I got one myself, but you can’t have it. Dimensions vary. Loosy goosy in war time my friend so it just fkn works. :v:

So does it look like much tweaking to get it to fit?

See, the good thing is that new one is steel, not recycled wok alloy.

Emminently more workable. :+1:

For sure, from the great pics I can see you check the recoil location hole first. Get that set, then you can push the recoil button in and get the lower T joint to lock in and the recoil end plate knob should click out.

The hole looks to me might need a bit of opening up to suit the blaster but unsure.

Push recoil end butt in spring and slide up. Recoil butt plate should spring out and locked in.

Sorry man I dunno how else to explain it. Friggin mr German above I don’t speak that swahilli either.

It’s so simple, you will cream it FF, I know. I just know.

Take the recoil spring out first and the location end spring thing. See how that goes. To take pressure of the spring location plate. Use your MK1 eyeball see what’s going on.

Being not a real one tolerances will vary. They varied during manufacture anyway but you will work it out, easy. For you.

Not for somebody with slippers on  :face_with_peeking_eye: :v:

Das sclippers is der height of uber-coolness…
And ein schocks are required for der harsh German vintners…

You just jelly you have unt nein uber-cool vintner schlippers…!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Don’t mention the war…

@Maiphut Somehow I don’t think that extremely complex piece of engineering is going to be tricky.

Originally designed by Burt from Birmingham, brake pressed by Sid from Scunthorpe and welded up by Lester from Liverpool. :joy:

:joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

You will blow your dacks if I show you mine. Slippers not required

So why fkn ask then? It is simple if you can’t do that well, there’s a thing called a hammer.

It’s all good…

I’ll bring my finessing hammer.

Might crush BME’s dreams, bit big, I was thinking engineering size.

It’s too hard to explain via txt, but it’s so simple and why it was so to arm in a hurry for WW2. Loose as a goose works. Make it tight the shit your are grovelling through jams.

Why the L1A1 Lithgow put “sand cuts” on the bolt. Go through shit and still rock.

Yeah, the simple designs are often the most reliable… less moving parts to go wrong. :+1:

I’ve fired this Sten of BME’s… wouldn’t want to use it with a beer in your hand.

Gotta say, much prefer the look of the straight stock over the loop stock on it.

I have one of these in the cupboard. Special occasions only  :+1:

Well… that’s interesting

removed the incorrect sized retention slot.??

Full size shot.??

Yes, because the reciever is not the same.

But looks like somebody is home :person_shrugging:

No point in a full shot… looks like a Sten with a straight stock. :joy:

The block that locates the bottom into the slot at the rear of the receiver is just a sloppy press fit into the stock. In that photo it’s not even in.

But the problem of the recoil pin not going in far enough isn’t so easy… might need a bit of nutting out.
