Its all a big misunder-STEN-ding..! (or...let me take STOCK, of the situation...)

Yeah, that’ll be my first project for 2025, for sure. :+1:

Everyone should start the new year with a Sten stock that looks like something spat out of a Birmingham machine shop by Arthur the welder on his tea and biscuit break, Wild Woodbine hanging out of the corner of his mouth, flat cap on his head…

“Eee by gum, Noddy… 'ave a gander at stock ah joost welded oop!”

@AKgelblaster , just to clarify about the stock, this is what i am after.

All i need, is the base of the stock, that clips into and attaches to the back of the blaster. I dont need the whole stock, just the base. We can then make up and weld on the ‘Single metal rod’ type stock.

Cutting the bulk of the stock off, would also make the part sent much smaller, lighter, cheaper postage, and nothing of concern to either customs.

It doesn’t have to be pretty, just hacksawing it off would do, we can grind the stumps down here.

Please let me know the cost, and we can work out a final price for all the items / postage.

Thanks, and merry Xmas…!!

Nope, you need the whole thing. It’s alloy and I only have access to a mig welder, no tig.

Not a problem if I’m making the whole thing out of steel, but if you get an alloy base plate I won’t be able to weld the rest of it onto it.

The idea I had was using the lower part of the existing alloy skeleton stock as an anchor point for the straight steel version.

Hmmm…
Maybe better to just make up a steel base , then…

Should see the one I built. Pistol grip by golly me ole laddy.

Re gorilla glue, it is fantastic for nozzle rubbers. Fertilizer spreaders. I use it often on the job. ISO Alc both surfaces, let dry, not too much or it does expand depending on what you do and can be a pain to clear out or trim off. Grind off in my case

Got to be clamped together for min 2 hrs, or for nozzle rubber stand it with helping hands and don’t touch it for 24hrs bare minimum.

Also temperature plays a big part. No direct UV, temperature around that nice 25c. No minus 2 like didn’t work for me one day. ISOprop clean surfaces.

The idea I had was to fabricate the back end of the T stock out of alloy, then chop off the frame of the loop stock leaving an inch or so of the lower loop as an anchor point for the new stock.

Would have made for a much lighter finished item being alloy, but presents problems with the fabrication. Still very do-able though.

We’ll get there… should be light enough if I use light gauge steel tube and can be welded with a MIG. :+1:

Oh man I saw one of these scrolling DouYin last night and I was like the fuck is that thing? The recoil on it is massive.

Yep that’ll work if you can tig weld ally.

My rendition was a hand crafted wood grip bolted through the triangular thumbhole and epoxied on. Makrs a big difference. Sorry Can’t get hold of pics atm.

Also seems I can’t spell

I fink yor spelleng’s jusd phine, Myvut.

Just this old stinker keyboard Friendly Fired

Thanks to @Friendly_Fire for the link…

Ordered a new manufacture sten mk2 stock.

38 pounds, and postage to Oz is cheap.

B709 not required, and its literally just a lump of metal, so customs should be fine with it…

Might need a bit of fiddling to fit it onto the gelblaster, but hopefully should be minimal…

@AKgelblaster , im still keen on ordering more sten mag parts, while they are still available.

Also, any improvement on getting single blasters, out of china yet??

Thanks

That’s cool was wondering about that. Very simple back yard design for the last world war. :+1:

Hi @BME yup still on my list. There are a few things on their side, Sten parts is one of them. Last week I have a chat with them and today for updates.
However they have not sent extra yet. I am asking for either the STL file for my own handling if they are too occupied.

Thanks, pls keep me updated.

Of course, i am happy to pay for the parts, not expecting a handout…

Let us know about the gel Tec-9’s as well as shipping to OZ nowadays, please…
