Offshoot RC Models/Drone Hobby Thread

Is there NOTHING they don’t make in the RC Industry these days?

Laughing because I’ve been a bad influence on my housemate watching these things arriving and tearing around.

He went online and got himself an old Shorty 40 LandCruiser, and working as a machinery operator for his whole life…
also got a mini Bulldozer and Excavator to rip up the back yard! :joy:

I’d get a sub and try the Kursk :face_with_peeking_eye:

Let alone your housemate DoctorBob

Oi what’s this RAL8000 again

They look alright those tyres not too much hanging out in the breeze.

Ordered yours yet @Friendly_Fire

Got the WPL C-24 axles chopped down from 130mm- around 110mm and redrilled.:+1:

Swapped out the White 15x8 replica Sunraysia’s for the 15x10 replica Sunraysia Chromies… which I wasn’t going to use because of how far they stuck out, but now pretty sweet after the axle chop and the 15x8’s tucked under the guards even better :ok_hand:

These are the 15x10 Chromies that I didn’t want to use because they stuck out almost an inch from the body before the axle chop, but now they look bang on :+1:

Stole the TOYOTA sticker out of the MN82 kit because the LandCruiser doesn’t have a tailgate, and an 80’s Hilux just looks incomplete without it! :sunglasses:

Ordered these months ago in the Red alloy especially for when this Hilux arrived, but now checking them out, they look a bit GUCCI on the old girl, so will give them to my young fella to fit onto his Red MN82 LandCruiser instead

Funny you should ask…

In at Toyworld today for Tamiya clear coat… way too close to the RC bling. :joy:

Couple of them tickled my fancy.

TBH, I wouldn’t mind an RC Abrahms tank… set up a Taliban village in my backyard, pay the neighbours to hang over the fence saying “Durka durka… mohammed jihad… durka”. :joy:

Those rims would be perfect for yours too @Maiphut , if you are looking for some more in the future.

Great offset, 4 piece Alloy and Carbon Fibre Beadlocks with all the hardware, good looking 1.2" or 1.3" available for a wide range of aftermarket tyres and available in heaps of different designs and colours :ok_hand:

Very similar to the 1.3" INJORA black/chrome rims and tyres on my White Hilux currently :+1:

I just found this on AliExpress:
AU$91.97 | Aluminum+carbon Fiber 1.2 Inch Beadlock Wheel Rim Tire For 1/24 Axial Scx24 Fms24 1/18 Trax/as Trx4m Rc Crawler Car Tire

I’m going to order a set for the MN82, as even though the C-64 tyres and rims look great, the tyres are terrible RTR hard rubber whereas these wheel/tyre combo’s are much softer and grippier :ok_hand:

Great to see you can get Gelball firing RC Tanks these days too!
Can combine two hobbies into one! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

TaccyToys were selling them years ago.

Here’s what I’d really like to get stuck into…

A-10 Warthog :+1:

Oh looky here I found them on sale. Just what you need. They’ve just started a sale on Alixpress and the Choice Alix guaruntee

Heng Long 1/16 TK7.0 Customize 3918 USA M1A2 Abrams RC Tank 360° Turret Barrel Recoil BB Shooting TH17803-SMT5 Children Toys - AliExpress

I found some 1/8th scale ones too for 16 grand and 2 and half shipping. Holy shit

Oh for real, and they’ll fit my Inorja tyres I linked to?

Saturday night shopping here we come

Those are awesome, and a great price too!
Unfortunately on sale for a short time and only 1 left in stock

That’s where I was pressured into buying deals where I shouldn’t have been :joy:

My young fella would love one of these!

As long as you have 1.2" INJORA tyres ordered… you’ll be laughing!

Most of INJORA rims/tyres I purchased are only 1" , but have been getting these 1.2" sized rims/tyres for specific builds only, whereas the 1" stuff is what’s going on all my older model Hiluxes :+1:

Bonus is that offset, which is perfect on the Hiluxes, check out the pic on the Red Girl even before the axles were chopped, not poking out as far as the standard INJORA stuff.

INJORA King Trekker Super Soft Sticky 1.0 Wheel Tires All Terrain for 1/18 1/24 RC Crawler Axial SCX24 AX24 FMS FCX24 (T1014) - AliExpress 26

Na they are 1" . Ah so many sizes. I should be used to it but I roll with things like 10R 15" or 225/50/16" or 22.5"x8.25" so it’s all different to me.

Yeah good that the tyre hobby manufacturer’s are actually putting sizes on the sidewalls these days, making it much easier to work out the exact sizes of what you are ordering :raised_hands:

70x26-R1.3 :ok_hand:

Ha the RC saylors I spent a few hours watching their stuff over the years. How I found out the 1:12 WPL buggy was a good cheap and fast. They are not so cheap today.

That’s just OD and width though not the inner rim diameter which seems to be a bit elusive.

the only sub i’ll get is a footlong with chicken teriyaki on white.

Yes that’s why I just edited my pics above with a quick happy snap of the tyres on my White Hilux C-64 that includes the rim size along with the tyre size like our daily driver tyres.
70x26-R1.3 :ok_hand:

I’d say that they probably don’t bother with 1" stuff, because all tyres and rims will be advertised as 1" tyres or 1" rims, and they are all designed to fit each other… whereas it starts getting a bit more specific once playing with 1.2"/1.3"/1.5" etc.

You’re probably one of the most educated blokes when it comes to rim sizing, but like you said, full details are sadly lacking in the hobby at the moment, so why I was so happy seeing INJORA starting to add full tyre/rim specs on their latest tyres :ok_hand:

Yea I got to take stock of what I’ve already bought and go from there or I’ll have 20 tyres and rims

I’ve bought afaik 1.0" bead diameter tyres as I watched some european fellow recommended them. But then he links to these rims he used too
INJORA CNC Aluminium 1.3" Beadlock Wheel Rim for 1/24 1/18 RC Crawler Car (W1303) - AliExpress 26

Looking over it again. That’s where I’ve gone wrong. I trusted what he recommended and I can see it now he’s fkd it up. Right won’t be watching that channel again. Likely just accidently linked the wrong product or the product link changed.

Phew thought I was going dumb. Oh that’s right already am lol was doing my head in. All good on the right track now.

That’s definitely not unusual mate, where YouTube links to products/retailers change over time and are no longer current or correct from the time they first linked them.

I’ve noticed this many times myself.

At least it’s not difficult or expensive to wear a few mistakes, or buy the right parts for what you need to use the item as intended.

On that note… you don’t happen to need a new set of dancing shoes for your Clodhopper by any chance?, because I do know of a bloke who hit the"buy now" button late one night and didn’t realise his mistake until it was too late to cancel!:astonished::joy:

Must be video was 8 months old and they chop and change what sellers are selling.

Yea sure I’d buy them off him as I have both TXT-1 that is still on standard type clodbuster tyres. The clodbuster I have on King Flings atm but spares always come in handy the abuse I put them through
